I got to see Martijn for the first time in N.O. in 1996 or so during a music conference I was working. The 'keyboard' provided was a piece of junk. Luckily, Carl 'Sonny' Leyland loaned him a real electric keyboard, and he was amazing!! Next time I saw him was at the Winston International in Amsterdam in 2001 during yet another music conference (A2A.) The Radiators were the headliners for the opening party. He began playing 'Tipitina', and the Radiators (and me) became his fans forever!
Love it.could listen to it all day.Reminds me of the early '40s during the prohibition
Wonderful...I love the way he does accents in left hand (from 0:37).He is brilliant player.

You're a monster!
cooool.........
cooool...
Agree...
Okay, I may turn some people off with this, but I do say it with respect for the man's obvious skill: The big, rolling octaves in the left hand, while admirably attempted (they're very athletic) do not have the completely comfortably in-the-pocket feel that I think would better serve the opening to a Boogie Woogie Festival. There, I said it.
If you give Chris Cons (sp?), Johann Blohm, or Vince Weber's "Vince the Prince" video a listen, you'll get what I mean.
Again, no disrespect intended.
i got the right parts good , my damn left hand just needs so much training !!!
Put me down for " Dis I Like !! "
@URIZHEY ..... One of what he's drinking please...... oh yeah......Im with him baby ;-> cool
@2bx2b :))))))) I think that depended on where you lived, ever get down to the South?
Rhapsody Rabbit =)
hay euhm one question have anyone the notes of this??
@URIZHEY You forgot the stripped shirt and derby hat. lol
Mster on the piano!
I am trying to create an accurate score with the piano part in Jailhouse Rock!
Does anyone know of a good a accurate score / recording by someone else / Original Master recording :) or video of the piano part of Jail House Rock as it appears on the actual Elvis 1957 song?.
Can anyone recommend me any method or person to successfully isolate the piano part in the 1957 recording in Jailhouse Rock?
ISOLATING THE PIANO PART-
--(My attempt)---:
-- reinforcing the piano trying to remove other parts--
Based on the stereo take 6 (The one Released, found on UA-cam
Elvis Presley - Jailhouse Rock (takes 5 and 6 in stereo)
I have enhanced the piano Part on this recording using Audacity, I have:
* Copied the Left channel which has the piano guitar and drums, (but hardly any Elvis Vocals) and pasted this audio from the left channel on both channels of a new audio track.
* Created form this track, a new track with no guitar sound by:
- Creating a "Noise Profile" of the Guitar's First Chord
- Removed that sound footprint from recording
and then I "rendered and Mixed" (in Audacity) this isolated Piano track with guitar removed, (sounded like jingles - not usable on its own as an audio of the Piano) with the original track that had vocals removed (content of the left channel in the original recording)
The result is this:

I dont think so, since the bass strings are so big, that you would need to have a 6 centimeter hammer to hit teo of them...
@rickosports you are right! This guy is fantastic ,but piano :(
@woodz60 Hi there, check out some real old boogie. Look up jimmy yancey, pete johnson, albert ammons, mead lux lewis (the greatest) then you'll be really hooked.
I've got some from most of them on my page.

@URIZHEY , uh not really sure, considering Boogie Woogie piano style had nothing to do with the Old West, and only came into being in the 1930s. I think you need to learn your music history. Sounds to me like your thinking of saloon music...
nothing haha
not bad but the sound isn't quite what I'd expect..the video sound is good but it's the instrument..It's just not boogie sounding
