I never thought I’d become obsessed with making gnomes, but it’s happened!
I’m sure you can understand how making one just leads to more ideas, occasions, and cute ideas. I’m actually having trouble focusing on the other Christmas gifts that I need to get done that aren’t gnomes.

I just discovered this neat tip and wanted to share. If you take the longe spongey rollers from dollar tree (i don't know what they are called) push down, you'll see a white tip that can be removed. They make for great eyes! And you can still use the roller for arms or legs. This has worked great for me, i hope this helps someone. Happy Holidays! 🎅🤶🎁⛄

Thank you for the idea on how to put a face on the gnomes. I do make them like you do but use rice or beans to help weigh them down & cotton to fill them up. I like to leave a little of the top of the gnome to give the hat body*;0)

New subscriber I Love it Sarah you are so crafty and a good teacher to follow as well. One question how much we could sell it! Thank you for your time and sharing may God bless you...

Well I'm so glad to have you here, Denise. As for these little cuties, you can sell any handmade gnome for whatever price your market will bear. There are a lot of groups on Facebook (some are even regional) where you can get an idea for pricing.
Good luck - whether you show at craft shows or sell on Etsy or Facebook marketplace, I sure do hope you have a fun time making these little cuties.

My official favorite gnome tutorial! One question regarding the paint pens: Is it acrylic or oil-based paint? Thank you!

Vakaria, I used Posca paint pens and they are water based. You can definitely use acrylics, as well.

Hi there, Eleanor. Thank you so much for your sweet compliment and I'm glad you enjoyed it. Most of the faux fur I use is Mongolian (3" pile). It comes in a ton of colors but I tend to stick with frosted gray and white, but small cuts are available on Etsy for the colors.
I buy most of my frosted gray on Amazon by the yard but sometimes Joann's and other fabric stores will have it in stock. I hope that helps. Let me know if I can help out or answer any questions - I just love making these little guys and gals.

Where do you source you beard fabric please? I live in the UK and have tried looking but not much of the long haired faux :( by the way I absolutely love your videos thank you xx

I buy it in bulk from Amazon, usually (search Mongolian fur). Fabric.com is another great source for it, but again,, I usually buy it by the yard (or three). Many of my readers and viewers can find some on Etsy - maybe look there to see if you have any local / semi-local?
And thank you so much for watching my little channel - I am honestly so lucky to get to share these with you all.

I used Posca paint pens, but anything will work.

Just so you know, that fur is no longer available on Amazon 😢
Where do you get your paint pens?

Thank you for letting me know. I linked an alternative from a great shop on Etsy - the best part is that she will give you less than a yard, so it’s more cost effective.
I get my Posca paint pens (the fine tips) on Amazon. You can use a small paint brush and acrylic paint if you have that on hand.

Per cortesia qualcuno i può dire dove si compra la barba degli gnomi non riesco a trovarla.

The gnome beard fur is called "Mongolian fur" in white (frosted gray is also very popular). I buy it at fabric stores and on Etsy - not sure where you are, but it's called Mongolian everywhere and has a 3" inch pile.
The link to the Etsy shop is in the description if you want to see what shipping would be for you.

What size is the little wood bead? I can't wait to make these!

    • @SarahNenniDaher
      @SarahNenniDaher  3 роки тому

I used a half inch wood ball for this one, just because I had a ton of them from Amazon. ;) You can use a similarly-sized wood bead or even a pom pom if you have one.
