My house is absolutely nowhere as gross as some of these people's homes but it's got me feeling like I need to put my phone down and extreme clean too. 🤣 I love seeing a disgusting place turn into a nice place it's so refreshing!

I’ve watched a few of these shows and I’ve never totally disliked someone before. She’s a first.
She is terrible , her boyfriend shouldn't accept a lowered expectation of life. He'll regret it. Someone comes to help and shes nasty to him - terrible.

I got that same impression. If women like that get ahold man with low self esteem they just walk all over them. If he spent one week with a normal 'clean' type woman he would know the difference and he would never accept her messy habits.

I grew up with an OCD cleaner. My mom bleached our toilets and bath tubs twice a day with way too much undiluted bleach, and I was told I smelled like bleach. I constantly got UTIs and had kidney issues. When I moved away to go to college, I never had another infection for 11 years.
Did it make you want to clean or avoid it? My mother used to wake us up at 6AM to clean the bathrooms on Saturday mornings so I totally understand. The bleach gave my sister and me headaches.
Yes, these mothers usingn all these chemicals and then saying they're worried about their children's health - they're not being logical, which is understandable since they have a psychological disorder. All phobias and compulsive behaviors boil down to an inability to tolerate anxiety and a need to exert control over a small part of the world, a world that they somehow have come to believe is life threatening ... in fact, what's uncontrollable are their thoughts and emotions. Until they deal with those two aspects of themselves, they will not be able to overcome their compulsions. People who do NOT clean also are showing an inability to deal with anxiety and a feeling of being overwhelmed. So, they are like two opposite extremes of the same sickness. Both extremes are unhealthy for themselves, their kids and their pets. That man who gives his cats multiple flea baths is dumping enormous amounts of pesticide into their bloodstreams, as well as inhaling it himself. Not good.
@@brentshirley477 OMG...I feel so bad for you as a child. Saturday was our "fun" day. Every other day except Sunday was our chore days. Different days for different small chores. To this day I loooooove Saturdays even if I don't do ANYTHING on Saturday. Just the mood of that day is nice.
I saw one of this shows episodes where the mom bathed her children in Dettol. But that is not bleach. My mom used bleach to but she would give the baths 2 final rinses in literally boiling water. 2 kettles full for each tub AFTER she scrubbed them with Clorox (bleach and Comet. I have never had a UTI infection in my life and I am no spring chicken .I've been lucky I guess.❤

All of the obsessive cleaners use a ridiculous amount of bleach, seems they use it straight and by the gallons lol. I worked in a hospital kitchen and we were inspected several times a year. For the big huge 3 compartment sinks that hold gallons of water, we only used 2 "cap fulls", ( the bleach bottle lid) to the full huge sink full of hot water to sanitize! That was the required amount and they were properly sanitized! The obsessive people are more likely to hurt themselves and there pets and kids, with all the bleach overload and sanitizing wipes, than if they didn't clean at all! They are creating a different kind of health risk!!
Right! Bleach is SOOOO more potent than it is given credit for. Also, it should never be diluted with hot water as it gives off dangerous fumes and will render it less effective. Take it from another OCD cleaner and midwife! We MUST use bleach to the proper dilution and according to the label instructions for it to work. All the visible dirt or grime must be removed from the surface with soap and water first. Then, diluted to the proper amount for the job. Then allowed to sit the full amount of time indicated on the bottle before allowing to air dry or rinsing off. It also must be plain chlorine bleach and not scented or thickened versions. Those ones often do not sanitize and it says so on the bottle. Make sure you have the right one.
They are also working threw their sickness also.

Dan is a nice guy, imo. Maybe replacing the toilet seat every month is a little much, but if he has the money and that is what he wants to spend it on, in my opinion, it's fine and much better than stuff he could spend his money on. I love how clean his house is!
Not in my opinion. I've seen nearly all his episodes and he shames and bullies everyone. When he gets together with Haley they act like snobbish bullies and make fun of people.

i was terrified seeing him just shut his freshly wet cat outside. it could get sick because of England weather or it could get really dirty due to laying on the concrete.
I know, it kind of defeats the purpose to put a wet cat outside and it's not healthy for the cat -- AND flea shampoos are full of pesticides, so the cats are getting all this poison in their bloodstream on a regular basis AND he's inhalting and touching the soap which gets absorbed into HIS bloodstream. As someone else pointed out here, all these chemicals -- especially straight bleach -- are actually just as harmful as the germs they're afraid of, possibly more so. But we're talking about people with a mental disorder, so their fears overpower their common sense.
Or retaliate and go rub in dirt or feces like my dog did one time.
Yeah it also got to me. Besides the cat will just end up dirtier!

Charlotte was disgusting and rude, but Dan was kind of a jerk too. He was lecturing her like he was her dad or something. I think it drove him crazy that she wouldn't admit that her home was unusually nasty, but she wanted him to admit that he was too clean.

I live in a 4 person household, and we have to do at LEAST 3 loads of dishes a day, even though most of us aren't home half the time. The problem is when you cook, then those big dishes can easily fill up the sink, and we love to cook our meals all the time. Our dishwasher broke one summer, and I spent the whole summer washing dishes and catching up on Netflix shows until we finally got it fixed. It was therapeutic in a way, but I definitely don't want to handwash dishes for a huge household ever again.

I do not suffer from OCD but I have found cleaning very therapeutic and helpful for me and that has really helped with my affective disorder.
I have the deepest sympathies for the brave people who show their homes and share their stories and I would gladly help someone who suffers from whatever causes their mess.

The ironic part of her fear of her children 'getting sick and dying' if she doesn't clean obsessively, is the fact she is actually hurting her children's health. Kids need to be exposed to germs at an early age when their immune systems are still strong, so that their bodies can grow immunity to many kinds of dangerous bacteria, germs, and even viruses. By not letting her children being exposed to dirt in an ultra clean environment, she's going to cause them to have a weaker immune system.
Parents, let your kids play in the mud. It's good for them!

OCD diagnosed here and I can say for sure. I don't care how spotless and "Sanitized" the toilet is I'd NEVER lick it. That lady had the coronavirus in her body before it was even a thing!

Not only am I OCD with ADHD as well, I am an obsessive cleaner and am pregnancy nesting again. So I’ve got my OCD times 1000 and my hyper focus cleaning/project spells of ADHD by 1000. Pray for my family since I constantly must be moving and cleaning and it’s never clean enough 🤣 These shows satisfy some sick urge within me to clean and organize people’s lives. I actually would love to be given a horrendous house to go crazy on before this kid comes! I take full advantage of my pregnancy nesting every time since it always makes my house look so amazing.

You arent going to get sick from going over a friends home thats too clean, it may be a pain in the ass and you wont be able to do anything, but at least you arent returning home a petrie dish worth of undisovered bacteria, mold and viruses..her home is a literal health hazzard..someone could get seriously sick from being there. I wouldnt even walk in the door if I saw that mess through the doorway.
I’ve been at work since 7:30 am, I get off at 10pm. I’m gonna clean as soon as I get home. I bought two containers of Clorox wipes during my shift 😂😂😂 can’t wait to go home and bleach everything.

during covid lockdown, my house was spotless, but now that i am working again, i alternate clean downstairs one week, clean upstairs the next week. My husband is a neat freak, he organizes everything, but he is not good at dusting. He is good at mopping and vacuuming. We wash our cats once a month, cuz they sleep with us

My bf is messier and im a bit ocd with cleaning...its a challenge bc he always leaves his clothes on the ground and never has cleaned the bathrooms or kitchen but once he tried cleaning the bathroom and left his little beard trimmings and it made me insane so i rather clean. It just feels nice to have a clean home

I don't know much about this show, only having seen it here on UA-cam, but I wish they weren't going to other OCD people's houses and instead doing the community cleanup like in the other episodes I've seen. That was so neat that they were helping their communities!

Yes- that was horrible. The cat should be wrapped in a warm towel and put in his crate and then gently blow dried. It feels like a massage and they like it.

I can't stand Dan. He has such a mean girl personality. Imo. He always acts judgmental and becomes a bully especially when he gets together with Haley. They make fun of people and seem like they prefer to judge or feel better about themselves rather than helping. Haley isn't near as bad on her own vs. when she's with Dan.
