This never gets old. Still one of my absolute favourite video game compositions, all genres, all ages. Comparing to the video game scoring of today, that says a lot.
Perfect balance between showing off and bombarding the senses, and making a musical journey out of it. Always struck me as perfect from beginning to end.
I heard this tune for the first time in the PC version of Pinball Fantasies, with PC Speaker! Despite the poor instrument to play it, it was the best composition I'd ever heard in a computer game to the date. Not much later I got a Soundblaster and heard it with a better quality, but it didn't really improve a lot, it was so good even the PC speaker could make it go through. As of today, I can only think in a couple of videogame tunes I will remember forever: The intro of Monkey Island, the intro of Warcraft II and of course, Pinball Fantasies.
When i listened on amiga i was sure it was 3 songs edited together, its so well done. (this is missing the transition sample when the song loops, and it plays on the beginning) the intro blends into to this song so perfectly its hard to tell.
I always wondered how this piece would sound if played sorted by the pattern number, after all this should be the chronological story of how Olof got the ideas?
IS THERE ANY PRACTICAL WAY TO CONVERT ALL THOSE TRACKS IN MIDI FILES, TO THEN USE THEM IN A MODERN SOFTWARE AND VST???? I'VE BEEN DREAMING THAT SINCE A KNEW THE TERM MIDI AND DAW (2010)

One of the best games from my childhood...mostly because of the soundtracks like with alot of the games on the amiga

the golden age of computer games!
I remember when I was a kid, loading this mods and be crazy how they made all the variations and fx out of those few samples..
