CST was a great man in the Wing Chun lineage that he followed. He was great because he was so skilled, and was just as humble. I have the most respect for humble masters and the least respect for those who are ego driven. It is the ego that holds us all back.
I have to agree with tutanota about your lack of understanding. Just so you know Grandmater Chu was a fighter and was never beaten. Just remember where he grew up and what it was like, pretty tough. Most of the old master from HK from ip man line anyway had to fight and did all the time.
Honest question... Can somebody please tell me why so many of these Grandmasters of Tai Chi kung fu or Qi Gong died at relatively young ages? I am a practitioner of Tai Chi Qigong and TCM. I know people who are overweight smoke and drink way too much that have lived longer LOL. Honestly the only one that I know of that could boast about longevity was TT Liang. I'm genuinely interested in anyone's response. I'm sure there are exceptions but most die relatively young. Many had said it was due to the poor nutrition in China when they were children and young adults. Could be. But I don't think all of them were poor. Relaxation and longevity and functionality is my focus. Any reply would be appreciated. Be well
I don´t belive it´s about living longer. It´s about having a richer and more energetic life. It´s about how much energy and vitality you have the last 20 years of your life that matters. This is where you have to compare.
Sigung was more than 80 years old when he passed away. He was diagnosed with late stage cancer and told he was terminal but he recovered and was able to keep the illness at bay for a number of years. Apparently he said he could feel the cancer in his body and he actively suppressed it and in the later years when it began to get worse he dealt with the pain by using Nim Tao. www.scmp.com/article/978732/grandmaster-wing-chun-wins-fight-cancer
Very good question..Ip man also died because of cancer as Vst..Cancer etyology you know,genetic-enviromental factors etc.Smoking, high carbohydrated nutrients like race. But the point is,he lived with stage 4 cancer for seven years,no kt,no western treatment. This is miracle, stage 4 hepatic tumor and stage 4 kidney tumor.Nim lik as he defined,or chi we know, helped him as i understand. Also Vst were very weak and unhealthy child,so his family sent him kung fu education.Long story but Master Vst,i think, the most important figure of internal martial arts.Respect to him,God bless him.Now we are learning many things from him.
Thank you 😊 I remember I had a dream about rooting, my Sifu explained to my in my dream that the secret is in the elbow ,,, letting the pushing force go through your hand arm elbow body straight into the ground: Now when I woke up I knew how to root and it never went away, so went to my school and had everyone try to push me over not even My Sifu couldn’t move me and he said you understand now 🎉 it’s like you are wrestling with a thought and you have to know the way Yet it’s what I call un learning unbelief meaning you no longer can’t do something because you’ve learned how , you’ve got rid of your unbelieving,
so you say that Tsui Sheung Tin has no understanding of the reality of fighting.jaja he is one of the best students of Yip Man and is one of the few who can have the title of grandmaster."dry land swimming" bruce lee would have never said that to Tsui Sheung Tin because he knew he would set him on his ass.go and spar with masters of other arts and Wing Chun that have 79.and then try to touch master Tsui Sheung Tin and then tell me if he is the one without understanding of the reality of fighting
Chu Shong Tin would have broken Bruce Lee in one move. Understand: Lee never truly learned Wing Chun [he was a troublemaker who had to flee to San Francisco before he learned the second [full] form of Wing Chun. Ip Man was more well known at the time [in martial circles] than people realize. Lee used his brief [and mostly indirect] time with Ip Man to bolster [and replace] him. WSL mostly taught Lee due to his arrogance [Ip Man refused to train Ler on more than one occasion because of this]. History: Lee was a school boxing champion who studied all sorts of Kung Fu until a JUNIOR student of Ip Man [only 2 weeks of training] DESTROYED Lee. From then on Lee stalked Ip Man hoping to learn Wing Chun. Luckily, WSL [a student of Ip] took pity on Lee and was charged with his training. Sadly, Lee learned little of the system before having to flee to SF. His "vaunted" duel was NOT against a Wing Chun user but against a Taiji and Hung Gar practitioner. Lee respected [and rightfully] feared Ip Man even trying to buy Ip Man a building and school [Ip Man refused]. Lee should not be considered an "authority" of Wing Chun, but, instead, of JKD [based more on Western boxing and Japanese martial arts than CMA], which Lee created.
RIP sigung you are one of the last greats of wing chun
Correct. He was one of the few who sought the truth in Wing Chun.

This seriously just elevated my practice.
CST was amazing. I love the joy he exudes when teaching.

Why some WC schools want to add qigong if they have SLT?
Different engine to produce power, diff interpretation...
so that have a form that complements their pipe dream
@Nephronial And why is that?

這才是真正的詠春心法
Hey Sergio, why can you fight with Xu XIAODONG?
這是 太極拳!
Grandmaster Chu Shong Tin not Sifu.
Thank you. Correct.

It's YOU who has no understanding.
