I heard these young lads at the Skeffinton Arms Pub in Galway in May of 2018, and they were fantastic. I live in New York and the wonderful music that The Kings Of Connaught played that night was one of the many reasons that I can't wait to return to Ireland again! I wish them all the success in the world!
Great performance! I'm so happy to know that there's still young people that likes irish music, not all that rubbish some singers do now... Ye're awsome!!! :3
When I was young and in my prime And could wander wild and free There was always a longing in my mind To follow the call of the sea Chorus: So I'll sing farewell to Carlingford and farewell to Greenore And I'll think of you both day and night Till I return once more, till I return once more On all of the stormy seven seas I have sailed before the mast And on every voyage I ever made I swore it would be my last (Chorus) Now, I had a girl called Mary Doyle And she lived in Greenore And the foremost thought that was in her mind Was to keep me safe onshore (Chorus) Now, the landsman's life is all his own He can go or he can stay But when the sea gets in your blood When she calls you must obey (Chorus)
I think the boys are have great potential but the singing is a bit flat. Listen to Luke Kelly's version of this song and see how he injects feeling into it. You all play extremely well and I think we will hear a lot more of The Kings of Connaught!
Hear like real mastrpiece! Compilation of modern and folk music!

When I was young and in my prime
And could wander wild and free
There was always a longing in my mind
To follow the call of the sea
Chorus:
So I'll sing farewell to Carlingford and farewell to Greenore
And I'll think of you both day and night
Till I return once more, till I return once more
On all of the stormy seven seas
I have sailed before the mast
And on every voyage I ever made
I swore it would be my last
(Chorus)
Now, I had a girl called Mary Doyle
And she lived in Greenore
And the foremost thought that was in her mind
Was to keep me safe onshore
(Chorus)
Now, the landsman's life is all his own
He can go or he can stay
But when the sea gets in your blood
When she calls you must obey
(Chorus)
I thought that they would be the next big group from Ireland as they were great . It seems that they disbanded
