  • Hello Guys! Welcome to the Salt and Speed youtube channel. Today’s adventure vlog is about an atv off road adventure tour in Ocala national forest trails.
    Recently I have visited Ocala national forest for some off-road adventure. Sugar sand trails up the skills needed for the dirt bike, but still a ton of fun.
    Ocala national forest is 24 miles east of Ocala Florida and about 70 miles north of Orlando. With 383,000 acres, this is the oldest and the most southern forest east of the Mississippi river. It’s also home to the largest contiguous sand pine scrub forest in the world. Many venture to the forest trails for several reasons some for an in depth forest exploration while others for sightseeing and bear watching. For off roading enthusiasts, it is always for the thrill and excitement of riding and discovering new places.
    The trails are sandy, but give you a close up view of the impressive ecosystem. Routes and trails are for different skill levels and vehicles and allow you to explore the scenery and diverse wildlife. Recreational areas make for cool stops, you can camp for the night, making your stay in the forest overnight and fun. You don’t have to be in the fast lane to experience thrill and excitement. Sometimes, easy does it. Enjoying the outdoors at a slow pace is something you can look forward to, or then again, not that slow of a pace but there are speed limits.
    The Ocala National Forest has 3 separate ATV riding areas: Ocala Centennial OHV Trail, Ocala North OHV Trails and Wandering Wiregrass Trail. These separate riding areas do not connect to one another. Some veterans find the riding conditions dry and unchallenging in the daytime, and the only obstacles close to demanding are slightly deep sand and muddy ditches.
    This is a family friendly riding area with different terrain, banked turns, sandy trails and endangered scrub forest with lots of twists and curves. Going too fast is discouraged in the Ocala National Forest. The ATV trails are designed for slow riding so that riders can enjoy the environment and stay safe.
    So, watch till the end and if you like off-roading of any kind check out Ocala national forest, a trail pass is required to ride the Ocala ATV Trails.

      Not sure....we parked at the trail head and went from there. Not sure which trails we connected to from Centennial. Hopefully you plan better than we did.

    Wait a minute!! You both have no helmets on, lost, no GPS, no pinned area of your vehicle, wearing shorts, and your gonna hand it to the guys going fast.
    Lmfao!!!
    You need to rethink your riding and safety and maybe a backpack of crap just in CASE.
    LMFAO....YOU FUNNY!

    All ATV must ride the designated ATV trails. Only way to ride any road is if it's a licensed vehicle and can legally be driven down the paved highway. And please if riding during hunting season be respectful of the hunters especially in dog hunt area. Nobody wants conflicts and definitely don't want hounds run over

    Did you need a title for the bike to ride there?

    • @SaltandSpeed
      @SaltandSpeed  2 роки тому

      Hi CJ..you need the OHV sticker, you may need a title...if....you get stopped by a ranger. Hasnt happened to us yet. You can check out the rules here. www.fs.usda.gov/activity/florida/recreation/ohv/

    i believe your supposed to be wearing helmets there. i dont even understand why you wouldnt

    • @schflorida1
      @schflorida1 Рік тому

      Wrong! You don’t need to wear a helmet in ONF OHV trails. Only when you 16 or younger!

    • @catmanflorida2839
      @catmanflorida2839 9 місяців тому

      They dont wear helmets because ---- they are above injuries and accidents, cause they are tool cool to wear any protection and the first to complain or sue if in an accident, regardless of fault, which- of course- would never be theirs.
