Epic images. It doesn't have to be narrated. Pictures are telling the story. What a relief compared to all the self-publicizing sailing videos here on youtube. Thanks so much!
Agree 100% Especially Sailing la vagabonde. It was my best channel before, and I was a patreon... But what they become now its full advertising. Worst sailing channel on youtube. Nice to see great sailing in grey sea!
I grew up on the sea and have been watching literally hundreds of different sailing channels recently with a view to returning to this great love of the ocean. This is without doubt the highest quality of photography and film editing that I have seen out of thousands of episodes of sailing. Please continue to make more, as these two videos have been for me absolutely the finest and most enjoyable to watch I have seen. Stunning documentary. Monumental adventure and achievement on many levels. Clear passion just for the love of it. Inspiration on every level and a joy to see what lies ahead for me. The North. Tusind Tak min ven. Det var det bedst.
A thousand thanks back, my friend. This is the most beautiful comment I've read. I never thought that these little videos, without voice-over, could really interest other people. It's a joy - and a real surprise - to discover that this is not the case. There are still a few of us who are longing for silence and salt... Good luck to you in all your future travels on the water!
@@Pandorak Your cinema skills are phenomenal. The way you protray the movement of the boat, the passing of time and the coming and going of weather. The way you inconspicuously capture adjusting the sails, laying/pulling anchor, plotting coarse. The way you capture the sounds of the boat, the water, the wind, the birds etc. Even sharing the catching and preparing meals. It all miraculously joins in a brilliant symphony of creation, life and seamanship! Encore, encore All the best
Beautifully, for me this are the two most inspiring sailing video’s on UA-cam, Faroe Islands and Norway. I’m a Belgian skipper and sailed mainly from the Netherlands to the south, but my next adventure wil go definitely to the north , sailing Norway to the artic circle and back viaThe Faroe Islands, Shetland Islands , Scotland and back. Thank you for sharing, Koen Hontelé
Terrific. I'll watch for you. I'm going to head North at least to the Shetlands as well, then cross over to Norway. I'll buy you a beer if we cross paths. Best regards
Ce sera avec plaisir Patrick! The Shetlands are amazing. If you can, don’t miss Fair Isle. I spent one week there on my way back. Truly amazing people (about 60 inhabitants + some crazy “birdies”). I’ll definitely go back there one day. Next summer I plan to sail to the west coast of Norway and explore the fjords around Bergen. But this time I would like to winterize Pandorak in Norway, in order to reach the Lofoten in 2019. Bon vent!
Simply exceptional, what an inspiration! Have been getting frustrated with so many rich kid, bikini clad, faux sailing 'adventures' on here. You have a rare talent, beautifully filmed. You convey your journey in such a visceral way. Thank you, I now know what i've been searching for all this time!
Stunning videography Pandorak! You've inspired me and so many others to cast off the lines and explore this incredible world. Thank you so much for sharing your journey and video making skills.
That was one of the best films I have ever seen. Stunning cinematography, beautiful music. The ariel clifftop shots had us on the edge of our seats! Please, please, please make more. Although my wife has been to the isles before, she now wants to sail there, I'll need a bigger boat :)
Tons of thanks David ! If your wife want to sail there, you definitely found the good person ;-) . So count your blessings and go sailing, no matter the size of your boat (ok, I would say 24 foot is the minimum...) Fair winds and following seas to you two!
Certainly one of the best sailing videos ever. Beautiful photography, stunning aerial shots, perfect music, great editing - the pictures tell the story. Bravo!
What sweet heaven have I stumbled upon here? I'd all but given up on seeking a sailing video that concentrated on capturing and documenting the journey and the destination in a natural way, the genuine bells and whistles. Beautifully shot and edited work
Now that's sailing so many have forgotten what sailing is about thanks you so much great memories for me great shots of real sailing it's a privilege to sail with you
This is the way a sailing channel should be. Exceptional footage, good music, gimbal stabilized, and looking at the destinations beyond just partying and restaurants. Amazing video.
Simply stunning! Thank so very much for posting this amazing footage. I hope one day that you can experience the Australian coast and maybe see Jack Johnson live. 🙋♂️
I have done a few passages and sailed most of my life although not for some time now. You made me remember how wonderful it is. What a superb destination and you were lucky with the conditions. A great trip.
Came back for more - I may not ever be able travel to these places - but i have no regrets my soul has traveled - what a breath taking views.... eagerly awaits for more .
A work of art! I lived in Hoorn for 9 years. Love the place! My youngest son still lives there, so I'm still visiting quite often. The Faroe Islands look absolutely amazing! Thanks so much for uploading.
@Pandorak I looked up your channel on Patrick's recommendation and I am awestruck with this production of your - as is said in another comment here: no words needed. I'm a local and know a tiny bit about sailing in Faroese waters, mainly from a traditional Faroese 5-mannafar, which is an approx. 20 ft open wood boat. I've also tried climbing mountains and bird cliffs, even the steep eastern end of Tindhólmur. And I have to say that those aerial shots and close fly-bys at Kallur and more actually gave some of that real life rush feeling which can be hard to convey through film, and you mastered it perfectly. You and Patrick and Barry that old Seadog add fuel to my dreams of some day taking on some bigger boat and go exploring. Thank you! Cheers to good health and safe travels :)
Hoi Leonie, graag! Pandorak ligt nu aan de wal maar zal in april weer in het water gaan, aan de Vlietersteiger, nr. 263 . Ik ben nu de boot aan het isoleren, wil volgend zomer naar Noorwegen zeilen (en daar de boot laten). Groetjes, Fabrice
Amazingly beautifully filmed. Absolutely among the best videos of sailors I've seen and I've seen MANY! A little funny ... I did not see your movie until today and the day you released it was about the day we bought a HR monsoon in an exceptionally good condition ourself. I dream of a trip like yours - from Denmark to the Faroe Islands. Jack Johnson is by far one of my favorites - appropriate music selection in the big water! Thanks for the great experience and for sharing! 🇩🇰 Best greetings from Denmark! 😃👍
Hi Kenneth, that's funny because I watched your videos before tou watched mine ;-) Mazurka looks in perfect condition. I wish you guys a lot of fun with that boat. Sailing to the faroe in summer is no big deal, especially with a Monsun ;-) Fair winds !
extremely lovely landscapes and very nicely captured. Thanks a bunch for revealing this beauty. I can't resist to fly there and gaze at those peaks for hours or may be days. 8-)
OMG! That has been one of the most amazing sailing videos so far. Goodness. There are so many wonderful journeys on youtube still waiting to be discovered. Thank you! Thank you for this quality of production and amazing journey!
That was the most beautiful video. I am new to sailing and you are doing exactly what I want to do. Your video is my new happy place. I can watch it over and over again. So beautiful. La mer, c'est ma mere. Merci xoxo
Excellent video! Really captured what it feels like to be there, and shows off those islands. That sequence from the drone with the cruising chute and the huge shark fin island was great! Hope there's more videos to come.
