What Angel means at the end when talking to Gunn is « if i ever turn into Angelus again and become a danger to the people i love, your responsability is to kill me to protect others, that will be the right thing to do , and i count on you to do that… » that’s how you can prove to me that i can trust you….
the experience of watching angel for the first time after loving amy acker in practically every other role she's ever done is just 2.5 seasons straight of oh my god give that girl a massively dangerous weapon. and then they do.
To me, Lorne's hinted that he had kind of a similar story than Gunn did. Lost someone he loved (either a romantic interest or a family member), maybe not to vampire, but at least to a demon, partially because of his obsession about fighting them. And that Gio is what Gunn could have become, didn't he met Angel, and got involved in A.I.'s "good fight".
I think Angel might have known Fred was making a play, and he was backing her play by playing along. Remember - Fred is extremely smart, even when she's scared. And she's seen a worse version of Angel - in Pylea - and knew just what to do, she kept him from killing his friends by dipping her hand in a bucket of blood and called him away from them... Angel saved her from Pylea, she saved him from himself in Pylea; she was never going to shoot him, but she played the scared human girl part perfectly, got herself armed and got the drop on the real bad guy... Domi, you got a real Darla addiction! You were clearly jonesing for a Darla fix...
8:54 Lol CordyxFred would definitely have been fun. Personally Fred has always read as bisexual to me (I've got nothing to back that up with, it's just a vibe), however I can think of another woman in the Buffyverse that she'd be a better match with...
I thought That Old Gang of Mine was a really good episode focusing on Gunn, who is still not really a 100% member of the team we feel at this point. The scenes in Lorne's club with the gang were brilliantly handled. Great scene with Wesley and Gunn at the end also. It's hard to believe that it is the same Wesley who was a bumbling fool in S3 of BTVS and now is a hardened fighter, who refuses to take any nonsense. Wesley is my favourite character from The Buffyverse. This is why Angel as a show was great in that it enabled three BTVS characters Angel, Cordelia, and Wesley, who were all very one dimensional develop into brilliant rich characters in this show. Don't worry the Darla plotline will come back shortly, and what a plotline!
I hate Gunn in this episode. He hugged Angel in S03E01 and was psyched to get a shrunken head from him when he came back from his trip. They are friends. This was dumb.
Gunn has had some kind of Riley moment from Buffys Family Ep. And what the Cariacas with all the different demons represents in the show,, well, when it wasn't alreaday, now it's pretty obvious. And i like that it is not done in an annoying way, like they do it nowadays.
Show: "When do you expect Darla to show up?" Domi: "Yes." As pronouncing "tt" as "dd"... it's not your fault, it's just Americans rubbing off on you. XD
I know it would have ruined some of the whole "all demons are bad" as an allegory for racism but it would be nice to point out that some humans are monsters too and kill and hurt others and it would be like saying that all humans should die because some are like this . They kind of said it with this episode but it's what frustrated me with all the scenes with Kate just hating on Angel because some other vampires killed her dad. If it was a human that killed him would she have wanted all humans dead? No.
Fred singing.... of course she connects to this Patsy classic. I suspect Lorne would have told her to trust her instincts and know she is among the sanest of his patrons. Then there's -- mmmm, Angel!
y’all know what this vid means right?? 6x01 coming up NEXT!!! finally s6 of buffy shall reach youtube🥰🥰
30:10 Debts is pronounced "detts."

Curious and genuine question: Anyone ever get curious about the details Lorne didn't go into about Gio's backstory?
✋ definitely curious
Soooooo curious
Nice observation - I was disappointed we didn't get more. But I didn't need more details to dislike him

17:05 He said that because Angel wants to have someone that (If he turned back to Angelus) Could and would stop him.
‘Deal with it or don’t. But make a damn choice’
Favorite lines in this one - in three-part harmony: "mmmmm....Angel...."

"They wouldn't. That's so mean."
Have you been watching the same show I have? ;)

Domi doesn't know that the curse is happiness from sexual acts, really, I thought EVERYONE knew that lol
