- Texas is doubling down on the U.S.-Mexico border, refusing to remove razor wire that would allow Border Patrol into a public park in Eagle Pass, Texas. Gov. Greg Abbott said the state will "hold the line" against border crossings, and 25 Republican governors have signed a letter supporting Abbott. CBS News' Camilo Montoya Galvez has more from Eagle Pass.

It's a treasonous issue. The U.S. Constitution is the law of the land, not the Texas governor. The courts ruled that the state cannot but up razor wire. As a law and order conservative, I follow the law. Obviously, the many traitors hiding out in the south don't follow the U.S. Constitution.

Oregonian and I'm independent. Federal government has way overstep this time. It's truly frightening that this issue is being used as a political football. I don't lean either way in dem/repub. I don't want to box myself in ever. Ironic though I tend to agree with conservatives majority of the time. This issue goes way deeper than just immigration in my opinion. America already had tens of millions of undocumented people. Coupled with the rise in drugs and lack of crime enforcement that's the obvious. Dem or Republican millions of people can become an army. State and local police have been chopped up in recent years. The potential for millions of unknown individuals for mass disruption of our infrastructure which is already failing.
Finally America has made some enemies from all over the world. I'm tired of the left media trotting out some Hispanic as the representative of illegals. Women and a child on this one. Clear manipulation of facts. We don't know who or where they all come from. It could just as easy be terrorists dropped off in Mexico and walk right in.
It anger's me because this is a clear national security issue and a big one. How many sleeper cells have walked right in on the red carpet. We all have to show an id at the airport to travel within the country. Go through security. Because of " national security". I hope Trump gets back in, but I hope even more one politician reads this post. isis the terrorist group has been reported in over 40 countries and that was 7 years ago. This is the greatest threat to national security since WW2 in my opinion and should have been dealt with by Congress immediately as it began. If democrats can claim a thousand unarmed civilians entering the Capitol as an insurrection and a threat to the country. Someone riddle me this, what could millions of non American people do if they were armed by a foreign government! This thing is way past legal or illegal immigration. The Repubs blocked the border security funds President Biden offered TX, which includes $14B in border funds, 1300 additional CPB agents, clerical staff, law enforcement, humanitarian crisis aide, and technology.
The US Constitution takes priority over any state's constitution. Abbott could be held in contempt for blocking the CBP from doing their jobs, and for defying the Supreme Court's order.
All states should be helping.

For Perspective Reasons of WHY protecting the TEXAS border is so vital:
-- the TEXAS part of the Southern Border is about the same length as Atlanta, GA to Portland, ME.
-- I-35 runs (North/South) from Laredo, TX (adjacent to Mexico) up to Duluth, MN (adjacent to Canada). It runs through San Antonio, Austin, and splits just south of Dallas and I-35 East goes through Dallas and I-35 West goes through Ft Worth. It also goes through Oklahoma City, OK, Kansas City, MO, and Des Moines, IA.....can anyone say "trafficking"?
-- I-10 runs (East/West) runs through the entire width of Texas including San Antonio and Houston. One end is in Santa Monica CA, through Los Angeles CA, Phoenix AZ, LaPlace LA (New Orleans), Mobile AL, and then winds up on the Eastern side in Jacksonville FL......AGAIN for those in the back, can anyone say "trafficking"?

What the reporter is holding is not razor wire, that's concertina wire. Razor wire has longer "thorns" and are sharp along the "thorn's" edge. It will cut you to the quick. Concertina wire just has really short and sharp points on the "thorns". Look at what prisons use along the top of the fences, that's razor wire.

We are very glad to see the other States step up to support Abbott, but we know HE is the one with the big job and the big you know what enough to actually STAND UP TO THE FEDS that want to control us all. We know how much we owe to Texas and to its courageous governor, Greg Abbott. Man of the Year, ,without doubt.
the NATIONAL border is the sole duty of the feds, it is NOT the right of a single state to determine the NATIONAL immigration policy. this is just like when texas wanted to try to nationally ban an abortion pill using a mere state judge. or when texas tried to sue ANOTHER state when that state voted for biden. texas is trying REALLY hard to DICTATE to other states what their rights are. we other states have a RIGHT to have access to immigrant workers and the right to make them citizens of OUR states. texas is NOT the national government.
