The Cardinal is correct, the biretta is not forbidden and priests may wear it processing to, and from the altar for Mass. . Many younger priests are now using it, along with the return of the cassock.
I am 74 and c when I served mass as a kid each of the 3bpriests wanted their baretta presented to him a different way. 2 of the 3 were understanding if you handed it to him wrong, but the 3 rd priest , the pastor would just stand and stare at you until you got it right
Among some "high church" Anglicans, the biretta is still worn in procession, not only by those in holy orders but also by seminary students assisting at the Mass. This is a reminder that centuries ago, the biretta was an academic distinction in some places.
Eminence! If the black or purple ones got rid of that silly pompom, and all of them got rid of those useless ridges, I would consider wearing a biretta. Otherwise, into the garbage!
Firstly, they do not all have a pom pom. Secondly, the ridges are part of the design, without them, you’re just wearing a random cap. Lastly, your remarks are quite dismissive of an object used by the church for a long time.

I simply asked for the time and you went on to tell me how to build a watch!

May I ask, what’s the name of the cardinal ?
Oswald Cardinal Gracious
Traditional (licit) priests wear them.
@b-a-boonthey probably do. Being traditional doesn’t mean schismatic. It’s just a matter of preference to the priest.
The novus ordo church and religion masquerading as the Catholic Church has no Tradition and is modernism 101, the synthesis of all heresies.
And you display a fundamental misunderstanding of the word tradition in the true Catholic sense.
If u are not in communion with the Bishop of Rome, you are in heresy.
@hanmirz4803 And what you call the Norvus Ordo, but is in fact called the Roman Missal, IS in communion with Rome.
@@andrewelliott1939 Just about!
Everybody point and laugh at the schismatic !!! 😂😂😂🫵
I know one that still wears his!

Why not what's the big deal.
The biretta started falling into disuse even before Vatican II in some countries.
Your honour Cardinal , thank you very much, GBU
It is very much still worn.

Because there are no priests in the novus ordo sect and that they don’t want anything unnecessary Catholic which doesn’t aid there deception
O dear!!! It's really time you matured.
It's ''their'' not ''there.
