The argument isn’t as much about the racing product as it is about the attendance. Most tracks were struggling to have respectable crowd but since tracks like pocono, Michigan and New Hampshire have gone to one date the attendance has gotten better not only at those tracks but the tracks that have replaced their second dates. Tracks like Daytona, Talladega, Martinsville, Kansas, Charlotte, Atlanta and Darlington sure should keep 2 dates but there is not much argument for any other track
I agree with that
Even Kansas is debatable due to it’s moderate attendance, you bet if it’s one date then it’s a sellout crowd every year. Plus that gives us a place for say… Chicagoland on the calendar
I will say that I do agree with your overall point though
I think keeping most tracks to 1 race helps a lot with optics imo. It’s so much better to have 1 race with full grandstands than 2 races with half full stands. This is a lot more appealing to potential sponsors. I would also shorten the season altogether. While I see the point people make with competing with the NFL, it also makes Nascar a lot more affordable for teams and is less demanding for drivers and employees. Perhaps 28 races is all we need, with 2 dates being reserved for superspeedways only (Atlanta, Daytona and Dega are gonna sell out every time).
Tbh, 1 date except for Daytona, Dega and Charlotte (if they go to the oval, it needs to be a championship race). Here’s a mock schedule and yes it’s 34 instead of 36 races.

*NASCAR Tracks Don’t Need 1 Race Each*
We don't need 36 races in a season, not to mention that having the season extend into November and compete with the NFL is ratings suicide. The NFL is a ratings juggernaut. There's a reason the NFL adding an 18th game like Roger Goodell has floated would have major implications for NASCAR.
I would be fine with 25-race season. (And before you come at me, calling me not a real NASCAR fan, or telling me I should watch IndyCar or F1, I've been a NASCAR fan since 2000.)
In my opinion Daytona talladega Atlanta martinsville Bristol Kansas and Dover should have 2 dates and that’s about it
Edit: I forgot Darlington 💀
No Dover Shouldn’t have 2 dates
Having only 1 race has helped Dover immensely
I agree
Terrible.
who r u the x man? thats pathetic
