Hi @Charlie Pryor and eveyone, oh boy, i have many things to share but first. You have too many employee, most of them doing nothing and spending time wating for pay you can't really afford. I advise you to have just what you need to fill the work place plus one for important room like the kitchen. For the guards, at you point of progression, weapon stockpile give you access to higher level of guards. Take into account that you need guard for the castle defence and some for raids. With the chicken'alarm, all the guards will rush to the enemy's position so make you a favor and fire them all. Also you need about same amount of healer as bedroom with pharma closet. The Drow torture themselves in prison, you only need enough executioner to escort the enemies to the prison. Taking into account the number of enemies per incursion... not that many, just two or three executuiner should be enough, same for cultist and necromancer. Let's talk about room's. For the tavern and it's all by what i observed. Counter are the most important structure, all the rest are secondary and one of each is enough exept table. Customers can drink while standing, it's just a mater of "do you want to make your tavern look alike a real tavern". Food Shelves and barrels attract different race but doesn't add up new customers just different need to fulfill, shelves are using your own food product reserve but customers pay more for it. Adressing your bank problem, one bank as big as many counter you want to put, two to three should be enough. You can put one bank by level, it's a room of needs like toilet and and cantina. I have the impression that employees behave according to distance to meet their needs. As close as possible and whether it has a sit or a slot to stand. I tried different layout of room of needs with small rooms close to the work rooms and rooms in the center of the level area. I cant give you a good advice there is too many parameter to take into account. The game want you to mix race but the mechanics force you to segregate. Exemple for guards a mix of close and range attack... Dwarves are really annoying! If an elf is unhappy about the numbers of dwarf they strike and f*g Dwarves follow to strike too just because strike supporter !!!! For the last one, prestige, the higher the price the more prestige the item give to the room but if you want to maximise early on with small room look at the price per tile. Smaller rooms requier less items to up the prestige. I buy everything from the market, you can unlock decoration before you meet their requierment and at the end you gonna get them all so that's an investment. When you will be into the time to make the place looking good, you will have everything to tweak things. A little note : Don't give the Zangdar room too much prestige for too long in the early game, i lost two time because of that. It look like the more prestige he has the more impatient he grow. I hope this will help some people, i restartard fresh five times because of what i learned. If you have a chance to get the Naheulbeuk original story translated or subtitled, listen to it, it's really funny. Have fun.😸
Something I noticed at 27:33, they are all waiting to get paid but you didn't have any money. Your weekly expenses are $2857 but you keep spending all of your money. Maybe you just don't have enough to pay them?
Charlie, I'm thinking that the original vault might be "pre patch" and may still be forcing claims? maybe a remake might help? But a central vault to hold a majority of the gold, with super small sattelite vaults seems to help, but I remade my vaults after the patch and didnt get the pay bug you have.. GL and keep the series coming! I love it :D
So for the pastry table in the kitchen you need a lvl 6 human cook. I know that it just days hire a human cook but I xan tell you from my own playthrough that human cooks can not make deserts until they reach rank 6. Once they reach rank 6 it unlock the table on the kitchen as well as the dessert buffet table in the tavern and the canteen
I wonder if it may be more effective to have some facilities on all floors. Facilities like the bar, the bathroom, medical facility, training rooms and bedrooms, and maybe even have treasure rooms on more than 1 floor. That way you dont have a bottleneck around the important places because they are more spread out and maybe also be able to work around the 150 customer limit for the bar. And maybe it is even possible to have a race for every floor (eg dwarfs have a bar, bed room, etc on the same floor, the same for elves, etc.)
Devs suggest pausing before using build screen on the tavern. they had same issue... For gold. Im going to try to put multiple pay windows on each floor. maybe spread them out? lvl 6 people prefer sweet meals. it was in their faq today
A thing I found as a savior is right click closes most windows like the raids screen hope that helps till they change the UI. Also not sure if its advice or back seat gaming but the bank door problem is the shared side wall isnt considered shared the 1st bank room claims it. So the door didn't have the 4 spaces needed.
Try putting the stair case in between the two bank counters so when the come off the stairs they will have equal distance to walk to two different counters. Try that maybe?
Now you understand why it is very important to have the alarms covering the entry points! Also, according to the steamcommunity boards, almost everyone is having the same problem with the treasury. There are differing opinions on whether to make one large treasury with 20 bankers (the only person to say it worked fine for him had this setup) to having one treasury per floor to try and make it easier for the minions to get paid. Everyone agrees that the number one issue with the game right now is the treasure. It takes at least half a week to get paid which drives down minion satisfaction. This causes them to quit.
After more than 130 decades, donjon level 60, 200 people's all kind of people except barbarian (didn't find the need of them). Treasure room was the main issues I have. 1 treasure room with in between 16-20 dwarfs look like the only solution. Good think is, setup there need don't take too much space, so it's easy to park them away from your others people.
Another great episode Charlie! (I want to make it known I'm not attempting to backseat game and apologize if it seems like it. I only wish to share what I saw in my own gameplay) I have played this game now as well and tried some things out to help with the ai pathing. It almost looks like the ai is looking for their needs to be met on the floor they are on, and although I am not 100% sure of this, I have placed small dorms, latrines, break rooms, ect on each floor catering to each race "working" or being on that floor. My workers seem to be a lot happier and quit a lot less, however I still get them quitting. This might just be because of the time it takes to travel to a place and get the need met so having centralized rooms for needs might be helping. Once they get a need pop-up the timer starts ticking and then it may take too long to get somewhere or something leading to a lot more quitting. On another note, it might be beneficial with that same mindset to have treasure rooms on each floor since I assume travel time to the vault is also a hindrance to the ai. Loving the gameplay so far and can't wait to see you play the amulet of chaos! It's just as quirky and funny as this but with the gameplay of BG3
It’s quite possible the game is designed to have smaller rooms on every floor rather than large rooms on one (exception being the main offices and tavern). Worth a try, if I hadn’t already finished the game on my end. ;)
the fact that minions still quit even though you have given them what they want, but they decide not to use them, is so real world. Ppl like to complain just to complain lol
Eh, have you tried closing the first bank window, thus forcing them to path to the other two. wait a bit then reopen the first one? IOW maybe it is a pathing memory thing. seems a good thing to have the banks together for security, Ha, put one bank on top floor and make them hurry to get paid or get eaten.....
Maybe try this, smaller treasure room - meaning that then you can have counters on all sides - and maybe spread them in different levels, as some other people suggested, to see how it behaves ;)
Move the bathroom that's across from the bank to a different location and add a bank there. They'll be standing right in front of it and should be able to use it better when they see it.
U utilize alot of space for ur treasure room but u can't decorate or add prestige to the "vault" Have u considered making 2 4x4 rooms atleast 1 space from any walls with a "door" on each of the 4 sides to get the most bank windows in the smallest space used? The minions still line up but everything's closer together so it speeds up the process too.
when you have money you can see a pile of gold coin in the middle, and the more money the bigger is the pile. then for visual effect one BIG treasure room is cool, but probably many bank window on many floor could be good for staff
If you want break room for dwarf, do a break room clean, with card table AND the money chest, and you do a break room with only reading desk for human and elve in a clean room, then you do a dirty break room with card table and the money for bet like dwarf. They will use what they prefer.
You cannot control where they go, or what facility they use. You can give perfect conditions, but unless what’s in there is exclusive to that race, others will use it and be in the same room.
like others sudgested it may be the original vault causing issues.. i have around the same population as you but only have 4 pay doors and have no issues
Currently pretty much everyone is having issues with the treasure room, myself included. The community is trying to play with different configurations trying to address that. Maybe a centralized room with tellers on all sides of a bunch of different rooms on the different levels. My minions were waiting half a week to get paid when I had one central room and there was always a queue.
well the only only thing I can see to separed the rest room for dwarf. Is first make the rest for dwarf being the closest for dwarf and the logic would say they go to the closest. The second... Orc "can", but not "would", take a Clean rest room. At least it would be interesting to testing.
Sorry to see "hire x of y"/unmet needs bug still happening and was not patched Monday. Fire the ones not "counting" and rehire them, and that should unlock the items/keep the minions. Make sure you have the minimum level or rank number for the individual, eg," a Level 6 individual." [If it now still fails, scream at the devs about this "change."] The rest (including why modifying rooms says no and gets weird like the treasury "rooms,") I am not sure and will hope the viewers and you figure it out short of deleting and rebuilding everything. (And yes, fully agree should be able to filter races in certain rooms go to only. Why Dwarves can't "have their own floor." )
u should try checking the markert more often when its a new week i noticed u dont as much also u should put rugs all over under your dugeon get your prestige up quickly
Is it possible you don't have the gold to pay your minions? At the end of your video you have a minion weekly cost of 3k and only 200 gold in your account?
If your weapon supply is high enough you start hiring better guards. by this point in the game the majority of your guards could be 5 and up. Mass fire all your lower level guards and they will be replaced with the level your weapons supply affords. I would not call this an exploit because your an evil wizard and they are minions after all. It's your right to fire them and better guards would want to work for you.
@@CharliePryor was thinking if you added a rug or carpet under each table in tavern would really increase sausage rating and might look right , but totally get why you wouldnt want to do it
As i see it whit the tavern the more bars the lower waiting line and the more income you so i just try to get a very small line in my game and are ranking in about 8k gold aweek from tavern alone
Puttig the buffets into the dwarf canteen and saying Oh I don't know if they eat meat or vegetables like you did not just place vegetables to torcher dwarves 30 seconds ago
Maybe they are waiting for payment because you don’t have your expenses covered? Such as, if it cost you 3,000 for payroll, maybe you need 3,000 in your pocket to pay everybody?
So all of your original gold was in that original vault room. The other two didn't start adding money to it until you created them so they are probably not what you expected to happen. I have like 20 windows in 2 long narrow vaults with windows on both sides.. Think of it as if your at your local DMV is it better to have 5 windows or 20 You may have already fixed your problem by now since i'm behind in watching your vids.
i suggest selling the first treasure room and then recreating it. since it was the first one opened, it seems the minions are stuck queing on it.
