- Anno 1404 is in my opinion the best entry of the franchise. Good thing the add-on Venice added a nice Multiplayer and some new features. Discover with me what made this game so great! (and this time with full 64bit support)
In this long-term project I plan to play through all scenarios of the game, treating each scenario as their own season. Expect dozens of episodes filled with new content!

I was confused why you switched up the way your roads led to the Lumberjacks at 4:15 but since you are German, I understood when you completed all four roads ;-)
All the farm layouts that don't use the Noria Exploit end up swastika shaped. It's inevitable due to the rotational symmetry thast turns out to be the most efficient way to get things done. Same goes for housing... 366 houses around a cathedral is the best I've found and it has the same rotational symmetry as the farms, just massively scaled up.

I am much slower than you, and I never had the IA declare war on me that early. I look forward to seeing this evolve 😁
That's cool, but in previous versions of anno i have had a problem with this scenario, namely just crushing and that's all( and now I'm watching this scenario on your channel, good work as always)

2205 sounds like a good thing to go back to as it'll be simpler to get back into compared to 2070

not sure if you know this but you do have the silver ship :) you can equip it in the options menu
Wish you the best start and luck :D I prefer 2205 because of the Market System and Technology Nexus. Also with the Headquarters and all the park elements you can actually make quite amazing parks :) Of course this is also one of the best games for optimization. That's my feedback!

Just scout a small area, That delays the declare of wars later on!

EditII: Giovanni will be a hard opponent this match.
EditIII: A little tip: when you place a single piece of harbourstreet somewhere and then place the defensive Tower on it you wont get those lines of street (idk what its called i call it street)

3) if i knew that earlier... btw the word you are looking for is quay. i already recorded 7 episodes and had to struggle with that^^

It works better to hide and develop silently, and seeing the computer players as late as possible. That way you can delay war.
True: I've just finished this scenario and I fulfilled all other winning conditions before encountering the AIs. Early land grab, build fast, take the central islands, build both cities to the required level, then complete Hassan's quest and reveal the AIs, they had no chance I just bought them out... defeated them without firing a shot. :o)
Is it possible to play MP in the Anno 1404 History edition? If yes i would consider buying it on steam.
yes. they completely reworked the MP infrastructure of the history collection to make it independent from 3rd party software

What's the major difference between the original and the history edition?
1) new online multiplayer system
2) 64-bit engine -> no memory leak and better lategame performance

nur bedingt sinnig wenn meine handelsschiffe die ganze zeit beschossen werden und für auto-trade kommt er zu selten vorbei. hab da aber schon ne lösung für in späteren episoden :D
Hey, I've always preferred 2205 over 2070 from the aesthetic to the build mechanics.. If you're looking for a challenge to spice up the game, how about something like researching "all alternate recipes" for your production line like rice instead of beef? I don't know you'd enjoy the game if you were setting all in game challenges like those annoying invasions to maximum. You could just deactivate them entirely, if you wanted my opinion. I can't stand the ship combat.
I think there needs to be some kind of goal set by you to have a true sense of challenge.
-In your starting temperate region for instance, you'll always have plenty of workforce so how about you only build energy & maintenance modules here and continue this in other biomes like the moon will always have enough energy but workforce and maintenance is crazy expensive...
-You could challenge yourself to make the arctic profitable by going for max population.
-Finance calculator EVERYTHING for maximum tycoon gameplay so you won't need 2070 anymore haha XD. Let's be honest, you would've played as a tycoon again, right? Greta Jorgen.. I mean Thunberg is not impressed lol.
why does it always have to be a challenge? why not.. just relax and enjoy the game? that is how i usually play :D
i do imperator only bcs it was requested so much. in private i would never-ever touch it XD
@@LeagueofUngentlemanlyWarfare Nobody says there *always* has to be one. Self imposed challenges can be "additional fun" if you enjoy them, which would be the only reason to do one. I'm suggesting them, implying you may want something to spice up a game you know very well already. Wildwater Bay to Akia Flows to Iwamoto Crater to Viridian Coves, right XD

Your fun is the most critical component to a successful playthrough.
Usually, you DO set yourself some sort of challenge, even if it's "only perfect building layouts", "no arctic stimulants", "max temperate residents (it's for income, I know)", "quests only for +125% of current income reward" or since the Ubisoft servers don't work as often as they do, the world market becomes unusable so you don't rely on it like many others. These are basically all self imposed challenges which is what I think of when I think of your signature building/play style.
In that context, I wanted your considered take on which ... preferences (hello Giacomo Garibaldi) actually bring you the most joy in game and which settings in the start screen you'd like to select/disregard bc you know they'll become incredibly annoying over time. When I suggest some of these to you, I do it to get your take on what you think of them, this is not a "are you adopting this or not???" situation I thought...

the hardest predefined scenario in the game
i kinda like anno 2205, it doesnt feel that hard like an anno, but it is acctually a good game.
and i realy Dont like 2070, so i have to give my vote to 2205 :)
isnt it better to take 2 big occidentel lands and then take all the oriental lands with spices and dades? The ai will never get out of the stone age cuz of this.
have fun getting that early enough resources to block all the islands completely so that the AI cannot land on the islands as well^^
@@LeagueofUngentlemanlyWarfare It is possible, you take 2 lands, leave 10 tools and 10 wood at main land, then make it so that your main land buys those tools. Then take your ship to those oriental lands and take them. At first you will lose alot of money but in the long run you will get nobles and others wont even get patriciens and they have to fight their own rioting civillians. but make sure its spices and dades only, you should try it, you will feel like a god!

League of Ungentlemanly Warfare accr is more a dlc than a mod ;-) it should improve the game play by a lot :-)
