@@cornfartsJesus is in prayer, the night before his death. The Father is a person of the trinity, an explanation of which would triple the length of this comment. Suffice it to say, Jesus is in prayer.
The cup he is referencing is an Old Testament motif representing God's judgement stored up for the wicked. (Psalm 75:6-8, Isaiah 51:17-20, Jeremiah 25:15-29) In his death, Jesus would take the wrath of God, sacrificing himself to save all from their sins. This wrath of God he would bear for our sake caused him great anxiety to think of, so he asked that it would be taken from him. If there were any way besides his death, he asked that he be spared, but nevertheless, my Lord was willing to deny his will, to fulfill what had to be done. He denied himself, his eathly desires, and took up his cross.

My heart hurts knowing what The Lord Jesus endured for us who he has loved forever! 💔
If you’re going with a biblical theme, you could also do one for Golgotha.
We will never know the terror that the Christ faced when He was about to be offered for the sins of the world.
For those six hours on the cross, GOD the Son would, for the first time in all eternity, know separation from GOD the Father as He was offered up as our Sin Bearer.
This is the Passion of the Christ, Who willingly took upon Himself the sins of the world, and the Holy Judgment that should have been ours to bear.
But Love Incarnate stepped in - not only washing the repentant of their sins, but as a result of His death and resurrection was able to grant eternal life to us fallen mortals, transforming all who receive Him from condemned sinners to commended saints!
THANK YOU for this moving piece! I could hardly keep a dry eye as I listened to this and thinking of good and gentle Jesus suffering the violent ravages of heinously destructive sin on His pure soul!
The blessedness of His declaration: "I am He that was dead and behold I am alive ever more" brings me great joy and solace!! ❤

Seriously? Prior to and after this "event" humans have subjected each other to horrendous torture and death! You can't tell me Jesus suffered more than anyone being tortured for days/weeks/etc at the hands of, say, the Inquisition during the Middle Ages... there's a book titled The Martyrs Mirror that will curdle your blood from the detailed description of torture...
Even the two thieves suffered longer than Jesus...

What a moving piece of music and I wish I had it in my mind when I saw the Garden of Gethsemane back in 2014 while we were in Jerusalem! At this time as we near Easter, what a timely piece of music for all of us to enjoy!
My husband and I had our trip to Israel in October last cancelled because of the war and it is cancelled again this October. I pray to go to Israel but if it’s not Gods will then I wait to see The Lord when I’m resurrected on the last day to live with him for eternity.

Road-rage-be-gone music. It's simply impossible to have road rage when you're listening to this on the drive home. I was simply not considered with the mundanity of driving the interstate home, because I was seeing the world as a magical time traveler who was seeking the lost city of Ur. Because it was important to me to launch an expedition to excavate the city in the present day, as well as telling everyone online 😄

@@RufoZein That’s not how it works. Jesus sat with tax collectors and prostitutes. Most of the disciples were not good people before they met Jesus. The whole point, literally the fundamental reason behind his actions, was to offer himself up as the ultimate Sacrificial Lamb, so that simply believing in him would save you.
You don’t have to be innocent; it’s entirely based on faith and belief.
I was fascinated by the magnificent and beautiful tone.

People have said that Jesus suffered and sweat blood while praying here because He was afraid to die on the Cross, but this is not so. The reason He sweat blood and suffered such agony that He began asking His Father to remove that cup wasn’t fear but rather because this was the start of the Atonement. It was at this moment that the weight of our sins and our sufferings were placed on His shoulders, and He would carry them all the way to Golgotha. He suffered here and on the Cross for our sins, but also for our pain. There is nothing you’ve done that He didn’t make restitution for here and on the Cross, but there’s also nothing you’ve felt that He didn’t feel. He knows and understands what you’re going through, because He felt it as though He were the one going through it. And there is also nothing you’ve done that cannot be redeemed through His Atonement.
Beautiful! Yes, Jesus was not a victim, but a Victor. He went willingly. For me, for you, so we could be as one with Him and God the Father. At- One-ment.
