Yeah. I get the point of the video, but it greatly undermines the incredible heartbreak Frank must be and will be suffering under for the foreseeable future. Raising a little brother for eighteen years only to have him die unexpectedly must crush a man. I wouldn't hold it against him for a second if he quit music forever just because of that.
blonde is easily my favorite album of all time. the overall sense of nostalgia really struck a chord with me and i’ve listened to it hundreds of times over and over again
Incredible album. It came out when I was living in Canada (from Australia) and years later now I'm home and I listen it gives me nostalgic chills unlike any other album
Frank is a “unicorn” artist in my view. You can’t compare him to anyone else in his time. He disappears from the public eye then hits you with an album that makes you reflect on your views on music and what you want to hear. There will never be another frank ocean. Another great video, keep it up ☝️
Honestly, I wouldn’t be mad if frank didn’t drop for another couple of years. It’s refreshing to know he’s in a position where if he wanted to drop something he would and has the privacy unlike most artists nowadays. I really hope he’s doing okay, especially with everything to do with this brother. I still see people begging him to drop the album even after the news is just disrespectful imo. Every project he’s put out has just been a classic and can’t wait when he does come out what’s next for him. Also dude great video, loved the editing on this one. Keep it up !
Personally I really appreciate a slower album cycle because quality > quantity. With Frank’s albums, I love that I know the words and melodies to all the songs and can recall them so easily because I’ve grown with them and replayed them multiple times over multiple years. Artists who release regularly large bodies of work 18+ songs/album don’t have that kind of staying power in your mind. I kinda wish all artists were better at curating and streamlining their albums bc 20+ songs is way too much imo…
Frank is the voice of this generation because he managed to encapsulate the main feeling this whole late 80's early 90's babies has experienced most of their lives: nostalgia.
His independent feeling is up to him meanwhile his fans/base interrupted him for begging more music rather than questioning how's everything goes so far...
I like Tyler the creator's way of making music, he has a cycle of dropping an album every two years aprox. (dropping some singles in between) and he always manages to drop fresh music which is constantly being better and better, even tho he has a cycle of 2 years he drops good quality music and a good quantity of it, so i think Tyler is a great mix of both quality and quantity PD: Loved the video! ❤
Frank has been putting out music, just not an entire album. Since 2016 he has put out two singles every year and maybe he creates something when he feels inspired.
Frank ocean is one of those artists where his songs and albums are so impactful and have a much deeper meaning that you can never get tired of his music like I’ve been listening to him for 2 years and non of his music gets too repetitive to me he is 100% one of the most impactful artists of our generation and my favorite artist too
"Endless" is my favorite project. It feels like one cohessive story and has a raw sound to it compared to his other works. When I listen to Endless I never have a desire to skip over a track like I do some of his other songs.
really really really really well made loved it - I really hope he releases something though and i'll wait forever for it cause he's music is so timeless.
I hope he drops in 2022 . I still listen to blond every day, I’m not sad and I don’t miss anyone but Frank’s music makes me feel and that more then any other artist in today’s music
as an artist this somewhat gave me the biggest comfort because ever since i started uni i drew less and less like one or two full piece and sketched here and there before being wayy too caught up in my schoolwork and mental health and other things. Ive even been loosing the energy to draw despite always coming up with ideas, and even feeling guilty for not posting as much despite having art ive already made for myself. All im saying that quality is definetly greater than quantity bc now that i recently got back to drawing a bit more i get to really focus on what to improve and the art styles, all while taking my damn time, and it makes me so damn happy.
This rlly it with the real art doesn’t fade. Blond been playing in my head for like 2 years+ now and I can’t say the same for many other artist which shows quality over literally everything. Ily mr ocean
finally I have listeners who understand quantity and quality, it's the same issue with Kendrick, if you connect with these artists you won't trip to wait, I know it'll be fire and greatly worked when it does come out
endless is my favorite frank project because the notes he hits in some of those songs make it sound like pure heaven to me, the way it echoes and the melocholy of it all just comforts me so much and hits perfectly in the dark as I go to sleep, and my fav frank song is Acura integrel, just absolutely beautiful lyrics and production
choosing quantity over quality can definitely give an artist a lot of streams and overall boost their popularity, but choosing quality over quantity like frank has is what creates things like loyal fanbases giving said artist a much longer and more impactful run in the music industry.
i think quality over quantity really depends on the artist. because there are some artists where dropping frequently has really worked for them such as artists like tyler who drop every other year, or rappers like jpegmafia who just drop whenever they feel like it. but overall i do think quality matters way more than quantity, frank ocean could announce hes never making music again and i can’t say id be too upset because the music hes already given has so much value already. but frank himself has proven himself as an artist very early on, there are still artists i feel have yet to reach their potential or expand their range yet and i do think it at the end of the day it really depends on the artist.
Nostalgia ultra because I feel like it introduces a sound that makes you feel a certain way which has stuck and became consistent with his later projects. Which explains the reason why it has so much replay value. To me, that sound is “nostalgic”. No pun intended
david lynch once said something like people loving closure, and maybe not exactly the same thing, i like the mystery of frank. i of course want more music but nothing gets me more excited then a super rare new frank related anything
