    That is the biggest bokchoi I have ever seen. I’m serious. And I lived in Asia.
    Beautiful.
    The Swiss chard and lettuce are vibrant too.

    You could consider using some grow lights to extend the day during the winter. Doesn't take a lot.

      A little bit of light to extend the day length can make a difference. I just got some FEIT 9 watt grow bulbs for $13 each.

    Hi, thank-you for all the information. I live in England, in an apartment, and started a new hobby during "lockdown," Kratky hydroponic gardening. I have some questions, if you don't mind. 1) How did your first market go? 2) Were you the only stall selling hydroponic vegetables? 3) What was the public response? All the very best with your venture!

      It takes time to develop a market following. So expect it to. But our farm sales have doubled every year and we are very profitable at this point.

      Our worst issues are aphids. We use organic sprays to combat them.

      Suspended pot will be difficult if your climate gets hot. It works best if the nutrient can stay below 65F. I would suggest floating raft with air stones as an alternative.

      @tangobayus 2 роки тому

      I've done it. I'm currently shifting back to 2" pots in 1-3/4" holes. (I've been using 3" net pots. Not needed for lettuce etc.) Watch my videos.

    Is this a way you do not need water pumps and air pumps.
    Can you explain how the system works and the amount of dissolved salts in the water that the lettuce needs?

    • @itsmannertime
      @itsmannertime 4 роки тому

      Quick and dirty version- plants in a kratky system seem to grow roots that dip into the water (which will lose oxygen) and roots that stay above the water line, which draw oxygen from the moist air below the lid. As for salt build up, it doesn't seem to be a big issue for many plants (leafy greens, tomatoes, even ginger)

    Great job. My question is how to regulate the EC, if it is assumed, you can not add water? Does the concentration of salts increase greatly when water decreases?

    • @bialeckifarms3254

      Honestly we don't sweat the small stuff. It just works. :)

    • @tangobayus

      Invest in an EC meter. I use a semi-deep water system. Sometimes I add water, sometimes food. Watch my videos.

    Welcome How nutrients are added in the tank.

    • @bialeckifarms3254
      @bialeckifarms3254  6 років тому +1

      Just about fill the tank leaving it a bit low for mixing. Add the appropriate amounts of fertilizer per the recipe on the bag and gently mix till dissolved. Then we top up the tank to the proper level and plant.

    I visited ChemGro page.. and was unable to find out if their hydro formulas.. are organic or not?..

    • @bialeckifarms3254
      @bialeckifarms3254  6 років тому +1

      They are not an organic supplier. I have linked below to a product that is ORMI certified. I will say I haven't tried it so have no knowledge on how well it will work with this or any other hydroponic method. It is recommended to professional growers so it will likely have good results. hortamericas.com/catalog/fertilizers/pre-empt-organic-fertilizer-2/
