I went keto a few months ago. It wasn't easy. Physically it was easy because fat and protein are tasty. Mentally though, the transition was tough. 45 years of programming telling me to eat whole grains, lots of fruit, vegetables etc. didn't turn around overnight. Along the way my arthritis pain reduced 90%, I lost 15 lbs and, for the first time in my life, have total control over my appetite and food intake. I enjoy eating now more than any other time in my life and don't miss my carbs one bit. My bloodwork is outstanding. BP 100/70. Life is good.

Obviously, it’s still possible to lose weight on any diet - just eat fewer calories than you burn, right? The problem with this simplistic advice is that it ignores the elephant in the room: hunger. Most people don’t like to “just eat less,” as it may result in having to go hungry forever. Sooner or later, many will likely give up and eat without restriction, hence the prevalence of “yo-yo dieting.” While it should be possible to lose weight on any diet, some appear to make it easier and some to make it much harder.
The main advantage of the low-carb diet is that it may cause you to want to eat less. Even without counting calories, overweight people tend to eat fewer calories on low carb. Thus, calories count, but you don’t need to count them.

*The secular West’s double standards are glaringly evident from how they deal with “irrationality”. When this so-called irrationality is linked with religion it’s a problem. However, when it comes to things like “gender fluidity” it’s completely fine. Another example that can be mentioned is how the “clairvoyant” Edgar Cayce was extremely popular during the early 20th-century.*
And it’s the same story when it comes to aliens. The secular West, unable to fight its innate tendency to believe in the ghayb, proposes the likely existence of a non-human species which could communicate with our world - the same way Muslims believe in the jinn!
Of course all of this is done in the name of their own religion: science. They even have their own priests in the form of astrobiologists etc.
This belief of theirs is of the same nature as ours, even if they try and add some pseudo-empiricist spice: there may be tangible elements pointing towards the existence of aliens. They fail to grasp how we too say there are “tangible elements” regarding the influences of the jinn within our world.* .

Astral travel experiences that I didn't control, severe digestion issues and I also had some type of blue orb float into my bedroom and go into my head. I know all of this sounds insane but the Jinn you speak of makes sense. Fallen angels etc.

There is virtually no study that is credible which shows red meat being the cause of heart disease. Randomized clinical trials, the gold standard of studies, done to see if saturated fat is a culprit for modern diseases, all show no effect on heart disease or cancer or longevity compared to a non-saturated fat diet. Two epidemiological studies, which only show correlation and not causation, reported a 15-18% increase factor for heart disease with a saturated fat diet. But with possible confounding factors (like steak eaters tending to also eat sugar and smoke) make such small increases meaningless.

Aneela Hussain absolutely right. The plaques consist of LDL and calcifies inflammatory cells. Meat based diets increase both LDL and inflammation.

Aneela Hussain Blaming cholesterol for heart disease is like blaming the firemen for the fire. Your body makes cholesterol to deal with inflammation and other damage in the body. Watch Paul Saladino‘s interview with Dr. Nadir Ali. He’s a cardiologist in practice for over 30 years and he now teaches his clients to eat a low-carb high-fat diet and he’s seeing great results. Inflammation is often caused by insulin resistance. Insulin resistance is often caused by eating too many carbohydrates.

LDL is very important for your body and produced by the body. Guess what damages (oxidizes) LDL? Yup, CARBS! 😬 nobody like to hear this but it is the truth. LDL is indeed the fireman trying to heal and being blamed cuz that is what you find in arteries. You should watch Dr. Paul Mason’s video to educate yourself. Many long-term carnivores have high LDL numbers but low triglycerides and high HDL. Their CAC is ZERO!

    • @Photologistic

Your arteries are not sewer pipes, that’s just the analogy they sold you to get you to eat cheap garbage like cereal. Meat has loads of biologically available nutrition, grains are devoid of vitamins. They had to “fortify” breakfast cereals because people were dying from eating too much of it. Carbs cause plaque build up because they stimulate insulin which makes fat impossible to burn, and causes it to build up as a result (and make it virtually impossible to lose weight or be healthy)!!!

“The efforts to keep Americans from lowering their meat intake include some important new allies. Nina Teicholz, author of The Big Fat Surprise: Why Butter, Meat and Cheese Belong in a Healthy Diet, and the Nutrition Coalition, backed by John and Laura Arnold, billionaires from Texas whose fortunes are tied back to Enron, have joined in as major power players in the fight, according to an in-depth report from Politico.
According to Politico, before the Nutrition Coalition was officially formed, Teicholz attended a meeting with representatives for ConAgra, the Grocery Manufacturers Association, and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association, among others, to talk about whether criticizing the guidelines from the scientific standpoint would “create new opportunities” for rewriting the recommendations.”
Following her op-eds in the The New York Times and Wall Street Journal about why
“Americans need more meat, dairy, and eggs in their diets, Teicholz also recently published a feature report in BMJ, formerly known as the British Medical Journal, directly questioning the scientific approach behind this year’s USDA/HHS advisory report. The BMJ story was underwritten by the Arnolds, who “are spending an initial $200,000 to communicate [the scientific] critique” of the guidelines submitted by the government’s advisory panel.” For this purpose “They have funded The Nutrition Coalition.”
In the BMJ article Teicholz admits to receiving money... “for presenting my research findings presented in the book to a variety of groups related to the medical, restaurant, financial, meat, and dairy industries.”
“Nina Teicholz serves on the Nutrition Coalition’s governing board, comprised of scientists who do research funded by food companies and have received industry funding over the years for their research and work from Dannon Institute, Kraft General Foods, the National Dairy Council, a non-profit supported by the dairy checkoff program, The Beef Checkoff, Dairy Research Institute, Egg Nutrition Center, Global Dairy Platform, Hillshire Brands, and the National Pork Board.” The board also includes “a former undersecretary for food safety at USDA who has her own consulting firm with clients apparently including the National Restaurant Association and the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association.”

Ghee Pure Indian Foods Ghee, which is simply clarified butter, is the most revered food in Ayurvedic medicine, with an incredible array of remarkable healing properties, not least of which is the ability to rapidly repair digestive problems. Ghee is a building food, meaning that it is ideal for people recovering from a deficiency due to its deeply nourishing effects on the body. According to Ayurveda it restores ojas, loosely translated as vital or foundational energy. In a more scientific sense, ghee heals digestive problems because it is extraordinarily rich in butyric acid, which is used in the treatment of ulcers, IBS, ulcerative colitis and colon cancer, among other things. Butyric acid works by soothing and reducing inflammation in the digestive tract and healing wounds in the mucus lining of the stomach and intestines. It also balances the hydrochloric acid levels in the stomach, which are frequently disturbed in those with digestive problems. As an added benefit, Ghee is delicious and makes just about everything it comes into contact with taste much richer and more flavorful Q10 and Vit K also collagen heals your gut lining and reduces intestinal inflammation and the 500 bad bacteria that thrive out of control in the gut from modern living yeah yeah they are the 85 percent of immune system Ive had stomach problems since i was born, if i don't have meat i am not well this is not a joke these lentils and crappy Vegan foods make me feel bad, my stomach ripple like waves in the sea to much starch is not good wheat and trashy Vegan foods even to much Vegetables and fruit fermentation from Plant foods is causing bad bacteria in the microbiome to grow with yeasts etc Vegans are idiots as i actually feel ill eating the shit they promote Bone broth and gelatin have long been used to heal digestive problems, but scientists have recently uncovered the science behind the nutritional power of these foods - the key is collagen! The unique structural properties and amino acid profile of collagen allows this protein to help in reducing gut inflammation, heal stomach ulcers, aid in digestion, and regulate stomach acid secretion. Scientific research has shown collagen synthesis to be an essential biological process in repairing the intestinal lining. Collagen and gut health are related; read below the benefits of supplementing with collagen for leaky gut and other gut conditions. Collagen Benefits on Gut Health Collagen Regulates Stomach Acid Secretion Collagen has been found to regulate the secretion of gastric juices by ensuring enough acid for proper digestion. Collagen protein also prevents an excess of gastric juices, which can lead to heartburn, stomach ulcers, and other painful digestive problems caused from an overly acidic environment1. Collagen Can Help Heal Stomach Ulcers Glycine and Proline, the two main amino acids in Further Food Collagen Peptides, may help heal the stomach lining and prevent stress-induced ulcers through their positive impact on the central nervous system. Studies have identified glycine as an effective inhibitor of stomach ulcers due to its ability to prevent harmful gastric secretions in the stomach lining2. Collagen Aids in Digestion Another collagen and gut health benefit is that collagen helps digestion. Because collagen is a hydrophilic molecule, it has an attraction to water and acidic molecules, which aids the digestive process. Ingested collagen surrounds itself with water and stomach acid as it moves through the GI tract, which assists the breakdown of other proteins and carbohydrates in the intestines. Additionally, by holding water in the intestine, collagen helps move food through the GI tract more smoothly. Collagen Helps Repair the Intestinal and Stomach Lining Want to know how you can heal the intestinal and stomach lining? Try supplementing with collagen peptides! Science has identified collagen synthesis as an important component in the process of repairing and healing the intestinal lining. When there is damage or inflammation to the intestinal lining, new smooth muscle cells are made to heal the stomach lining and the intestinal wall. Scientists have found that collagen production in the intestine is greatest when smooth muscle cells are being generated during healing. Thus, collagen is a key component to healing the intestinal wall. Supplementing with collagen may help to repair and heal the stomach lining. 3 Collagen May Help Heal Leaky Gut and IBS Have you considered supplementing with collagen for leaky gut? Glutamine, one of the amino acids in collagen, has been identified as the key amino acid for preventing inflammation of the gut wall and healing leaky gut syndrome. It has been linked to inhibiting inflammation and oxidative stress associated with the opening of tight junctions in the connective tissue of the intestinal lining4. Studies have found decreased collagen levels in individuals with digestive imbalances. Specifically, there is an association between inflammatory bowel disease and decreased serum collagen levels5. Supplementation with collagen protein is key to providing relief for digestive diseases. Below are 10 foods that provide good or moderate amounts of vitamin K2. 1. Beef Liver - 60% DV per serving 1 slice: 72 mcg (60% DV) 100 grams: 106 mcg (88% DV) 2. Pork Chops - 49% DV per serving 3 ounces: 59 mcg (49% DV) 100 grams: 69 mcg (57% DV) 3. It is only relatively recently that fat, whether on people or in food, has become deeply unfashionable within Western society humanities.exeter.ac.uk/archaeology/research/projects/title_84572_en.html Dr Outram has an ongoing research interest in past human use of bone fats, i.e. bone marrow and bone grease. The processing of bones to extract fat will leave a very specific pattern of fracture and fragmentation within archaeological bone assemblages. In order to study these patterns, Alan has carried out many replicative experiments in fracturing bones. He has applied his work to the study of Mesolithic assemblages from Britain and Alpine Italy, Palaeoeskimo and medieval Norse assemblages in Greenland and a Neolithic hunting site in Sweden. His work has shown interesting trends in levels of bone fat exploitation, which are almost certainly related to levels of subsistence stress at particular times of the year. This work was continued with a study of Icelandic medieval Norse sites, funded by the British Academy. The Greenlandic Norse were under exceptional subsistence stress and had to process their bones for every last drop of fat. In the end they had to abandon Greenland, having been forced to eat their dogs, but they never fished despite a plentiful supply! The Icelandic Norse did fish. Is this extra food resource reflected in the level of bone fat processing required? Alan is currently studying the bone fat processing practices at a Plains Indian village at Mitchell, South Dakota. This is a site where, c. AD 1000, maize horticulturalists and bison hunters may well have been producing very large quantities of 'pemmican', a mixture of dried meat, berries and bone fat. At this site, he recently carried out an experiment into bone grease rendering and pemmican making.

eating fat burns fat. The gist of it is that the body uses proteins and fats to build muscles. Carbohydrates produce energy and are rare treats in nature. Carbs deliver bursts of energy that get processing priority over proteins and fats. If you ate a sugar donut, your body would react immediately by producing insulin to direct the converted energy toward parts of the body that needed it as fuel. Absent that, insulin would redirect the carbs to fat storage cells for future need. People who consume too many carbohydrates for long enough may well develop Type 2 Diabetes (adult onset). One way to stop that from happening is to “make that change,” in the words of Michael Jackson. The good news is that the solution to maintaining a healthy diet is easy to understand and to achieve. In fact, it’s not really a diet at all - it’s what you choose to eat because you know how it affects your metabolism and nourishes your cells. Don’t worry, it’s easy: just flip the USDA food pyramid upside down. Every day, eat plenty of fatty meats (bacon, mmmmm) and dairy, a good and varied amount of fruits and vegetables, and little to no sugars or starches. In his first book, Dr. Atkins talked about making food substitutions to get rid of bad carbs (donuts and bread) and replace them with good carbs (apples and carrots). Substitute ham and eggs at breakfast for the sweetened cereal. Weaning yourself from starchy sweets may be the hardest thing you ever do but it is so worth it. After three years of eating mostly fats and proteins, I broke my sugar addiction. For the first time in my life, I knew when I was full and stopped eating. Now, I can’t even eat a whole sugar donut. My blood sugar level shoots up and my body screams, “Nooooooooo!” Be warned: if you experiment with a low-carb diet and start to eat fatty meats and dairy products, eating sugars will sabotage your efforts and pile on the weight. The combination of fat, protein, and sugar will pack on the pounds in short order. Research is confirming that what we metabolize as food influences every other aspect of our well-being, including mental and emotional health. A nutritious diet strengthens the body’s disease-fighting immune system. The Linus Pauling Institute says that “cognition, problem solving, memory, alertness, sleep, and information processing” are all improved by healthy foods. There is no combination more powerful than a varied, nutritious diet coupled with regular exercise or physical activity. Cardiovascular disease, type-2 diabetes, and obesity all respond well to this double-punch technique that many fit folks embrace. A study from Columbia University found that all three of the leading causes of death in the U.S. (coronary heart disease, certain types of cancer, and stroke) are linked directly to diet. Each of the underlying risk factors (blood cholesterol, blood pressure, and weight) associated with these life-threatening conditions can be controlled through better food selections. Because no single food source can provide all the vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats, and carbohydrates a body needs to flourish, it is important to eat a wide assortment of foods. Just remember that the body burns energy from carbs, absorbs vitamins using fats, and grows muscle and other tissues from protein. Then put down that Twinkie and pick up a slice of cheese. Mmmmmmm.

Animals are an important part of a healthy diet. Don’t confuse livestock with pets. Livestock should be treated humanely though, not herded into feed lots. Monocrop agriculture is far worse to the environment-including small animals that get in the way of massive machines used on corporate “farms”-than responsible agricultural practices ever could be. Family farms are great for the environment. Cattle or bison develop the soil. Manure is far better than petroleum based fertilizers. People have eaten animals for millennia, veg only diet is not complete. Our digestive system is much closer to a dog’s than it is a cow’s, that’s not an accident. Vegans generally have healthy habits, meat eaters are much more likely to drink or smoke, etc. food frequency questionnaires are easily confounded. You should definitely take supplements if you only eat veg.

Look at your average vegetarian compared to your average McDonald's diner. I can speak from my own experience and observation - my fat friends are big microwave users, who eat frozen foods covered in cheese. Then, they feel healthy because they're having a salad (with a lake of creamy, cheesy, modified dressing all over it). They purchase packs of frozen Tyson chicken, and don't cut off the fat. Their diets are skewed towards bread, cheese, meat, grease, sugar, and salt. My thin friends on the other hand do a number of the following: make fresh, slow pressed vegetable juices in the early morning (not to be confused with blender smoothies that have low nutrient retention); eat salads including a variety of well thought out nutrient dense veggies, with a mere dash of a simple dressing; eat chicken and fish, and a small amount of red meat, but always take the time to cut off the fat before cooking with chicken or after cooking with red meat; eat lots of grains, nuts, and oats, particularly quinoa, chia, almonds, and oat bran. My thin friends also have noticeably clearer complexions, and never visit the doctor. My fat friends make regular doctors visits, often quote their doctors, and then have a variety of prescriptions on their kitchen counters. Plus they're fat, and look unhealthy, and they often have sleep issues as well. Based on my own observations, it's hard for me to believe I would become healthier by following the diet advice of my fat friends (ironically, they are always the ones with the advice, too!).

Meat is hard on the human digestive system. This is way meat is bad especially red meat. We cook meat because we are not designed to eat it, cooking is a form of pre-digestion that we use to eat what we normally would not be able to. Look at our teeth for examle. They are square, as are horses, goats, cows, giraffe, ect. all of whom are herbivores (vegetation eaters). Dogs, cats, sharks, wolves, tigars, snakes, ect. all have fangs. These are traits of carnivorous animals (animals that consume flesh). Humans are not meant to eat meat & eating it caues illness. Most people know this but are too undisciplined, weak of will or stuborn to give meats up.

We cook meat because it tenderizes it and we no longer have a taste for raw meat but their are plenty of people who can eat and digest raw meat.
What you are not meant to eat is potatoes, breads, legumes and such. Beans have to be boiled to eat. You are not going to eat whole raw potatoes and you will not go into the wild and eat stalks of wheat or raw corn but you can in fact eat raw meats.
If we weren't meant to eat meat why did prehistoric man do it? Why do we have the teeth for it and why does our body function best on protein. It aids recovery, rebuilds muscle tissues...

Meat especially mammal-meats are difficult for our bodies to digest. Yes meat has nutritional value but it's simply too difficult to filter & despose of the poisonous attributes. And all vegetation is not meant for consumption either or we would be able to bit into a log.

2010intrigued Funny considering Cavemen ate no rice, potatoes, grains and such but beyond that Diet Guru Vince Gironda lived on a steak and egg diet and was always muscular and thin. Dr Atkins ate this way and lived very well.
My own dad was 315lbs and switched to the Caveman diet and is 188lbs with a perfect heart. Blood pressure 90/65 with a low pulse. He eats meat three times a day with green leafy vegetables. At 50 he has the energy to run 5K's every week and still bench 300lbs. So I think that some people do better on a Caveman diet.

    “I was a vegetarian”
    Literally 20 seconds later
“I was eating stir fried vegetables and chicken”
This woman’s lying has been ridiculous almost as her funding by beef industry. And I am saying this as a meat lover.

Omg, irresponsible journalism at best, bribed/funded by the meat industry is more likely...
This is the worst story I have ever heard in my life...

It’s not meat that is carcinogenic. There is absolutely zero clinical scientific evidence to support that.

Lets look at then big picture .Animals feel pain when incarcerated in miserable conditions and killed . Forrest are being rapidly cleared to make room for more cattle pasture . This is causing more droughts and famines .Humans are suffering because they cant get enough water to raise cattle and crops .They are having to leave their farms . While coastal dwellers are having to leave their houses. So all this meat is at a very high price in suffering ,
I have been vegan since 1982 .I am now 62 . You can see how lean I am from my videos .I accomplish every thing you do on keto without causing massive pain.
If what all the religious scriptures of the world and the laws of physics say about "reaping what we sow" is correct
Then my harvest will have less pain in it than Ms Teicholz
while if you look at my videos I am lean, healthy , happy and strong at 62 . Best Wishes -Robbie

That's not an argument. She's a great journalist with no industry funding. She followed the science. That's it.
