I actually wish this was in Subnautica. Perhaps have it be the largest leviathan, but it isn’t super mobile. Maybe it mostly rests idle on the sea floor. It looks at you, yes, but because of how large it is, it isn’t aggressive toward you because you’re just not large enough to provide it the energy it needs. But if a Reaper swims by? Hooooooooo boy!
If there's one thing I learned in playing submarine type games, is that you IMMEDIATELY turn off sonar when there's a dangerous creature nearby, hell, turn off lights too.

While I’m not a primordial leviathan of the depths, I would find someone shining a light in my eyes and blowing out my eardrums with sonar pings while I was trying to sleep pretty provocational.
The scale is massive, so as slow as it looks, its mouth travels through the water at 200km/h... and that doesn't matter either, apparently the creature suck the whole submarine and the water area nearby into his mouth by just inhaling. They simply can't escape at that point.

I like this gran maja design! The eyes are slightly pushed away from the center, and the teeth are spread out throughout the mouth instead of most of the teeth being at the center.

Having the sonar on near such creatures is probably the dumbest move you can pull. It's not like the sound is lethal enough to kill a diver at close range

At 212 decibels water flashes into steam, and human bone shatters into powder. We can easily produce sonar at 300+ decibels with modern technology. We don't bother, because there's no point. Being eaten by large unknown organisms is just about the best reason to do so. Just give them a few minutes, and plenty of power and a modern nuclear submarine could probably melt their way through.
Also a single nuclear torpedo could kill this thing easily. People really underestimate how powerful the military is now. We could track this thing across the whole ocean and then kill it from miles away with little difficulty.

To compound this further, the description adds in a size for the Maja, which is to say 675m long. That would put El Grand Maja's mouth as being roughly 160m wide and the drones at roughly 23m long. That seems a bit better.

Odd that it has a high body temp compared to the water. Given the massive size of its mouth and extreme body length relative to its overall mass, you'd think it'd be using a significant portion of its body mass as a massive cooling mechanism.

It takes a lot of experience, a stable mind, pressurized submarines and abnormally huge balls to drive that close to something like that while giving a mildly uncomfortable report
Also, the textures (or lack) on the gums around the teeth and the teeth themselves really detracts from the immersion/realism. It looks plastic. Perhaps try some actual multires sculpting and/or texture mapping cuz it just looked like you modeled it low poly, smoothed it and colored it with one solid color. ? Maybe work on those closeups more. (1:20, ie).
I really love how El Gran Maja here doesn't suddenly snap forward and swallow the sub whole or anything - it's just such a large creature that it doesn't need to. It almost seems like the act of opening its mouth causes enough current to drag the sub in. This must be what it feels like to be a plankton being hunted by a whale.
eyyyy, sea monster animation where the creature actually moves as slowly as it would were it to abide by the laws of physics. I always hated animations that had a cool concept of a big creature, then the animator gets too uppity and makes it do jerks or rapid maneuver shifts that totally obliterate the illusion of the size on display. Big Boiz were never meant to startle or jumpscare with any rapid changes, they are meant to instill dread and terror that moves just as slowly as they do. Well done
they talk about its teeth like weapons,,so that thing is a predator, and it could swallow a whale without trouble so I fear to think what it needs the teeth for.

I always hated animations that had a cool concept of a big creature, then the animator gets too uppity and makes it do jerks or rapid maneuver shifts that totally obliterate the illusion of the size on display. Big Boiz were never meant to startle or jumpscare with any rapid changes, they are meant to instill dread and terror that moves just as slowly as they do. Well done
