The ambient temperature is used to calculate the amount of heat transferred from the bearing to the atmosphere... Because heat transfer is based on the temperature of the two substances..
In Textbook of Machine Design by R.S.Khurmi, the heat dissipated is given by the equation H = [C * Area * (tb-ta)] where C is the heat dissipation coefficient, Area = length * diameter of journal tb is mentioned as the bearing temp tb = 1/2 * (temp. of oil film - temp. of surroundings) You've mentioned the equation according to PSG DB What should we refer? Asking because the same que is present in Khurmi and mass of oil to remove differs substantially. Thanks
Great explanation 👍👌
Thank you
Awesome lecture!
Glad you liked it!
Nice lecture..
Thanks for liking! keep watching
Sir I have one problem, I have not PSG data book so how can I gave this book pdf?...pls reply sir
What is the role of ambient temperature or room temperature here? Why value of ta was taken accordingly?
The ambient temperature is used to calculate the amount of heat transferred from the bearing to the atmosphere... Because heat transfer is based on the temperature of the two substances..
In Textbook of Machine Design by R.S.Khurmi, the heat dissipated is given by the equation
H = [C * Area * (tb-ta)]
where
C is the heat dissipation coefficient,
Area = length * diameter of journal
tb is mentioned as the bearing temp
tb = 1/2 * (temp. of oil film - temp. of surroundings)
You've mentioned the equation according to PSG DB
What should we refer? Asking because the same que is present in Khurmi and mass of oil to remove differs substantially.
Thanks
In my lectures i have completely followed PSG design data book equations...
