Game changer exercise for me, this is definitely fun and confidence building... I'm a brand new beginner at the age of 36 but this has really been fun to practice! Thanks!

That was very helpful. Thank you. I spent years trying to learn but the pick kept sticking in the strings. Perhaps this approach would help.

Another winner, Baron. ¡Muchas gracias, señor!
This video shows that you use grommets to suppress harmonics on the headstock, in addition to near the bridge. Haven’t yet seen others doing that at the headstock and wondered what led you to double-grommet your Ellis.

If you are playing the scale on the “D” string, do you use the “G” string as the base note? How do you know when to only play one string and when to play two?

What do you call that arm-guard thing on your mandolin, and which of your links above should I use if I want to buy one?

Is there a down up down up repeating picking technique, I’m 15 and I’m getting really good, but the only thing holding me back is the picking technique, and I’m having trouble switching between the strings when doing it in songs, I get caught or stuck a lot, is there a right way to do it correctly?

      He is playing open string on the D, and in A string, he starts by 5, 4, 2, 0 (D C# B A)

@@WritersInkTHEWORD | Mr. Collins-Hill has been teaching online since 2008 and has over 80,000 subscribers, reinforcing that he is a quite capable and respected mandolin teacher who produces "good lesson videos" for tens of thousands of grateful students.
BTW ... There’s no reason “they should have the chords picture in the corner.” He’s illustrating right-hand technique and playing variations on scales, not chords.
If you “can't find good lesson video anywhere,” you can use books. Alternately, you can hire a professional instructor. If none of these work, you may not have sufficient diligence, patience, and the other traits essential for playing a musical instrument.
