"HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO KNOW WHICH MAGIBALL TO PICK!" Arin says angrily as the game literally shows water splashing on the screen and the game proclaiming it reveals the hidden truths.
It took me until the next one to realize it... But only that long.
I got so mad at them for a minute, im guilty of screaming at my computer while watching them yet again
They were obviously more focused on the sheer weirdness of the game rather than the mechanics.

To be fair, the first time it wasn't super clear if that was the enemy type and therefore you should pick the weakness to that type, or that it was already showing the correct choice.

@@fuzzyotterpaws4395 you'll be delighted to know that the tutorial also tells you what each color is- the yellow is an electric magiball, the blue is a water magiball, and the red is the fire magiball, so you don't need to make _such_ a leap to get there

Arin is the kind of guy who complains about tutorials and then complains about games that don't tell you what to do when it isn't written out in front of him. Devs can't win when it comes to Arin, unless it's Mario or MegaMan.

To be fair, I thought the crystal ball was giving hints about the enemy type, not the magiball type. If the enemy was a fire-type, you'd want to attack with water.

I really find this game oddly charming, like Lazytown. Weird comparison but it gives me the same oddly charming vibes with adult child-like characters and with the weird colorful style of their clothes.

This entire game takes place in the weirder parts of those I Spy books they had at the elementary school library.
This looks like the devs wanted to make a game with similar levels of ridiculousness as the Katamari franchise or the like, but was about $200 million short in budget and forgot the gameplay.
You know, it does feel like no-budget katamari. This is the best description of it I've heard so far in fact.

I'm very curious how much of a difference this 'clickbait-y' title and thumbnail combo performs compared to how they used to post videos; i imagine it must be some sort of positive difference if they haven't changed back yet. But for me personally, not having enough information on a video's title and/or thumbnail makes me 100% more likely to skip the video entirely :/ hell, some times i don't even recognize that a video is FROM the game grumps cause the thumbnail is just so drastically different from what i know them for

I always worry when they play games like these if they're going to be bad or "Bad". This one seems "Bad", which is a pleasant surprise.
I... I don't think this even is "Bad"... Just... Weird. And I love it.
Right? The writing in this is actually kinda clever. The characters all have distinct and recognizable ways of talking. The outfits for Dam and Dido are actually cute and stylized. The animations and imagery actually looks pretty good, if not incredibly trippy. The person or people who made this clearly have talent.
This whole game feels like something the guy who made the I Spy books would do just before tryin their hand at books and hittin it big.

I love it when the Grumps play games that are absolutely off-the-wall bananas because they’re fun whether you know the game or not. If you’re familiar, you enjoy watching people react to it. If you aren’t, you can experience the weirdness together.

The fact that she explained how the game works and the cat wasn't listening, is very fitting that it's Arin.

I don't think it's bad, though. It's weird, but that's clearly the point, so whoever made this succeeded. Also, the writing is confusing, but never clunky. It's all very lyrical, like a nonsense poem or a rant a character from Midsummer Night's Dream would go on. No, I'm not literally calling it Shakespeare, I hope you get what I mean, why I'm kinda glad they played this even if they weren't into it.

Huh, that's an interesting point. I think this is really well-written stuff, honestly. It's possible they were too put off by the visual strangeness? But I kind of love the look of it, too, so.. oh well, I liked it and I'm glad they brought my attention to it.
Usually I roll my eyes at the clueless comments because you guys are multitasking and small errors are to be expected. It really is fine! But this episode the comments are warranted. xD Picking a blue orb when it shows you burning candles isn't just ignoring a tutorial, it's not even looking at what is happening on the screen RIGHT THERE. Even simple matching colors would have worked if you don't know what each orb is.
I feel like the characters were generated in like the highest fidelity possible, then someone posed them, took screenshots, and the screenshots are what made it to the game. I think the slight shaking is actually just moving the camera around on the posed model, alternating back and forth like 5 degrees. It's very odd, but also it looks surprisingly good.
Add for the game:

The more I watch this channel, the more I realize I'm really just watching for Dan. I would watch the shit out of some Dan gaming

Fun fact: Dido was a character in Greek mythology, a queen cursed by the gods to love a child like his mother. When the child's father refuses to stay with her, because he needs to sail with his people to their home, Dido goes mad and kills herself. It's kind of a disaster.
