    It's a strange thing to spend £6m on. You could get as much fun from a £2m yacht. You could rent a superyacht each year for a few weeks. So you'd only really want this if you want to live on the boat all year.

    • @tomwatts7715

      Agreed however, different owners will have different needs. From having crew to the amount of guests to storage and how far they are wanting to go.
      If you have the dosh and can afford the extra costs then I say why not!

      @@tomwatts7715 compared to a £6m house this is not an investment...it quickly loses value. Seems strange thing to own,

      This wouldn't be ANYWHERE near my price range but I'm recently half toying with the idea of a starter boat for a season to see where it leads, but I've also done the quick calculation on owning versus chartering for something like the size that we would actually aim for, and I think in my case unless you're planing on spending a few months with the boat then chartering starts to look like pretty good value when you're into the realms of seven figure boats. Less hassle too.

    what every time amazes me on these multi million dollar yachts is the total lack of an office space for the owner to work . Can' t think that all rich inherited their wealth and they are just scratching balls....

    • @Boatscouk

    Joystick navigation available to get some ips like handling as combining the shaft with bow and stern thrusters?

    • @Boatscouk
      @Boatscouk  3 роки тому +1

      Yes you can do that but she really does not need it. So easy to drive 👌

    • @darthkek1953
      @darthkek1953 3 роки тому +1

      The thing about joysticks is they spin on the centre of the boat. That's fine on a boat up to 50 foot or so, you have full sight and control of bow and stern and it makes sense to twizzle it in. On 90-footer it becomes less useful, less real-life room to manoeuvre in the marina, the elements are more likely to catch one end before you have finished your move, so you are less likely to want the centre-point counter-rotation. Direct control with engines and thrusters becomes more easy than a joystick.

    Is all that cheap laminate wood really worth £6m?

    • @Boatscouk
      @Boatscouk  2 роки тому

      It’s not cheap laminate but all boats have laminate. If you use normal wood it distorts with the moisture.

      Hi Keith - this price includes Uk vat at 20% , a good amount of extras and a little bit off. We like to tell you the actual price you would have to pay for a boat all in. We call this the turnkey price internally 😊

    • @keith-777
      @keith-777 3 роки тому +2

      @@Boatscouk Thanks for that. Nick from aquaholic quoted as £4.2M a year ago but that will have been ex taxes and without the extras, though what the extras could be is beyond me. the Y85 is my all time favourite yacht and would appear to have it all.

    If I had £6,000,000 it would not be enough to own this boat.
    I would need another £250,000 per year minimum for running costs (that's without a crew).
    £11,000 for one fill up of diesel.
    Thousands for mooring berths.
    Insurance £25,000 to £50,000 per year.
    Maintenance, servicing, repairs, cleaning...minimum £10,000 per year.
    So I wouldn't buy one unless I had double the £6,000,000 being £12,000,000.
    Saying that, if I had £12,000,000, I would be strait on the phone to Princess with my options already selected!

      £250k seems a bit high. But yes you'd quickly climb to £100k. Don't forget if you pimp your yacht out, e.g. 6 weeks at £75k charter, that's £450k. You'd need crew, commercial licence, etc., but a few weeks of chartering will definitely mitigate running costs.

    Very nice boat, but I miss the port side door on the bridge. That massive fly bridge looks like a great place to be all day once the boat gets to the Med. However, since this boat won't have a lot of crew the captain needs to be able to step out port and stbd when he is driving the boat from the pilot house. To stbd he can, but to port he can't. As it is currently designed he has no view to port, other than via a camera system. The engine room is great, walk around everywhere and loads of head room. Also the crew quarters are nice, but I miss a hand rail on the stairs for the crew. Bit dangerous if this boat is in a bit of sea. The bow area is superb, but a bit complicated to get to since there are no side doors anywhere. Would not want to walk with a load of drinks from the stern to the front. In other words, great boat, but with some slight changes it could become even better.
