Dimash is absolutely phenominal! I am 74 yrs and have never heard anyone like him. I found him in 2019 here on youtube. He was suggested as the best singer in the world. I thought yeah, sure. Dimash is Classic trained. His home town Opera house in Kazakhstan asked Dimash to sing there. Dimash refused, because he had a plan for his life, to sing Neoclassical music, and whatever else he put his mind to. He has a Masters in Composition, and a Doctorate in Musicology. He has been singing since he was 5, and practices at least 3 hours a day. His voice is Masterful, and his range Iconic. Dimash is the humblest human being, and his wish is to transport his DEARS ( his fandom) to another place, away from the every day mundane existence that so many people have. First, you said his name correctly the second time- Dee Mahsh, NOT like mashed potatoes. Dimash has been training since he was 5 years old( he will turn 30 on May 24th), has sung in 15 languages, speaks Russian, Kazakh(he is from Kazakhstan and VERY proud of his country) English and is learning Mandarin. This song catapulted him into stardom overnight when he was 22 in a talent show called The Singer for professional singers in China. Dimash is from Kazakhstan, as been training for 25 years, starting music school at age 5. He is university trained, with a Masters Degree in composition, will finish his PhD in musicology soon, has his own production Company (independent) and sells out stadiums world wide (including Barclay's in NYC in 2019). He was offered positions at several opera companies but chose his own path as a neo-classical artist.

Elizabeth Zharoff used to react a lot to Dimash. The digital copyright management company, Yoola, gave her a copyright block on one of his videos. Her husband, a lawyer, disputed with Yoola for almost a year, complicated by the company being Russia-based with no native English speakers. Finally the channel was able to get the block removed. Elizabeth reacted to one more Dimash video two years ago, and then she was done. But she recently had Justin Hawkins (The Darkness) on her channel as a guest interview. When the subject of the greatest living vocalist came up, they both agreed that it was Dimash.

I work with young people and young people need to have good references. I had been looking for someone for a long time, of whom I could speak to the young people I work with, as a good reference. That person should be young, a super talent, a super mega star in the art world and above all, because he is the most important, a good human person. I highly recommend checking out "Across Endless Dimensions" (the version w/ the whale), "Kieli Meken", Olimpico" (aka Ogni Pietra), "Sinful Passion", "Durdaraz", "Stranger", "When I've Got You", and "The Story of One Sky" if you want to hear his metal scream at the end. 😉

DIMASH knows no genre categories, he is capable of doing Opera, rap, rock, Jazz, pop R&B anything he chooses and often does so. Prepare for a great adventure for if you continue reacting to DIMASH you will be saying "How does he do that?" quite often. He will "throw" vocals at you that you have never heard before in every song.

I enjoyed your blind reaction very much. Dimash was found to have perfect pitch at the age of five, and was immediately put into music lessons. He was classically trained and as a teen was offered a position as tenor by a national opera company. He declined, saying he wanted to sing all genres, all registers.

I love watching people experience dimash for the first time. You can not put him into one genre. He has an expansive catalogue of music. I personally absolutely love him, and now my 7-year-old son does too.
Well, NR, you've just tapped into (what I believe is) the best vocalist on the planet today, who has the most loyal fan base of all - including myself. I'm a 7 year plus Dear and I am still amazed and surprised by him! While Dimash has so many wonderful traits and abilities musically, what does it for us Dears is his humanity. He is such a good soul and is constantly working for the good of his beloved Kazakhstan as well as for the entire world. Aside from Dimash's vocal range, which spans the keys of a piano, he has the ability to go from the highest note to the other and to do so seamlessly. There is, reportedly, no other person in the world who can do this. One reactor explained it like his voice is like a zipper. Regardless of where it starts on the garment, it can reach the other end with absolutely no tugs or pulls. Dimash has a fantastic low (baritone) voice, he can basically sing 7.7 octaves. All beautiful in every register. Not self taught, he’s been at music school since the age of 5. Even currently he has 3 hours vocal training/lessons every day. Dimash sings in all genres, and 13 languages, you are sure to like something! His metal screams are just something else! Dimash will be 30 next week (24th May 2024)

I understand that he might not be your cup of tea, but he is a man of all the voices out there.....he can do metal too if he wants to.....he can do it all. Beautiful in and out. His live concerts are to die for.....no joke....usually 3 hours or longer. Whoever loves Dimash is called a DEAR....I think I'm the biggest fan of his ❤.....his Dears are all over the world loving him like no other.

Look what happens when you open your mind and you want to try something new and you're not afraid that you don't understand what the heck the artist is about, other than people wanting YOU to EXPERIENCE what they experienced. Congratulations, you just witnessed the greatest vocalist alive. He is a twenty-nine year old multi-faceted artist with a soul of a thousand years, who hails from Kazakhstan. He sings in 16 different languages (speaks Kazakh and Russian fluently, some English, and a little Mandarin), plays 8 musical instruments and is currently working on his PhD in musicology (has a Masters in composition). He’s been training since the age of 5, has a 7 octave range, has absolute pitch, and is an amazingly humble and kind man. His mother is a classically trained singer and his father is a singer and producer. He sings almost every genre (even raps) He has many recent performances, but I would highly recommend "Sinful Passion" 2018, "Stranger" 2021 ,"Olimpico" 2019 link on Igor Krutoy's (composer that came out of retirement to work with Dimash) UA-cam channel, "Adagio" from The Singer 2017, "Ikanaide" 2021 Tokyo Jazz Festival, and "Ave Maria" 2021 at New Wave. After digesting those performances, I can't stress enough my recommendation for one of his most recent songs and music video (mini movie) the artistic masterpiece "The Story of One Sky" that he wrote the screenplay for and spent 3 years composing the music for, which displays a lot of his range (not all) and soooo many vocal techniques and dynamics, including sub harmonics, whistle register, bass, tenor, baritone, classical, jazz, pop, rock and unreal metal screams....and unbelievable dramatic acting. He can sing any genre and do anything that has to do with show business.. with one big difference.. he sings with pomp and grandeur and most times there is a message with his song. The song "SOS" is from the Canadian-French cyberpunk rock opera "Starmania" written in 1976 with music by Michel Berger and book and lyrics by Luc Plamondon.. sung by Dimash in French. The song reflects feelings of despair and being depressed with life and refers to the singer wanting to be a bird to see the world from above. Some believe that the lyrics at the end, "Sleep child.. sleep," refer to 'ending it all.'
