He even cares more when he tried saving her when she got captured by their own creature

I saw a comment that the reason why they worked for graymor is because when they were helpless and young at that time graymor attacked ephidia and took hostage and kept the former king and queen iris parents as prisoners in the castle and he had killed many innocence people but the only way to live is to serve for him and do evil for him so basically the reason why ephisto became evil so that he still gets to live and graymor took in both him and his sister as well, so they've been working as slaves for graymor and so as the rest just to live and the other family they unfortunately died, and the end of the episode mephisto sacrificed himself for parxina :(
