    Love how Geissele includes a slave pin with their triggers...definitely helpful. Great video Caleb!

    Just installed a Brownell's BG-C in my Rifle and the Trigger kit did not include a slave pin. With some creative punch usage and words that are not spoken the Trigger was installed. I also installed a Radian Talon Safety as well. One tip when installing these together. Put the safety Lever together then install the Trigger and Hammer before installing the detent and spring and Hand Grip. Just a little something I dealt with while installing the assemblies. I had to move things around and use my small punch as a guide pin on my Trigger. Once in place Shazam all is well and works as advertised. Like the videos they are helpful, and You remove the mystery when it comes to the inner workings of AR Platform. You helped an Old Man tune his Rifle.

      The Brownell BG-C also comes with two trigger springs for 4 lbs and 3.2 lbs so be sure to use the one you want. The 4 lbs spring comes installed on the trigger and the 3.2 lbs spring is loose in the bag. I also found it easier to install the safety after installing the trigger and before installing the hammer. Really not difficult to install though.

      @@Doubleohcasper I just went with their G2S trigger since I really dont have the experience to be able to fully embrace the added benefit of a more advanced trigger system like the 3 gun triggers, ssae, etc. However, its a great basic 2 stage trigger for someone like me and still offers Geissele’s quality standards 🤙

    The only thing I would consider doing differently is apply the lube before installing as it is easier to reach some of the surfaced with the trigger group outside the rifle. In this video it was mentioned using your thumb to hold the hammer as it is released but it should be stressed that allowing the hammer to strike the lower can damage the lower. I shove a rag inside the lower in front of the hammer to soften the hammer blow if I am going to test it multiple times. Most triggers do not come with smooth pin for the trigger installing. It is not required and typically no harder to line up than the hammer.

    For anyone watching this - you can’t upgrade your SSA to an SSA-E with just a swap of the springs - but you can upgrade and SSA-X to and SSA-E-X just by installing the “SSAE-X Spare Spring Kit Part#08-409”

    The Geissele G2S (1) does not come with a slave pin, and (2) has a round spring clip that goes onto the right side of the hammer. This clip holds the hammer pin in place, not a center one inside the hammer. One must put this onto the hammer before putting it in, and it can be fiddly. I found after doing a number of them that the Geissele grease on that side of the hammer around the hole helps hold it on. In addition, Geissele makes a tool that can be used to help install the trigger and hammer. You push it all the way through from the left side and then follow it back out with the trigger and hammer pin from the right side. Tool is a stainless steel rod slightly smaller in diameter than a pin with a black knob on it to help hold, manipulate it to line things up, and push on it.

    Geissele instructions say this can be done with the safety installed. Caleb evidently knew better. Certainly MUCH easier without the safety, in fact I doubt it can be done at all with the safety as you can't get spring out of the vertical enough to compress it. Also, the first step in the instructions is the spring replacement. I wanted the lighter spring and so I did that before I knew the pin was removable, so I damaged the springs getting it changed. Pin removal comes after spring replacement in the instructions; that's just wrong. Worst of all, there's no diagram identifying the parts mentioned in the instructions, beyond hammer and disconnector. It's installed, and it's working, but it could have been a lot better experience.

      If you watch the video, he clearly says that it's recommended that you install the trigger BEFORE the safety. Now he didn't say you can't install the trigger with the safety already installed. Unfortunately, I already installed my safety/grip. Which sucks because I need to now uninstall it and I'm leary of that spring and detent might go shooting off into the nether. SIGH

    I have a LWRCI IC DI that has an ambidextrous safety system.... For the life of me I can't figure out how to remove it to install the geissele trigger. I loosened the grip yet the safety lever refuses to move.

    • @josephrobison2601
      @josephrobison2601 3 місяці тому

      there is pin that holds the right side lever on. You have to drive that pin out and remove the right side selector lever, then the selector will come out of the left side after you loosen the grip enough to drop down the detent and spring. Daniel Defense has a screw that makes it a little easier.
