Bought an used one and the od side has a subtle white noise even with no gain, if I turn the bias counter clockwise the noise turns louder, does anyone have an idea of what it might be? Everything works okay, it's just this noise that sometimes gets a little annoying
I think it needs to replace at least one of the transistors on the OD side. Hiss or white noise when turn bias might be a leaking transistor. You can try swap those from Dist side they are just clipping diodes so they might be in good shape.
Interested in purchasing one of these. Just bought a green Russian clone that severely disappointed. It behaves more like a distortion than a fuzz, not compressing or sustaining enough and no flabby, torn speaker emulation. Have you tried a green Russian? How do you feel this compres?

Compares*
I would buy a triangle or ram’s head reissue if you want compression and sustain. This is more of a velcro type fuzz.
