      They sold each other to Muslim races and ate who was left until the Europeans made them stop.
      That’s all if sub Saharan Africa’s history, comprehensively. They could never build anything - literally anything - and have squandered and destroyed what the Europeans built.

    Clumsy Africans fighting over religions that are foreign to them. How refreshing. Also, I think Babangida wanted to clinged on to power because liked the way princes Diana gazed at him when they met. It was an hypnotic experience for him to have a white lady with such status stare at him in such a flattering way. Most Africans petite bourgeoisie on the continent live to share similar experience.

      It's too simplistic to blame the problem of Nigeria on only on corruption.
      As a friend do say, corruption is not the route cost of any problem but a reaction to the problem.
      When you look too deep to see that the following;
      1) population explosion
      2)a lack of productivity amongst the general populace
      3) religious extremism
      4) deep rooted cultural problems
      Are bigger problem than corruptions than most of you cry about.

      In terms of Prudent use of resources and following due process I believe the short time Yar Adua spent as president should have been the best. Unfortunately, in addition to not staying long in office due to ill health leading to his death, his regime had the misfortune of being badly affected by the world financial meltdown of 2008. But Obasanjo who stayed 8 years cleared the debts, increased foreign investments, reduced unemployment and opened up the economy more innovately than his predecessors. Obasanjo bringing out Yar Adua was the best thing he did for Nigeria. Yar Adua continued the good economic policies of Obasanjo while in office. I therefore adjudge him as the best given the facts.
