Omg I almost died of laughter when simon opened up the pizza from pizza hut. His reaction was priceless. Espiacaly wiith the backround music and the sheep sound going off. I swear this channel will be the death me.
Wow, I always regret reading UA-cam comments. Sometimes, I really feel sorry for Simon and Martina for having to read this stuff. They can't even dress how they want and joke around with their interns without getting hate for it. People always find something to criticize.
It's ok. We get many more kind and loving comments than we do mean ones. We'll focus on the positive ones instead :D

People should stop tell Pizza Hut to change their "crazy menu" in the comment. Pizza Hut, like every other food chains, alter their menu depending on the population they are catering for. If they make these, it means Koreans must like them, although they are not in tune with your taste. They wouldn't be stupid enough to put a butt load of things no one would order on their menu, and just loose their money with it. I'm well traveled and I can tell you that menus at McDonalds also change depending on the country you are in. I quickly looked up the American pizza hut menu and it's not the same in my country. It's the same deal with some drinks, there are flavors of coca-cola and fanta in my country that I've never seen abroad. We also have a sort of cold lipton ice-tea that I've never see elsewhere. They just adapt with the market.
yeah i mean im korean n i would actually LOVE LOVE to eat all those pizzas!!!!! :D so weird because i always thought american pizzas r worse than ours... lol i guess we all have different tastes of pizza! :D
I agree with your comment. They wouldn't create a bunch of crazy pizzas if people didn't like them. Even so, they do really seem crazy. I'm Korean and think they look crazy.
You are right. Here in Mexico they put beans and meat like it was a taco and spicy stuff. I don't like any of that but some people do. There's something for everyone.
Bakeries like Paris baguette and Tous De Jours are on almost every corner in Seoul. Pizza in Seoul, like Pizza Hut and Dominos, seem very inspired by these type of bakeries. That's probably where all the awkward sweet tastes and stupid choice of ingredients come from. Which brings you the following problem: where the F'k can you go to get normal pizza like the states? New York style pizza? Reasonable prices? Apparently, NOWHERE. Also, cheese in Korea is more expensive than the states, another factor for the higher prices.

Maybe you should try to look out for American restaurants? I can't guarantee the prices but I've been to one in Sinchon and the food was pretty decent. I don't remember if they had pizza though, but the rest was pretty good in my opinion (it was a buffet-style place, near the Hyundai Mall/Store/whatevettheycallthis). To me it was very much a "I need to eat something else than korean food" moment xD (I'm not American myself but I've lived there, and to me it did look fairely good)

Same here for the "American" pizza places.
"Japanese" pizza is a little cheaper, but the crust has the same thickness and rigidity of a crepe so it's fun times trying to eat those.

Hell...I live in Texas and it costs like $12 for a large cheese. Unless you go with a whacked out combo deal that they have.

I live in NZ and just letting you know that it's $5 for like....cheese pizza and pepperoni...chicken pizzas and seafood pizzas are like...$12-$15, still better than those $30 pizzas but still...not that cheap :/

in Albania we get big sized italian style pizzas for only 5-6 euros. they are really cheap here and are exactly like they make them in Italy.
its just america then... thats why we are fat LOL~ were get a medium pizza for 5 bucks~ from dominos. or if we want a Large 5 topping pizza for like 11. but they are just deals~ regularly. its about 20 bucks for a medium pizza.

The base on which pizza is made is actually flatness from the Middle East. I went into a bakery in Kandahar with another person and $0.25 in Afghanies. We left with so much flat bread that both of us had our arms full.

It's because it has a U.S. brand name "Pizza Hut" .... A good chuck of the money Pizza Huts in Korea make go back to the Pizza Hut in the U.S.

Zeke Fraire crazy right? I thought the same. I pay about 8-10 dollars for a pizza hut pizza in Poland and THAT'S expensive in my opinion because you can buy it much cheaper from other places lol

hopefully no one sees this and thinks pizza hut/mr pizza represents the pizza scene in korea. there is PLENTY of smaller chains/restaurants that have american-style pizzas, with all the standard topping options. they are also reasonably priced in comparison to these places, which is clearly charging for the amount of stuff (different crusts, toppings, etc). korea has good pizza!!! don't be afraid!!!
p.s. totally feel you on the "regular" pizza thing. korean large is like the standard medium in american. there was a place i ordered from that had like, extra large and that was like 12 slices in a circle. it was comically large

Not sure if you're aware of this but if you search for it, there are a lot of offers and coupons for pizza places in Korea. For example if you get take out instead of delivering you can get 1+1, size upgrade , etc

The majority of Korean food is great, but when it comes to pizza you should always go for the normal standard pizza. The "fancy" ones are really awful. Pizza is not, how can i say this, "native" to Korea and we just don't know how to make great pizza.

These weird pizza options remind me of in shokugeki no souma (or food wars) where souma would like put peanut butter on squid and everyone's like "why would you do this??? its so disgusting???" and hes like "yeah! i know! i think its the grossest thing ive ever made!!!"

It's just Mr. Pizza and Pizza Hut. There are so many other pizza restaurants with bigger pizzas which are also cheaper at the same time...
You can go to other pizza places and get a bigger pizza for, like, six bucks. These pizzas were just the fancy-pants pizzas.

As an Italian, I feel truly offended when people call THAT a pizza.
Don't get me wrong: I love American style pizza with all the weird toppings (yes I'm talking about you pineapple that somehow tastes delicious on a Hawaiian pizza)..but cinnamon cream cheese? Sweet prawns?? What in the world???

As an Italian it's quite weird seeing how many things other countries put on pizzas because in Italy we will never see a pizza with pineapple, cream cheese, chicken or stuff like that. They always have "normal" ingredients like sausage, mushrooms, vegetables, ham... Also the price is insane O_O The most expensive pizza here is something like 10-12 dollars and the size is also quite big. However this video was interesting and I really liked the one shaped like a star, it was original ^^
K-dramaddicted I agree that pizza can get kinda wild but I gotta fight for my pineapple. The type of cheese that comes in the stuff crust in TX is super salty so it really compliments the sweetness of the pineapple. The key is to bake it so the sugar caramelizes slightly.
I know I once had a strange pizza with Alfredo sauce, procutto, spinach and basaltic vinegar. Surprisingly, It was one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had.
I know this is super late, but now that I live in Italy, pizza will never be the same. I’ve been ruined by amazing Italian food 😍

Here in Brazil pizza restaurants use to have something like 30 flavors in their menu. The pizzas are really big and have a lot of filling. They cost around 10 dollars.
My favorite flavor is "Portuguese pizza" Which is filled with mozzarella, ham, baked eggs, onion slices, corn, peas and olives.
Have someone ever tried sweet pizza? I think they are disgusting.

My first time eating Mr Pizza in Korea, I hated it because the sauce was extremely sweet. It really grew on me though, and now I miss it.

I make pizza at home all the time, from scratch. It is so easy that I cannot fathom how someone can mess up and make a bad pizza. Flour, salt, oil, water, and yeast... That's it! You can put anything on there and it will be good! And how does this simple and delicious food cost over $30?
Yep, same here. I make my own sauce too and can make them at home using regular retail costs for ingredients for well under $2 each. And they're very large, not those tiny things.

iAmSVD pizza can be a LOT cheaper in korea. I guess they chose expensive ones because they come in more varieties.
Same story in Japan with expensive pizzas, except that is probably Japan's "large" size, for the same $35 worth.
It's expensive because it's Pizza Hut and Mr. Pizza.... There's lots of other restaurants which are much cheaper. Also restaurants like McD, BurgerKing or Lotteria are quite cheap I'd say.

Yeah some pizza in Korea is really good! But this was specifically trying to test out those "trendy" pizzas that tend to pop up at Korean chain locations. Just say NO to the trendy pizza of doom.

waterflowzz I worked at a restaurant near the beach in Massachusetts and they had this amazing pizza called "the aquarian" it was a white sauce pizza with shrimp scallops and fish and lemon. So amazing!
