- Daytona Bike Week FAIL! In this video I document the highs AND lows of the 2024 Daytona Motorcycle Rally! Good friends, great food and LOTS of cool bikes! My husband @JordanRay got to join me for his first time and we genuinely had a great time. Bonus fun was had when @Marvelkid87 got in town and we headed out for the Ormond Beach Loop. UNFORTUNATELY, The best part of the ride and the only access to the coast within 20 miles, was closed for construction. It really broke my heart and made me super sad that I couldn't show the guys what the coastal ride looked like.
Other than that major disappointment, we had a great time walking down main street and hosting a Meet and Greet with @BlockheadMoto at the @harleydavidson activation.

My vote would be laconia. Lots of hidden gems you can ride to easily weather it's a day trip threw vt maine or New hampshire
Four Corners Rally, in Durango, CO., Million Dollar Highway, San Juan Skyway, Vallacito Lake, Wolf Creek Pass, Mesa Verde, Hwy 141, etc.
Daytona def one of the top ones
Sturgis, Laconia, 🍎's East Coast Sturgis, Leesburg Fla bike week, Thunder Beach Bike Week or Murrells Inlet, SC bike week.
Even when it was closed for bridge repairs GPS woouldnt take you north. But north is the way to go when it's closed. Had you gone down a couple more miles the first main road will take you into Flagler beach. Not sure what day you were out there. Earlier in the week I saw a notification that someone had an accident on that section that was closed. Riding around Daytona is frustrating. Even when there isn't an extra half a million people. :D If you want some more open road riding. Take a trip over to Renegades on the River. Nice little biker friendly restaurant/campground on the St John's river just north of Lake George. US 1 south of Daytona can be nice too. But the only way to get any kind of twistys on most routes is by hitting some side roads.

Perhaps you need to turn off your phone/laptop or whatever and go read a newspaper.
This new Tek drives me mad. Last week I had a engin failure light appear. Inthe bike shop they could find no problems? They did a test and off went the warning light. Then they ran a full test and all was good. And for a CPU hiccup in was relieved of £40. My bike ran just fine before this warning light came on and ran fine with this warning light? Tek is a pain in the bum, at times!

Every time I see your videos, I am inspired to get out and ride anywhere. Dinner is an excuse to ride, the weekend is an excuse to ride and just spending time with my friends is an excuse to ride. Thanks for always being so wholesome and adventurous!

WOW! the Ocean Deck has been there for 30? years. when i used to drink, and lived in Daytona, the Deck was the place. they used to have volley ball right on the beach, where you were sitting for lunch, this brought back good memories, and the loop is a great ride. neat video. i was there(3/8) today, it's really crowded this year, it's crazy!!

We always eat at the deck, we also like deck down under, we were on the Biker Bells ride also.. we'll be at Sturgis, Indian bike week, Biketoberfest and High Seas Rally.. that's are 24 schedule
First time in Daytona this year, and I felt similar about the rides. It was super sweet to see the different scenes and be in the warmer weather, but after riding 500+ miles of straight flat roads, I was snoozing 💤
It was so fun meeting you at the Daytona Speedway! We didn't go to Ocean Deck this time around, but we're definitely trying it next time. Thanks for the recommendation!

Omg. Blast from the past last. Wife and I used to go to Ocean Deck back in the 90s. We actually had a party there the day after we got married!

Youve mentioned that broken door in multiple videos now. Im surprised that Harley has not had you swing by a dealer and get that thing fixed. Its such a small and simple part to replace.
It’s kind of a me thing. I’m at least 40 minutes away from a dealer. And it IS a press bike. So i think it was broken by someone else before i got my hands on it. Because no one else has been having this issue apparently.
Ocean Deck is also one of my favorites. Hull’s Seafood on Granada in Ormond Beach is also a great place to eat.
So glad that I got to meet you & Jordan at the "Meet & Greet". Got your sticker on my bike now. Did that Ormond Loop on Tuesday morning & also saw the road closure but I continued on to St. Augustine instead.

Wow haven't seen any of your videos since my accident in 2021. But guess what? I'm back riding again. Bought a 2023 road Glide 3 trike. I wasn't sure if you heard about my accident or not. Broke by pelvis in half messed up my shoulder or pretty much my whole right side and brain damage and died only one time lol, I've been catching up on your videos. Wow you've gone for a lot of changes. I'm still in Northern Illinois getting ready for motorcycle season. Missed your videos Glad to be back.

Hit A1A and head north to St Augustine. Then hit the St Johns river ride. AKA route 13. Ride the river. You will not be sorry.
That part of the loop may have have been closed due to high tide raising the water level over the road. Not good to run ones bike thru salt water. Living in that area, I will ride the loop alot...

Surprised you let that stop you so easily, there are a couple of different routes you could have taken to bypass the repairs to get to the coastal road

you ned a guide to show you the better places to ride, I lived in Florida and rode that area for almost 8 years. Ialso have extensive knowledge of the ares you have been riding in WV and could definitely help with things like places to see and stay along with things to do and places to eat.

Exactly. Just a bit of wasted time unfortunately, there was a lot of other really cool things we could’ve done instead of ride an hour and a half just to turn around and come right back.
There's no such thing as a "wasted ride"... well, maybe leaving the rally for some 🙄
So did you submit and update that the road was closed? That's where the info comes from, the users. If an address is off, or road is closed submit an update. I do this all the time and it only takes a minute or less.

Doing the loop AFTER Bike Week is always much better :) And yes - that road floods. High tide + we got a lot of rain this week.
My first time back to Daytona after a 20 year absence. I had gone about 25 years in a row prior to that. Knowing all those back roads make the rally better. I am not a fan of sitting in traffic on a hot Harley Davidson. Out of all the rallies I think Sturgis has the best riding. I’ve only been there twice.

I hung out at the track most of the time. I test rode everything out there… almost. I did go to destination Daytona for a few hours.
The flags may have been upside down because of harley davidson copyright controls. They tend to be very picky about stuff like that. Bet there was tons of 'sonic drag racing' on the streets. LOL. Road closures are just part of riding.
I stopped using my hd radio 2 years ago it takes the fun out of it.i use the my phone much ezer 👌✌️

Morning Jess, yet another enjoyable vid - keep em coming 🤘. I gave my grandson the two wheel bug. He took test after test and passed each one. Now hes got his full licance we're off today to Watford (UK) to try and buy a bike & pick up some rinding gear for him. My grandson intents to ride with me to Cornwell this year for a road trip. His father is not impressed with me at all? 🤣🤣🤣

Been there many times, very cool bar.
I live in Ormond Beach and while I admit we don't have many twisties there are plenty of great riding roads here, its not all just the loop. In fact as nice as it is I rarely ride the loop. You can spend the day riding low traffic rural roads, you just have to know where to go. It may not be the Rockies but its beautiful and fun riding.
During the summer, they (Ocean Deck) section off behind the bar and you can go sit outside on the beach and drink/play volleyball whatever. Sit in a nice chair and have your feet in the sand. It's such a good time.

I did the loop on Thursday March 7th and almost every day till Sunday. It was open the whole time. I'm sorry it was closed for you guys! Glad you had fun anyway!
Had you continued going north, you would have ended up in Flagler and take a right at the light would put you to A1A. The same road you were staying on. Next time.

I love that bar especially when there is live music. However last time we were in there. A waiter was nasty to my brother. We had to remind him we all put our pants on the same way. If he wants his head bounced off the floor we can help. Manager told him to go cool off.

Is there a way for google to know a road is closed? I know it uses gps speed from waze users to know about traffic jams, but if no one is on the road, do they have a way to know why?
I have no clue. I assumed FDOT would have a way to update it or something.
