- During the 2016 Christmas period, I got down to Manningham to video the new Solo trucks, which had only been on the job for about 5 months at the time. One of the reasons for my visit was to look at #2613, which was in pristine condition handling the recycling.
You will notice on these Manningham Recycling trucks that they are a low-profile 30m³ body. These bodies were specially designed for the Manningham contract due to the amount of trees in the area, especially in the bush parts of the council. Otherwise, you would be hitting trees if you were to put a large standard recycling body truck in Manningham. Off the top of my head the only other low-profile body that was made was for Bayside Garbage and that truck is now kicking about in NSW.
Anyway, we see this driver tackling his run at ease on a hot summer morning in Doncaster. #2613 doesn't look like this anymore and looks rather tired. I've been sitting on this video for a long time, so it's time I let it free for everyone to view. You can't beat the look of a fresh Acco and now it's nothing but memories. Well here we are, back in time to the start of the solo contract, Hard to believe only a few years prior there was Citywide’s well known Euro 3s, hard to think they were once loved for them, and now just have Dennis Bucher Gen6s. Of course one unit, #FN15062, made its way to the merri-bek contract, Hard to believe we’re so far into this contract and closer to the next, wow time really flies. Haha in ur description Bigger isn’t always better, just take a look at darebin to see there fucked 😂😂
At least manningham still got euro 5 accos, and not the ‘shitbox’ euro 6.

Yeah, I couldn’t agree more on the description.
2 newer contracts in Melbourne now have had a massive delay on trucks coming in (Darebin and Boroondara) and have had to use temp trucks.
i feel like solo shoots themselves in the foot with their run maps as well. the ones in my area make no sense and our drivers struggle to get runs done on time, once dragging out to a 6:45pm finish with my bin not being done until 6:15pm. the trucks could use at least a faster slide arm if they arent gonna get given extend a slide
