I just tried the first method. 1 trial I destroyed the turrets myself and waited 17 days in Vault 88. another trial were turrets that were already destroyed a long time ago and waited 20 days at the Castle. The burning piles were still there.
I haven't tested all the ins and outs of the method. Old saves could still have an issue removing turrets. Something I did think about was the decisions in the questline for Covenant might affect the behaviour of the turrets. For instance, if the turrets become hostile towards the Sole Survivor, would they still despawn if destroyed? I'm unsure of that. In the questline, I sided with Honest Dan and freed the granddaughter of Old Man Stockton. Which in turn causes me to "eliminate" all of the people in the compound. That turns the settlers of Covenant hostile towards me but the turrets were not. Could that be why the turrets despawn for me? Again, I'm unsure. To question your comment: - In your first trial, did the remains of the turrets stay even after waiting 17 days? - In your second trial, can you recall if those turrets were hostile toward you when you destroyed them?
Tried this on Xbox X today. Didn’t work. Waited for 16 days and the smoking turrets remain. I sided with Honest Dan just like you did. The turrets never turned hostile even though all of the human residents did.

Interesting... It seems there might be something up on saves before the new update preventing my method from working. The save I'm on currently was generated after the new update.
Do you have a video that teaches us newbies how to use the keyboard command like how to open it and whatnot or do you know a good video that is like yours very informative and simple to understand like this video? Fallout 4 is my very first computer game I've only ever played Mario and games like Mario. My boss only started using a computer. I lost McCready I can't find him anywhere and all the articles I googled said I need to type his something in a something rather. By the way you do amazing at describing how to do things thank you

This is probably one of the shittiest games i own. Next gen update my fucking ass. No bugs are fixed and some are worse, like this. Hopefully i get this to work, thank you
I agree, the only thing they did with the next gen update is adding creation club stuff into the game for free while messing a lot of stuff up. Bugs and glitches like Tina and Trader Riley are still there and for these turrets in particular are still a problem to remove

Why would Bethesda ruin a settlement with so much potential with permanent beds and destroyed turrets.

Console commands do not disable achievements. That is only in Starfield.

Also question, do you do the first method before you access the workshop or you can do it after you access it?
I would recommend doing it after you access the workshop so that way they do not attack you.
