Interesting to see the strobing effect of the 230vac voltage of 50 cycles with the movement of the chuck in the lathe. As the speed varies so does the strobing effect.

You have to watch such things.. in weaveing factories ...they used to hang an ordinary bulb above the loom....the shuttle could appear to be still, but it flying accross the loom...dangerous
