I’m planning a Stitch-a-thon situation for Halloween and possibly Christmas 👀
Pick a WIP sounds like fun! I hope it works for you and you have fun with it. And the bag your aunt gave you is so perfect. Really enjoyed seeing your stitching!
Your board, your rules! I think I’ve overhauled my WIPGO board at least twice every year I’ve played. Your reasons are 100% valid, to change things up for #pickawip. My newest rotation was 1 project from each year of start date (2020-2023) with 2 wipgo calls as 1 day “breaks” between. Then I got a wild hair and recharted my least favorite project and am pushing for a finish. LOL got to feed that creative wellspring.
Great video! Love your pick a WIP idea and that bag your aunt gave you. So pretty! On your Creepy Cross-Stitch finishes it does look like there might be enough space between them to cut them apart and turn them into pillows. Once you cut them apart you could sew quilting fabric to the edges so that the stitched part stays further from the edge and isn’t on the part that curves backward too much. Hopefully that makes sense. Happy Anniversary! 🧡
Love seeing how much more relaxed you are with your new game. Brilliant! I don’t do WIPGO. I know my anxiety would take over and suck all the fun out of it. I stitch what I want when I want. If I’m really enjoying a stitch I may work on it every day for at least 2 weeks. By then I’m ready to move on.
So glad you love the fabric organizer thingy (not sure what it’s actually called). I love mine too! And make sure to show us your fabric once you try dying. Not sure if you know about the cross stitch shop in Branson - Cecilia's Samplers. It’s a wonderful shop and not as far as your original LNS. Also, I’m glad you’re not stressing over your projects anymore. I’ve never set goals for projects, unless it’s a gift I need to finish. I want to enjoy my craft and don’t want to feel like I have to work on a specific project for a certain period of time. I stitch what I want to stitch, when I want to stitch on it. I love you sweetie and am so glad to share the love of cross stitch together 😘! Looking forward to your next video.
Your new fabrics look wonderful! 🧡 You could sew a piece of fabric to your designs you stitched to have more fabric to work with if you wish to lace for framing or to make into a pillow. Adds more stability to work with. Your book sounds very interesting indeed. I don’t read thrillers anymore, but it sounded interesting. Maybe automated cars are in the future. You enjoy! Love your chart you are working on. It will be lovely when finished. Have a good week!
🧡 I will join you with #PickAWIP. Being goal oriented too is why I’ve not tried WIP go, I want stitching to stay fun. Happy Anniversary to you & your wife!
Loved your video. I have made one of those Sew Together bags and you are right, they are so great for supplies. I just bought the whole ToG series and plan to start it after I finish the series I’m reading now. I’ve never read it! I have to say too, I love your gratitude section. I used to always include something I was grateful for in my blog posts, so that brought a smile to my face.
Instead of calling them goals, I give myself some grace by calling them suggestions, the only exception being if it is a gift and thus has a specific date due.
those atomic ranch fabrics are so 🧡! I really need to build up my stash fabric. I absolutely love that Brijin sent you her WIP. I can’t wait to see you finish it! I’ll definitely be participating in “pick a WIP” I love the idea so much!
This was my first time watching you and I loved all the Barbara Ana. I’ve been really into her lately! Love that boot notebook too. Tj Maxx has the best stationery!!
Loved watching as always, and happy anniversary!❤! Stitching should always be fun and relaxing, but I definitely can relate on that “guilty” feeling. I was feeling it a few times over the last few months when I was rushing to finish gifts for people. Also, SO excited to play pick a WIP with you!!
Your pick a WIP is actually how I am doing wipgo this year. Instead of assigning projects to each number, I have different prompts and each month I pick two projects based on the prompts and stitch 6 days on each. It’s been very fun and flexible enough for me to stick to it 😊
I really like the pick-a-WIP idea! I would like to see all of your prompts. I’m thinking about adopting this idea so I’d love to know some of your other prompts.
🧡 Happy Anniversary! 🎉 I am a first time reader of the Throne of Glass series and started with Assassain’s Blade. It took me forever to get it from my library. I am almost done with Throne of Glass the first book and it is pretty good. So far I like it a lot more than Assassian’s Blade! I feel like A.B. was like a super intense prologue but it does help explain the main character. It’s awesome you have an in-person friend to talk books with! Pick a WIP sounds fun I will have to go through and see if I have any with birds! A list of all the prompts would be neat to have to play along 😊
thank you!! 🌸✨ i plan to make a list of prompts and post them to instagram hopefully next week. i’m super excited to get into Assassins Blade! I’m sure i’ll talk about it once i finish it 😉
Pick A WIP is clever AF girl! Seriously! I might have to invoke something as my WIP count is climbing….but now I am out of Marjorie videos :( so sad, make more! - lol take care, Nic x
Happy Anniversary 🧡 I used to use the tiny decision wheel, but I started just kept spinning if it picked something I didn’t want to stitch lol. I will join you on pick a wip using your prompt. I will go through my WIPs once my toddler goes to bed. Not sure how much I’ll get done since I am having my third child any day.
😍 the photo of you and your wife is adorable. Congrats on your anniversary and your anniversary start! It looks amazing. I love the fabric it's on. I started my Christmas in July over the weekend. I am stitching Christmas ornaments for my friends. I make them ornaments every year. Barbara Ana has cute winter/Christmas stitches ❤ I love your idea of pick a WIP. I'm a stitch on one project at a time person. I'll have to live vicariously through you 😊 Have a great weekend!! 🧡🧡
@@marjoriemade my love language for friends and family is making things 😊 I imagine alot of stitchers are like that especially if they know their friends/family appreciate the gift.
I have that book and love it. Your margins are slim, but if you lace the back i think you can get them into frames. They look so cool in little ornate frames. You must do the rabbit, the spider and the rat. Quick stitches that are so eye catching. Love your videos
PICK A WIP IS SO MUCH FUN!! I'm so excited! Also, do you have stitch something monochromatic in the jar yet? You're a genius for coming up with this, I can't wait to see what kind of variety of projects I get to work on as a result! 🧡
I literally just posted about starting the Nevermore pattern with the forbidden fiber co conversion and it matching your #pickawip prompt. I can't wait to see how your Nevermore goes!
it actually matches the first two prompts 🤪 i pulled one on instagram last week and it was “project with words”. so you’re hitting 2/2 ✨✨ can’t wait to see your progress on it!
Love how low-pressure your new Pick-a-WIP strategy is! What about something like "Flosstube Friends" prompt (where you pick a WIP that you started with one of your IG or Flosstube buddies)??
My Christmas in July might just be starting my Christmas gifts for family. But yes, I do a lot of online fabric browsing as while my LNS is close, I only have limited amount of time and it’s so crowded to try and find what I want. I tried a WIP wheel at the beginning of the year but it was just all my WIPs, themes still leave it open to interpretation and what is interesting to me in the moment. For prompts: cats, fruit, Quaker, literary, 310 Throne of Glass is an interesting series. Are you planning on interspersing the novellas and/or going back and forth between books 5 and 6 I think as their timeline is synchronous
Thanks for the prompt recommendations! I’ll add those to the jar 😉 I plan to read all of Assassins Blade before re-staring the series and then tandem read the 5th and 6th book. but that’ll be way down the line 😂
@@marjoriemade I would recommend Assassin’s Blade after Heir of Fire. And then going back to reread relevant chapters and go OHHHHHHHH 🥹🥹🥹 I read as they were published and it was a slog at some points, a tandem read is key in my opinion
Really like the Pick a Wip Idea, I just had a start all the things month and am now trying to rein myself back in...proving to be a challenge lol! I am doing a stitch wheel random picker but can definitely tag it pickawip. I have lots of WIPGO going this month, trying to keep my momentum
I love your idea! I mostly work on one project at a time and I have only about 4 wips, so I don’t think it would make much sense for me. But It sounds so fun!
I just started using the spinner app each day to pick what I put at least one length of floss in. I have been moody lately and was struggling to stitch every day. I have 11 WIPs and about half are Christmas so my Christmas in July will be handled by the spinner. No pressure that way!
🧡 loving the pick a wip. I too am reasonably new so i want to start EVERYTHING!!! i hate birds so i don’t have much except one with a chicken so i guess that’s what i’m stitching :)
I love this episode and the pick a WIP idea. Ive struggled to keep up with some annual SALs but I love your ethos of giving yourself grace as a hobby needs to be fun. I will deffo be joining in so would love to see the list of the different themes. Im also doing christmas in July I need to start earlier this year so I can have some FFOs to put up. 🧡
thank you, Nathalie! 🌸✨ i’ll post a list of the prompts on instagram within the next week or so and try to mention them in my next video. christmas is july is going to be so fun!
🧡 the book you talked about sounded super interesting. I am listening to The Institute by Stephen King which is amazing. Also, one of my ALL TIME favorite series is TOG. Enjoy reading!!! And maybe keep us updated so I might read along. 😬Also love your stitching and your pick a wip sounds super fun!
🍊I hardly ever use emojis so that was fun finding the orange lol. Yes I’m easily amused. I so enjoyed your video. I don’t have that many wips right now or I would play along. I’ve just been back to stitching for about a year. I have a ton of projects kitted up just waiting for me to start them. I’m mostly working on Autumn At Hawk Run Hollow and Welcome To The North Pole by Primrose Cottage Stitches. It’s super cutesy and I thought it would be fun for a Christmas framed piece that my future grandchildren will enjoy. I have a really small start on Halloween Quaker and I really want to get some work done on that, kind of like you do on your Vanity Sampler. I have a lot of samplers kitted up I just need to decide on which one to start next. I recently finished The Red Bird Sampler. There’s so many designers that I want to stitch let’s hope I have many many more years of stitching now that were empty nesters. I’m a long time reader I have a wide assortment of authors I like but I do read everything by Stephen King and a lot of fantasy and some fantasy science fiction so I’ll put your book recommendation on my list, sounds really good. Take care
I 🧡your pick a WIP idea. I did something similar for the NYE 12X12. I put the name of my WIPs on a large wooden stick and picked a new one every hour. I’m going to resurrect that to go along with your pick a WIP idea.
🟠Happy anniversary! I totally agree with your decision to get rid of the "requirements" on your projects. I've been struggling too and I have been considering doing whatever I want. I could change my wipgo board but, like you, cant. 😅 i just read my first John Marrs book - The One. It was so good so I will look for the one you mentioned next time. Also, you were sharing a chart and a gift certificate a couple vidoes ago. Did you draw for those and I miss the announcement? My summer has been busy so I very well could have! 🙃
Hey, Shannon! I completely agree with you on that 😊 The One is in my top 5 favorite books of all time. So good! I did already draw for those and reached out to the winners directly. I wasn’t able to film one week, so i wanted to get those sent out and forgot to mention it in my last video 😬
Great video! I've heard a few others mention your #pickawip 'game' so I came here to find out more! Love it!! I'm going to follow along with you. Are you using the Notion app to find your WIPs for the prompt? If so, how? Thanks! Off to find a 'bird' WIP!!
welcome!! thank you so much for being here ✨🌸 For Notion, i used FrizzyLizzyStitches template and added in cover photos for each project. So I have my WIP list that i can quickly look through. Hope that helps a little 😂
Love the game!!! I think I would pick one once a week. When school starts I will have to go to a 25/7 plan with it because I start nursing school and I will be working. Would like to know the categories that you already have. 😊
So glad that you’ll be joining in on the game! Wishing you all the success in nursing school 🌸✨ I’ll be posting the prompts on instagram this week and will talk about it more in depth in my next video. Thank you so much for being here 💞
You can totally make some cute pillows out of that first project, you can do it!! Does my pick a wip count if I already planned to start this one?? 😆😆 I will be starting Mary Morgan’s from fox and rabbit as my birthday start, and I’ll be starting that any day now, my birthday is on the 10th but I probably won’t wait that long to start it, she’s a big girl and she has a bird on her. 🧡🧡
hey, i think that counts 😂 i’ve already thought about changing my project a few times. there are no rules to this lol Mary Morgan is sooooo stunning 🤩 It’s on my wishlist for some day 😂 Happy Birthday!! 🎊🎉
🧡 I love your pick a wip game idea! I think I’m going to try to stitch along with whichever prompt you pick each time. I also need to check out that book you’re reading. It sounds good!
🧡🧡 love the game idea, DM me your prompts because my entire brain said do things like "the most green, or the wip with the most blue, etc etc" but I have monochrome WIPS in 3 colours! so it won't be as fun once those are selected lol
Marjorie that bag is so cute. Do you know how we can get one if we want one… I really like the fabric too and the pin cushion and needle felt and all the pockets… what do I gotta do to get one? Who do I gotta talk to if I must.

Also, you were sharing a chart and a gift certificate a couple vidoes ago. Did you draw for those and I miss the announcement? My summer has been busy so I very well could have! 🙃
Hey, Shannon! I completely agree with you on that 😊
The One is in my top 5 favorite books of all time.
If so, how?
Thanks! Off to find a 'bird' WIP!!
welcome!! thank you so much for being here ✨🌸
For Notion, i used FrizzyLizzyStitches template and added in cover photos for each project. So I have my WIP list that i can quickly look through. Hope that helps a little 😂
@marjoriemade Ah yes, this does help. I have Notion but haven't used it extensively yet. Thanks!
Love the game!!! I think I would pick one once a week. When school starts I will have to go to a 25/7 plan with it because I start nursing school and I will be working. Would like to know the categories that you already have. 😊
So glad that you’ll be joining in on the game! Wishing you all the success in nursing school 🌸✨
I’ll be posting the prompts on instagram this week and will talk about it more in depth in my next video.
hey, i think that counts 😂 i’ve already thought about changing my project a few times. there are no rules to this lol
Mary Morgan is sooooo stunning 🤩 It’s on my wishlist for some day 😂 Happy Birthday!! 🎊🎉
Happy Anniversary 🩷🩷🩷
thank youuuu 💞✨
No idea about attaching emojis. Good idea about pickawip. My categories would include cartoon-based, book-based, tv-based.
thank you, Angie! ✨🌸
🧡 I love your pick a wip game idea! I think I’m going to try to stitch along with whichever prompt you pick each time. I also need to check out that book you’re reading. It sounds good!
yay! so happy that you’re going to play along ✨🌸 thank you, Sarah!
🧡🧡 love the game idea, DM me your prompts because my entire brain said do things like "the most green, or the wip with the most blue, etc etc" but I have monochrome WIPS in 3 colours! so it won't be as fun once those are selected lol
i gotchu ✨🌸
I don't know how to send an orange emoji... I'm a dinosaur, but I watched entire video. Great job.
thank you so much ✨🌸
Marjorie that bag is so cute. Do you know how we can get one if we want one… I really like the fabric too and the pin cushion and needle felt and all the pockets… what do I gotta do to get one? Who do I gotta talk to if I must.
sadly, i don’t know where you can get one. my aunt got it for me at a stitching retreat. you might be able to search for them on etsy?
🧡 Happy Anniversary! Ideas: stitch a pdf pattern, stitch a small monochromatic pattern, stitch a pattern with an alphabet
Thank you so much for the recommendations, Susan! I’ll add those to the jar before my next video ✨🌸
