i don't understand why people say your tutorials are fast. i watch them at 1.5x speed and surely i can follow. Great tutorials. I learn a lot from you. God bless you!!
this is so helpful!! I have no freaking idea how I managed to survive till now without knowing that the best way to make it smooth is to toggle curves in different viewports. I used to teak every F-curve inside Timeline, Jesus.
I have been animated for roughly 8 months now,i came here to check it out cuz I wanted to try learning some new stuff with cameras and I think i just learn something completely Different and YEARNED FOR,HOLY SHIT THANKS!! i DID NOT KNOW ABOUT THE AUTO TANGENT AND CLAMP THING
Awesome, thanks, I appreciate it! Be sure to check out the full After Effects tutorials and articles I have on the full website at www.MotionTutorials.net, and some of the 3D products I have on the site at www.motiontutorials.net/store/ !!
Thanks so much!!! I was always rotating my camera on a cirkel spline around a target. This null-object is so much powerful and easier! I think I love you... ;)
+ilovelamplongtime Awesome, thanks for checking them out. Be sure to check out some of the newer C4D tutorials, I got a way better mic the last year so it doesn't sound like I'm in a closet!
Incredible, thank you so much. It's true that you talk and go very fast but just going step by step and stopping the video constantly, one can follow. Maybe just go a bit slower in the future videos so more people can learn these great techniques. Thanks a lot!
dude video is awesome, i don't think you're speaking too quickly at all, only if you were the MOST MOST MOST novice would you have trouble following, im brand new to this program and you taught me a lot thank you!
+Ben Lewis For sure, thanks for checking out the tutorials! Be sure to check out all the C4D tutorials I have over at this link: www.motiontutorials.net/cinema4d
awesome video! i have a questions. when am in camera and i hold ALT to rotate some how i get this blue + icon , instead of a yellow + which i normally know. what the blue + sign does is it locks to a center of the screen, it doesnt give me the freedom to move around. is there way to stop it or to go back to the normal ?
There are a couple ways to create that, either using a plane and a bend deformer, or a curved spline that is extruded. I get into creating that from scratch in this tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/zILBdnnFrrw/v-deo.html
Good point! You could animate the focus object and have it moving in and out of space to move the point of focus around a bit to appear human. For hand-held movement minus the focus, check out the one I put together about Camera Rigs, including the Motion Camera, which mimics hand-held movement on a shoulder rig: ua-cam.com/video/gFNiSC4kQzI/v-deo.html
Super! I love it! Watching your Tutorial links right now...:) I have to say I wish there was a to have a physical Camera that you could use enables us to view the 3d space whilst Action taking place i.e say War or meteoroid flying past - FPV Dodge etc... I guess that is far far away being available to us.
I'm working on my animation but I ran into a problem with the camera, at 3:04 at the bottom-right where it says "Value Key (3 Elements)" I don't know how to get to that, by normally clicking on the camera it brings me to the basic settings (the name, position, etc) Sorry if this caused you any trouble, I'm a beginner at Cinema4D. Great video by the way! It helped with the other stuff =)
Many thanks for this excellent tutorial. Subscribed to your channel. The only problem I had with it is that I tried to recreate the cloner object - cube(s) around the sphere and failed. Would appreciate your explanation how to to do it. Thank you!.
tangomechanic Create a cube and a sphere. Drop the cube into the cloner object. On the cloner, change mode to "object" and drop the sphere into the object. Scale the cube down as needed. With the sphere specifically, to get different results you can change how the geometry is created for the Sphere. On the sphere change "type," and on the cloner you can also adjust how the clones are being put onto the sphere under "distribution."
Ha, I'm not that young! thanks for checking out the channel and the tutorials! Be sure to take a look at the full site at www.MotionTutorials.net, and don't forget to take a look at some of the C4D products I have up in the online store at www.motiontutorials.net/store
Please Sean,I have a R17 versiion and the key frames are not behaving like your in the video.IE: when you hover over them they turn yellow, mine dont. You can move your key frames around to change position,I cant. What am I doing wrong?Thanx in advance, cheers,SERGIO
After Years of using cinema 4d, now i don't see the 3 colored arrows (those you use to move objects around actually), and if i try to orbit with the camera it doesn't rotate around the point you're pointing and I can't even move it
Man, this tutorial helped a bit, but the camera in C4D is sooo frustrating. Like wth, when I try to make it go linear across some cubes it zooms ALL THE WAY out and then zooms back in again. The camera path looks like an eclipse. Why? Is this a bug? I'm on R16 Mac, but I've had the problem with previous versions of C4D for Mac as well...
Hey, I've got a scene and 3 camera's but when i wanna render my scene it only renders 1 camera movement and not the other 2. So what must I do if I wanna render all my camera movements all at once (and not all the camera's movements separate)??? Thanks
***** Yes, I've done two on that topic, one using Cinema 4D and one using Element 3D, both where the camera is moving: ua-cam.com/video/P9MOHf6XaYY/v-deo.html ua-cam.com/video/sn-r1vuHEgg/v-deo.html
Sean Frangella Loved both of them. I mean more like "projection mapping: using projection man, and the similar technique in AE. Essentially im curious about projecting a "clean plate" onto a layer in AE or c4d, but every tut is usually a still. Does that make more sense? Thanks Sean!
This is Cinema 4D on a mac, but if you are using 3DS max you could run it on a mac using parallels if you wanted to boot it up through Windows on a mac.
Sean Frangella::: Man use learned to use all them programs that are on your Dock??? how the heck ,guess when you Learn one, you pretty much get the idea, of the tools.
WAEL OMAR This was recorded using R15, so things might be slightly different. You can also add or change shortcuts by going to Window > Customization > Customize Palette
Hey! I'm a new producer/artist trying to get some exposure for some of my tracks. I'd love to let you use the music for free in some of your videos. I'm just looking for credit. Let me know if you have any interest, you can hear the songs on my channel. If you like it I can send over the mp3. Thanks!
you know your stuff, but you go way too fast. you need to maybe slow it down a bit. I stopped watching this video because I got tired of going back in time in the video. Slow it down!!
Thanks for checking out the tutorials, I try to keep a good pace going to keep the videos around 20 minutes, but in more recent ones I've cut down on the editing a bit so it isn't so quick.
Okay cool, I definitely learned something from your video, I just hated the fact that it was hard for me to keep up even though it was a video. Good stuff though.
Best C4D camera tutorial I’ve seen. I learned so much in just 15 minutes, and he didn’t try to sell me anything. Just could use a better mic
i don't understand why people say your tutorials are fast. i watch them at 1.5x speed and surely i can follow.

Appreciated your fantastic tutorial, It truly helped me to understand more about cameras!!
Awesome, thanks! And yeah, animating cameras in 3D can get tricky especially if you just want to know where the hell your handles went.
Amazing... That will save me so much time...

I'm not sure, I haven't ran into that, but I'll see if I can figure out where that is coming from.
Great, how to you create that cyc wall background?
There are a couple ways to create that, either using a plane and a bend deformer, or a curved spline that is extruded. I get into creating that from scratch in this tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/zILBdnnFrrw/v-deo.html
Awesome.. thanks a lot
Is there any way you could mimic the hand held style camera animation with mix of focus and out of focus feel? Tutorial maybe :)

Sean Frangella Thanks, Sean. Appreciate your response and the time taken!
Amazing Tut
Well Explain ... Nepal
You should really change the display resolution while creating this kind of videos so that font size scaling is good for eye..
These days I scale it down to 1920x1080, a couple years back I was way too excited about recording at the full resolution of the iMac.
Gracias
thank u for the tutorial bro , i have a problem , i can't select the point of the path can you help me ? thanks
hey, sean, what is a good school to go to to learn adobe stuff and is the name of the clases to take??? thanks jim
Hi.
I try to rotate the camera + set the key frames.
But the camera won't rotate when I play it.
Why?
OMG HOW BIG IS UR SCREEN?
The whole wall.
Very useful tutorial again :) Shared it on motionanddesign.net :)
Thanks!
Schooling the old folks my man.
Ha, I'm not that young! thanks for checking out the channel and the tutorials! Be sure to take a look at the full site at www.MotionTutorials.net, and don't forget to take a look at some of the C4D products I have up in the online store at www.motiontutorials.net/store

Try holding alt or option when you are adjusting the handles.
After Years of using cinema 4d, now i don't see the 3 colored arrows (those you use to move objects around actually), and if i try to orbit with the camera it doesn't rotate around the point you're pointing and I can't even move it
+pikasfed323 Alt+D will turn that on and off, try that!
+Sean Frangella yeah thanks, I figured it out by myself anyway!
between splines it slows down. how do i make it move in the same speed the whole time ?
Man, this tutorial helped a bit, but the camera in C4D is sooo frustrating.
Like wth, when I try to make it go linear across some cubes it zooms ALL THE WAY out and then zooms back in again. The camera path looks like an eclipse.
Why? Is this a bug? I'm on R16 Mac, but I've had the problem with previous versions of C4D for Mac as well...
That the key frame interpolation, try selecting the keyframes and change it to linear instead of spline. Should help!
Oh, ok thanks dude! I'll try that.
Real Hip Hop Beats THANKS!
Hey, I've got a scene and 3 camera's but when i wanna render my scene it only renders 1 camera movement and not the other 2. So what must I do if I wanna render all my camera movements all at once (and not all the camera's movements separate)??? Thanks
Use stage
what about Y position--!! how can I change the position issue.. cause.. the camera rotates even when I don't want
+Luis Klimaco You could add a Protection tag and lock the Y position (right click > Cinema 4D Tags > Protection)
how do i render the camera movements? when i try to render the movements it only renders a still image. please help
Be sure to click the black/white box next to the camera to show the viewport in the camera view. That might be it.
i got it thanks
any chance of a camera mapping tutorial hat doesnt use a still image as a background?
***** Yes, I've done two on that topic, one using Cinema 4D and one using Element 3D, both where the camera is moving:

Ah, I haven't done one on that yet, that is using projection man in C4D, but that is a good idea for a new one!
Sean Frangella Ive gotten really interested and your tutorials are awesome! Many thanks
How Do You do that that you click a key and it shows up on the screen ?
It is a Mac app called mousepose.
Ooooo Do you think That you can do that with windows ?
Shift Animations | SpeedArts Yes you can
if you calculate money of his machine with the software installed in it, It costs over $20,000 wow
Your monitor is huge
I've scaled down the resolution to account for that in some of the newer tutorials, definitely realized it was too big for screen cap!
+Sean Frangella :)
+VisualGraphics its because he is using a iMac
I have a 27' Monitor ...
same look with any 4k monitor :-)
I cant click the keyframe button??
If you are on R15 or earlier, you'll need to command/control + click for keyframing. Starting with R16 you don't need to hold command/control anymore.
man, your talking fast
i watch tutorials in 2x or 1.5x speed but i had to go all the way down to 1 for this :D
why is this uploaded in 360p
EsmealiumCraft Gaming
EsmealiumCraft Gaming The settings for all my videos go up to 1080p.
how did you install 3ds max on mac?
This is Cinema 4D on a mac, but if you are using 3DS max you could run it on a mac using parallels if you wanted to boot it up through Windows on a mac.
Thanks man, i know this is CD4. but i see 3ds max on your menu list down there. How did you install that bro?
I think that might be a Maya icon, I don't have 3DS Max installed.
Sean Frangella::: Man use learned to use all them programs that are on your Dock??? how the heck ,guess when you Learn one, you pretty much get the idea, of the tools.
shortcut in cinema4d not working .. how i can fix it ??
Which one?
Sean Frangella i have Cinema4d Broadcast R14
WAEL OMAR This was recorded using R15, so things might be slightly different. You can also add or change shortcuts by going to Window > Customization > Customize Palette
that black square is not working for me WHYYYYY IM DYING

+David Amber Cool for sure, let's talk in email: Sean@SJanimate.com
just sent you an email with the songs and info! Let me know if you need anything else from me. Thanks again.
What is the rush? In order to make a good tutorial you have to slow down, explain more, produce the exercise file etc. All I heard is a lot of noise.
I'm new to this software and I find his tutorial helpful to me. So, what's your point?
No idea what he said
Seriously.
Should sign up for an English class then xD lmao

you talk a lot and so fast
Iced coffee all day.
I must say, it is rather hard to follow after a while - given the pace that you're talking. Do you ever breathe between sentences?
