    this is so helpful!! I have no freaking idea how I managed to survive till now without knowing that the best way to make it smooth is to toggle curves in different viewports. I used to teak every F-curve inside Timeline, Jesus.

    awesome video!
    i have a questions. when am in camera and i hold ALT to rotate some how i get this
    blue + icon , instead of a yellow + which i normally know.
    what the blue + sign does is it locks to a center of the screen, it doesnt give me the freedom to move around. is there way to stop it or to go back to the normal ?

    Great, how to you create that cyc wall background?

    • @SeanFrangella
      @SeanFrangella  10 років тому +1

      There are a couple ways to create that, either using a plane and a bend deformer, or a curved spline that is extruded. I get into creating that from scratch in this tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/zILBdnnFrrw/v-deo.html

    Is there any way you could mimic the hand held style camera animation with mix of focus and out of focus feel? Tutorial maybe :)

    • @SeanFrangella
      @SeanFrangella  10 років тому

      Good point! You could animate the focus object and have it moving in and out of space to move the point of focus around a bit to appear human.
      For hand-held movement minus the focus, check out the one I put together about Camera Rigs, including the Motion Camera, which mimics hand-held movement on a shoulder rig: ua-cam.com/video/gFNiSC4kQzI/v-deo.html

Watching your Tutorial links right now...:) I have to say I wish there was a to have a physical Camera that you could use enables us to view the 3d space whilst Action taking place i.e say War or meteoroid flying past - FPV Dodge etc... I guess that is far far away being available to us.

    I'm working on my animation but I ran into a problem with the camera, at 3:04 at the bottom-right where it says "Value Key (3 Elements)" I don't know how to get to that, by normally clicking on the camera it brings me to the basic settings (the name, position, etc) Sorry if this caused you any trouble, I'm a beginner at Cinema4D. Great video by the way! It helped with the other stuff =)

    Many thanks for this excellent tutorial. Subscribed to your channel. The only problem I had with it is that I tried to recreate the cloner object - cube(s) around the sphere and failed. Would appreciate your explanation how to to do it. Thank you!.

    • @SeanFrangella
      @SeanFrangella  9 років тому

      tangomechanic Create a cube and a sphere. Drop the cube into the cloner object. On the cloner, change mode to "object" and drop the sphere into the object. Scale the cube down as needed. With the sphere specifically, to get different results you can change how the geometry is created for the Sphere. On the sphere change "type," and on the cloner you can also adjust how the clones are being put onto the sphere under "distribution."

    Man, this tutorial helped a bit, but the camera in C4D is sooo frustrating.
    Like wth, when I try to make it go linear across some cubes it zooms ALL THE WAY out and then zooms back in again. The camera path looks like an eclipse.
    Why? Is this a bug? I'm on R16 Mac, but I've had the problem with previous versions of C4D for Mac as well...

    • @SeanFrangella
      @SeanFrangella  9 років тому

      That the key frame interpolation, try selecting the keyframes and change it to linear instead of spline. Should help!

    any chance of a camera mapping tutorial hat doesnt use a still image as a background?

    • @SeanFrangella
      @SeanFrangella  9 років тому

      ***** Yes, I've done two on that topic, one using Cinema 4D and one using Element 3D, both where the camera is moving:
      ua-cam.com/video/P9MOHf6XaYY/v-deo.html
      ua-cam.com/video/sn-r1vuHEgg/v-deo.html

    • @JasonBowdach
      @JasonBowdach 9 років тому

      Sean Frangella Loved both of them. I mean more like "projection mapping: using projection man, and the similar technique in AE. Essentially im curious about projecting a "clean plate" onto a layer in AE or c4d, but every tut is usually a still. Does that make more sense? Thanks Sean!

    • @SeanFrangella
      @SeanFrangella  9 років тому +1

      Ah, I haven't done one on that yet, that is using projection man in C4D, but that is a good idea for a new one!
