The reason you see Finnick so odd is that he did have a mega break down in the books. Finnick is so cool, and you can say a jerk in Catching Fire because he had to portray a certain image, the heartbreaker, the bad boy. That how he won his games, from that start he was a capital favorite at 14, he got the most expensive item sent to him by a sponsor in the games. He was so handsome, loved and lusted after by the Capital that Snow forced him into prostitution well he was underage, or he would kill someone he loved. He was forced to for years, he was 24 when we meet him, so that with going into 2 hunger games and seeing Mags die who was like a mother to him and being a mentor like Haymitch for years, watching kids you mentor die catched up with him, but what broke him was Annie, not knowing what was happening to her and knowing what Snow is real capable of, what monster he was, and she was the only person he loved, since Mags died. Also i think he felt save enough to break down since he was away from the Capital and didn't have to worry about keeping a front for the Capital and Snow.
Thank you so much for the breakdown. I thought he was a bit of a creep at first but he grew on me tremendously throughout the series. And I didn’t realize he had such a sick past it’s amazing that he managed to keep his good personality through all of that
Not sure if you know but there is no sound twice in this video. The first is fairly short, when Katniss sings the Hanging Tree song, but then it happens again at the end from 44:48 to about 47:58.
I am SO excited for your part 2 reaction. It’s a very polarizing movie but I honestly love it so so much. You have such amazing reactions and as a massive fan of THG series-you’re super thoughtful with your comments!
The districts were not allowed to communicate with each other. You can see how knowing that plus the fact that they pitted the districts against each other in the hunger games it took so long for subjugation to end.
@@JustAGuyReacts There are civvies for sure. I want to liken it to living on base? Kind of. Military/civilian mix. Only, they're quite strict in their restrictions and obviously deep underground. Effie touches on it in the movies when she mentions the lack of coffee. Gale too, when he says Coin agreed they could hunt. Small hints but the books expand on the entire system in ways that the movie didn't. Not hating (I love the books and movies so much), just stating. If you still plan to read them, I would be very interested in a vlog of book updates, I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Your hunger games reactions are the best I've seen! You pick up on so many of the important details that other people seem to miss. I love that you recognize the deeper meaning of these movies! Loving this and can't wait to finish the other two videos.
34:56 in this scene in the book Katniss says at that moment she only wanted Haymitch to comfort her because he loves Peeta, too❤️ she basically admitted to loving Peeta🧡💚 plus it’s a heartwarming moment between Katniss and Haymitch🥰
I love your reactions! You pick up on small details and understand the story better than most i've seen. Excited for part 2 and future movie reactions! Would love to see you do animated some animated stuff like Big Hero 6, The Incredibles, Coco and so on. But keep it up! New subscriber here :)
Thank you! I previously had a “Studio Ghibli Saturday” theme but I had to drop that due to copyright issues. I’m planning on replacing it with an “animated Saturdays” theme and I will put these movies on my list!
@@JustAGuyReactsOh man if you’re taking suggestions for animated films I have to suggest Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, best animated film and my all-time favorite movie :D
Exactly. The Capitol owns the Victor's Village houses. Side note: when a victor dies, their family has to vacate the Victor's Village house and go back to their assigned one. As @ptitepeluche05 said, the Capitol keeps these houses to lodge Capitol officials when they visit the district.
That makes sense! I thought it might be Snow destroying everything but Katniss house to mess with her head but I didn’t understand the Capital owned it
40:27 We have a power off like that in Venezuela during 2019, we were use to breaks of power like 4 or 12 hours in a day. But something was strange after the first day, we have a power lost for a week in the whole country, everything was a mess, they bring back the power but only for like a day. Until power goes off again for another week
not sure why you had to mute the most intense part when peeta is choking her. there are a lot of reactions to these movies and nobody else i've seen had to mute that part.
I can't wait for your reaction to Mockingjay Part 2. I also suggest the prequel - The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes. You'll understand why Snow became a ruthless/merciless dictator.
Victors' Village is separate from the rest of the town in District 13. Hamich and Peeta also have houses in it. Why must Haymitch stay sober? Perhaps you need to consider how people actually cope with traumatic experiences.
Thanks for explaining the Victors Village. Haymitch should stay sober because he doesn’t drink socially or responsibly. He abuses alcohol as a means to cope with all he has been through. Don’t get me wrong, I understand why he drinks so heavily. Nevertheless it is unhealthy both physically and mentally and I think he should get help.
So as soon as you're done with the main series movies aka the trilogy you need to watch the prequel movie before you start reading the books it's set when snow is a teenager but being a boy from the capital he was not in the hunger games but there was some involvement he had with the 10th annual hunger games and that led to him becoming a monster he is now

Very good break down of poor Finnick👍🏻

Saddest part about the Peeta thing is that he said from the start he just didn’t want them to change him, then they freaking make him attack Katniss 💔
22:17 District 13 is/was Military, Boggs says as much when he's taking the elevator with Katniss, explaining how they learned to survive down below.
Ah I see I got that I just didn’t understand if everyone from the district was military or were there civilians in the mix?

Peeta has always been strong. That + the adrenaline...
12:20 - oh sweet summer child
They let the victor's houses intact so that the capitole people coming to 12 would have some places to stay.

Great reaction! You’re able to pick up so much!!
Thank you that means a lot !
They don't need to track them, the capitole know where district 13 is...
I thought the base the insurgents were using might be a secret from the Capitol but now that I think about it it was most likely already there
Great reaction!! I’m so excited to see what you think of part 2. You pointed out things I didn’t pick up on. Keep up the good work! 👏👏👏
Peeta as ALWAYS been really strong. Remember that Katniss said that he would throw 100 pound bags of flour!
That’s true that didn’t even register in the moment! Great point out
5:41 it prob wasn’t on purpose, but this made me giggle. Katniss took the lightning rod part to HEART last movie 😂❤️
Peeta helps keep her sane..
He does. They’re perfect for each other🧡💚

Man that sounds terrible! Did you ever find out what was causing the power outages??
Would of been nice to hear what you were saying but there was no sound after you said he looks bad even from the back...
I love how you use the Minecraft music for your intro
Shoot, your sound cuts out for the biggest reveal in the movie. Guessing copyright got it.

It’s interesting how you compare the scene of shelling in a bunker with the Second World War, although the same thing is happening in Ukraine now

I think UA-cam was being more strict with me at the time because I had a copyright strike lol
Fun fact any scene where Katniss and Gale kiss. She would purposely eat onions before to prank him.
