Doxology - Hymn Modification for Church Pianists - Online Piano Lessons

This is an old video that I never published! I plan to redo it but thought I would share until then.
This video lesson covers the concept of modifying a 'Hymn' for church pianists that want to go further than playing what's written on the page, but not completely changing the hymn.

I feel like another problem with the way hymns are written is that they feel cluttered in how they write the chords. like one hand will play a single note of a triad and the left hand will play the other two. I don't get why they didn't write one note on the right and the whole cord on the left.
