I think she doesn't have an aussie accent because her accent was influenced by both her parents accent and the australian so it created an unusual fusion. Either that or she was taught by or grew up around Americans, I think. It does sound unusually americanish, but it isn't completely american, speaking as an American.
An 'Aussie accent' you're thinking of is probably typical of those that live in Queensland (a state that's northern east in Australia). She, like me, grew up in Melbourne, which is in Victoria (South-East Australia), and there aren't many accents there, or even any influencers for accents there
@Ostrich Feather Nah she doesn't Australian. She sounds American. I was born and raised in Australia, so I am very familiar with the Australian accent. Most Asian Australians do not sound like her.
Amber Maber For us Australian accent is more like British accent plus some dialects. Lol, she does sound like American. Actually the reporter sounds more like Australian
Why is sverybody commenting on her accent. If a girl from Spain who seems to travel a lot was talking with Argentinian accent, everyone would quickly understand she has probably been surrounded by argentinians for a couple years. What's so shocking about it?
you're lucky because your parents paved the way for you. nothing to shout about. go find a proper job pls.you are not naturally born with a singer's voice.
Here after "fragile heart", she is such a precious girl. Thanks for the great interview!
Please do another interview with her. Really like to watch her being interviewed in English.
She was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia
sounds very much like american accent
She's been training in the US since she was 14.
Such an Aussie accent ...
Alex Coreable That’s exactly what I was thinking! She’s Australian but she speaks like American accent, just kinda interesting
4:41 Not until she pronounced "going" did I realize that she is actually an Aussie. She almost got a perfect American accent.
Another great interview. Cute how she worried her Eng might be broken :)
Her English has an American accent.

I’m a big fan of her. I’m just kinda curious that she’s Australian but her accent is definitely more like American. Just curious lol.
she went to JYP in US for training when she was 13-14
To add to this, there is a clip of her when she was younger where she had a stronger Aussie accent but I think she lost it growing up
She's an American wanabee pop star!
