What's your most used weapon in MHW?? edit: just wanted to say, this is a guide for what to grind for, not how to grind to it. I know that's what a lot of you wanted, so I'll be looking to make a video with progressional sets throughout the story and endgame. Again, this is the BEST weapons, so you should expect that it will be endgame (Fatalis) gear, as that's the final final boss. Sorry if any of that was not made clear, I just made this to give you an idea of what to try and get to make the best set for your specific weapon!
have years into gunlance, I would also argue white night being the best for normal shelling though...no gem slots and it has level 7 but so does gold rathian queens panolpy with gem slots and passive poison damage, 10% affinity and very decent white sharpness that can be boosted to purple with handicraft. Gotta say frostfang is good and has high ice damage but its raw damage is lower and the only thing its got going is high ice for very specific monsters like alatreon.
Little note on the kinsects: it's true that speed is very important, but in Iceborne they added the vertical dive move which is followed by the kinsect which pierces everything in its path. For that reason, it can be very useful and satisfying to use a very slow kinsect with very high damage, cause the slower it is, the more tics of damage it does, and if you're good you can make up for the lack of speed
Additionnal note: the Kinsect Drill has some kind of damage boost for the kinsect while performing it. The kinsect also deals more element than raw damage, let's use the Vezirstag III Forz for exemple: for an element stat at lvl20 the kinsect have a base element of 350 and 2 buffs can be applied to boost it's element, the glaive's kinsect boost "element boost" (×1,4) and the kinsect charge "strength" (×3,5) which gives 350×1,4×3,5=1715 element... and for a raw stat at lvl19 the kinsect have a base raw of 155 and 2 buffs can be applied to boost it's raw, the glaive's kinsect boost "sever boost" (×1,3) and the kinsect charge "strength" (×1,5) which gives 155×1,3×1,5=302,25 raw... some damage exemples I can give are 190 damage on Kulve's Horn in 4th area with the Vezirstag III Forz (Ice) or 136 on Kulve's Gold Mantle (when heated) in 2nd area (Thunder) or 114 on Savage Jho's back/belly (dragon) etc.... with an average of ~100+ damage per tick on the Kinsect Drill (So YES element IS mandatory on kinsects and YES you'll need to craft 5 of each kinsects to be able to switch between elements)
@@GoBlueHTB eh to be fair the IG is a pretty nuanced weapon, but even the slightest research should have uncovered the drill combo with a slow kinsect.
SnS Meta is almost always 4 pieces of Velkhana Gamma and Fatalis Waist Alpha due to Frostcraft being absolutely broken on SnS. The only exception is if you can land a truly egregious amount of Perfect Rush hits in a row. Then you're looking at a max might Fatalis set, but that only really happens in a few speedruns. Get that damage up out there hunters.
An important note for bow that was missed. The Alatreon bow is actually the most powerful dragon bow. And is quite possibly the most powerful dragon element weapon in the game. If you use kjarr bow decay the damage is comparable, but Alatreon does more dps. If you are using coalescence then the Alatreon bow blasts the kjarr out of the water. That and you dont use Safis armor either. Better to use 2 piece velkhana gamma(head and feet), and 3 piece fatalis armor(chest, arms, waist). This is actually the optimal dps setup for dragon.
You get critical element iirc, also you have 70 shots of power coatings and infinity amount of Close Range coatings so its not that big of a problem not having spare shot.
The advice for Dual Blades is a bit off. Alatreon Madness for Dragon element blows Kjarr away, (especially on a Frostcraft setup) but even with just 2 pieces Velkhana it is superior. Also using Taroth Fire DB (white sharpness) with at least 2 pieces of Velkhana and Free Element 3 is stronger than Kjarr Fire (blue sharpness). Additionally, raw DB (Fatalis Dual Skies) are definitely a thing and are optimal in a lot of hunts like Nami, Zinogre, Stygian, Ruiner etc. Just not as many hunts as Elemental DB. In general I would advise against using Safi armor with Elemental sets because even though it does provide more ele it does not compare to how much raw you can get from Frostcraft or Inheritance (Velk or Fatalis armor) and those 2 sets are ultimately more damage even on Elemental builds. The only times you should be using Safi armor with DB is if you are specifically targeting a non-weak point and need the affinity from True Dragonvein Awakening (like hitting Lunastra's hind legs for trips) or are trying to topple Alatreon faster. Otherwise you are just gimping your damage and hurting yourself. I have thousands of DB hunts in MHW, it is my favorite weapon and I've tried just about every combination of gear against the mid-late game monsters. I don't want to be that guy I'm just trying to keep the facts straight. Happy hunting 💙
as a switch axe player: there is almost 0 examples of anything beating raw when using fatalis (apart from playing into the alatreon mechanic and some hyper specific speedrun tech) and even if some element would beat out lightbreak/shatteraxe the difference is not worth the farm. On another note if for some reason you want to be playing all the elemental swaxes alatreon beats kjarr decay so you dont need that one at all even if you are memeing
For cb, I went mixed brachy and uragaan. The skills you want (for saed) are artillery, challenger secret, guard up/uragaan secret, ironside, weakness exploit, capasity boost, health boost and divine blessing (if possible). Parts are brachy helm A, brachy chest B, uragaan arms B, brachy waist B or A (I don't remember), uragaan legs B.
Sweet guide man. I really appreciate it. I made a list of weapons to get now that I’ve finally beaten fatty after not playing for like 4 years. Can’t wait to grind it out.
For kinsects you can also go lowest speed high attack for extra kinsect drill damage when you do the dive attack makes getting essence substantiall harder though. THen the raging brachy weapon is amazing second highest raw damage plus blast on it.
One thing MH Rise did much better than World is balancing the weapons and making way more options viable and competitive with one another. You can either go raw or element for pretty much any weapon and every weapon gets a max rarity upgrade so there’s way more variety and balance. World had a huge problem where 90% of the weapons in the tree were trash so you only had a few options in the end game that were actually good
Unfortunately the Frost Fang GL just cannot compete with how over tuned the fatalis GL is both for slap lance and normal shelling styles. It just cannot be beat!
For people watching don't underestimate using a Safi weapon with maybe a sharpness boost, and no negative affinity to fit more comfort skills into your build.
A word on light bowgun. While not meta, the soulfire rasp "ruin" for evading reload spread 2 and the taroth blitz "support" for rapid fire normal 2 are both very fun options.
iirc for DBs you want 3 piece safi and 2 piece fatty for armor (unless your playing thunder then its 5 piece safi) just a tip for my DB brothers! also getting fatty DBs with 3 piece safi 2 piece fatty and augmenting some element on it is surprisingly great on raw match ups, you get around 480 elem which is insane for the amount of raw you have!
For greatsword frostcraft is a must, 20-30% extra damage for free is huge. The strongest set you can make is arch tempered Velkhana armor with the Black Fatalis Blade, however in order to get the most out of this set you’re really going to want some rare jewels like expert+4 and handicraft +4. So using a Safi greatsword with Velkhana divinity is much easier to build for but you will have around 50 less raw than the Fatalis greatsword. You can also use the Fatalis GS but stick with mostly draw attacks as that’s not nearly as demanding to reach 100% affinity. The Velkhana beta armor is quite bad so you want to beat AT Velkhana asap Frostcraft is busted with Sword and Shield so id recommend using AT Velkhana armor for SnS as well
Great vid! Thanks for all the info, and of course this comes out when I finished making sets and loadouts for all the weapons I use. Back to brainstorming!
Particularly SnS I'd recommend trying out Frostcraft builds they go really hard on raw and element. I'd imagine it'd be grest for other weapons as well
Great video but can you do a best weapon for low/mid Master Rank? Like a pre Guiding Lands / Early Guiding Lands/ just beat Shara type of list. Think everyone knows about how strong fatalis is, but what about a list under MR 24 where you don’t have access to Safi/Fatalis/ gold/silver fly boys, Rajang etc. Think that list would help a lot more than this one. Thanks, great stuff as always.
Shara weapons tend to be good for raw melee at that stage in the game. 3 pieces of teo armor for master's touch then just hit 100% crit and stack attack if you can. for LBG the yian garuga LBG is nice for sticky, for HBG the shara is best for sticky 3, viper tobi for pierce 3, and zinogre for spread 3. Make and use the spare shot/razor sharp charm or go for 3 piece narga for spread/pierce or 3 piece Zorah for sticky. hope that helps! if you have any other questions just let me know :D
Nope, not buying it. Cry in the Night is the Best Support HH. It's 7 different Melodies are objectively extremely useful to have on any hunt and that's not including the personal Melody or the ScoutFly Melody that also comes with it.
@@dobby1774 This video is about "The *BEST ENDGAME WEAPONS* for EACH Weapon Type". It doesn't specify DPS only. The Best HH is Cry in the Night. No other Horn has that collection of Melodies making it Uniquely Superior and undeniably useful in any Hunt.
@@martinerhard8447 Monsters' Resistances go up with every Status Proc, Sleep builds are only good if the team is coordinated to take advantage of it. Everyone benefits from Cry in the Night and it only relies on you playing the Melodies and refreshing them when needed.
And to add another comment here, I want to ask if you considered using Kulve Taroth Weapons, 4 Pieces of Fatalis armor and one Kulve Armor. I have a favorite set that I use and can highlight a jewel to put in: Kulve Taroth Axe Sleep (Free Element) Fatalis Helm B Fatalis Chest A (Free Element) Fatalis Arms B Fatalis Waist A (Free Element & Earplugs) Kulve Taroth Legs A With this set, and empty slots than the mentioned jewels get me the following skills: Stun Res 3, Evade Window 3, Weakness Exploit 3, Crit Eye 3, Free Element 3, Crit Boost 2, Peak Performance 1, Earplugs 1. This unlocks the sleep, and can get you Earplugs 5 when doing the ZSD. Again, you have freedom to decorate in whatever you want. Note: Forgot to add that you get a free Guts skill for combining two Kulve Taroth equipment (weapon & legs)
9:38 the actual best kinsect is far and away the Vezirstag III Forz, as it has the slowest speed and the highest power. The reason you want a slower speed bug is because the Descending Thrust Bug Drill does a LOT more damage with slow bugs, so ideally, you want slow speed, high power, which makes Vezirstag III Forz the best. Foliacath III Forz was only the best kinsect in base world, when Descending Thrust wasn't a thing yet, and thus you wanted the fastest speed possible to make it easier and faster to gather extracts. If you are new to Insect Glaive, nurturing Foliacaths is good for learning the playstyle of glaive, but once you become more experienced, you should definitely at least nurture a few Vezirstags and learn to adapt to the slower flight speed. I've seen my bug drill Fatalis in the head for 5 hits of 95 damage each before on a single drill. You're simply not going to get anywhere near those numbers with any of the 3 kinsects listed in this video.
Hey, I saw some comments mentioning that they didnt know what to do from shara ishvalda or whatever to raging brachy. I played world and iceborne on release so i kinda remember what was meta, but it was mostly gold rathian and acidic glavenus for raw damage. For acid glav you had to run protective polish tho. If you dont have protective polish and arent mr 70 for gold rath, try using shara ishvalda weapons. I remember his greatsword was slightly meta until everyone got to gold rathian.
I personally prefer all Safi weapons for Bow. By the time you get to 4 piece fatalis you can essence velkhana and rock the Rimeguard Y feet to get critical element on top of the best set in the game. I like the ease of only needing 1 set for everything bow. The only acception is the Alatreon bow because of how powerful it is. Would be worth it to craft the Kulve B feet and drop critical element because of how high the dragon can go.
Only thing I disagree with is the comment about raw bow being mediocre based on the way you spoke about it b/c a lot of cases the raw will outperform for most people besides certain matchups just simply due to how absurdly strong 4p fatty and his bow are. Not only that but you are able to fit wayyy more QOL skills into your build and have more stamina
if youre going to play shield HBG, Safi's Pierce and Spread (Snipe cannon and Burst cannon, i think) would be better than fatalis. Zinogre and Tobi's would be the best for Spread 3 and Pierce 3 before getting Safi
Also before Zinogre because that’s a ways off use Great Jagras! Yes it beats HR kulve glutton in damage! The name of the gun is Gluttonous Direcannon and the spread 2s out damage it. You just need 1 shield and attack in every else.
@@GoToBedSheevayeah, cant get maximum knockback reduction with Fatalis HBG without dropping dps significantly Safi on the other hand can afford max knockback reduction while still dealing pretty good damage
I loved the Fatalis Ls. Surprised I know. But I love messing with a lot of different weapons that aren’t meta and early game I usually wear the skills I rock with over meta.
Or Raging Brachy if you can't get any of those. Like for real, it was nice getting better things to craft every update, but after the updates ended, new players don't have any variety
Idk I'm already trying to platinum the game, so a side goal is making every weapon, piece of armor, charm, palico gadget maxed out, all layered armor, and so on. The other day I played with a basic iron weapon just to have fun.
So idea that might make the idea around set crafting fun for the new people, maby a best in slot vid that doesn't involve the 4-10 DLC meta monsters? So focusing on just base iceborn monsters or best rarity 10 builds? Idk just something that ultimately only involves the monsters/weapons that actually cared about set building, theory crafting & fun, cos worlds meta days are done we don't need more videos about those, this should be the time we recommend the fun, excitement & experimentation that is apart of monster hunters original core community, the very reason monster hunter was a nich cult classic, people enjoying the game for just being a game, not something you need to spreadsheet for optimal damage to make someone ego feel equal to everyone else's bcos they all made the same UA-cam video build. Anyway just a suggestion do keep the fun of Monster Hunter going 👍!
Shara weapons tend to be good for raw melee at that stage in the game. 3 pieces of teo armor for master's touch then just hit 100% crit and stack attack if you can. For LBG the yian garuga LBG is nice for sticky, dont really recall for element lbgs. for HBG the shara is best for sticky 3, viper tobi for pierce 3, and zinogre for spread 3. Vaal's GL is usually better for long, it allows you to have more lifesteal. And fatalis is debatably better for normal, since you usually run prot. polish anyway
Im very far from end-game currently, but i've been using the Teostra-Daora dual blades, Fire and Ice, is it any good with being both ice and blast element?
Your better off using a full blast or ice dual blade. Any dual blade with two elements halves the chance of hitting with that element or status. In other words, one blade has ice the other blast. And you only hit with that element or status effect every other hit. So you won't get the most out of either attack. Full element or status is always best. But you can still have fun with the ones your using😊.
they're not that great. typically going for a single element for what the monster you're hunting is weak to will net you more damage. for example on Rathalos, he's very weak to dragon, so going for dragon element dual blades will deal more damage than any other element/status. for diablos he's very weak to ice, so just ice dual blades will deal more damage than your blast/ice dual blades
@@ShortySeconds2Mars i learned from watching videos Years ago. Im a dual blade main and was using the same blades as you. When i tested this for myself using single element versus split element blades i found this to be true. Sorry i can't tell you which video i watched since it was 6 years ago. But what i said previously is what i was told. The answer actually made me a little sad because i liked those weapon. you can beef them up with decorations but those same deco's in single blast or ice blade will get you much more damage. Test it for yourself👍.
For switchaxe basically only the fatty axe is worth it. Using element is not worth it or in niche cases only barely better if hitting perfectly The taroth sleep switchaxe is extremely good due to several reasons
Hol up Lord V...Kjarr Fire Dual Blades is a no-no....Taroth or Safi are your best options with the latter being more flexible. Rapid Fire Normal 3 from the Taroth Blitz "Support" or Raging Brachy LBG is decent and fun against Seething Bagelcheese and the metal Raths (given you can land shots on the head, wings and tail consistantly)
at this point you shouldve just said "fatalis and safi weapons for basically all of them... lets cover the other weapons right underneath" so theres actually a variety instead of 15 minutes of just fatalis and safi
yay im not the only one who loves the CB...im nuts though i play all styles with all weapon types and mix it up on any and all fights...i dont stick to one style...i know this can hurt me in the long run depending on the fight but i just love kickin ass and takin names. I only concern myself with the numbers game when its absolutely necessary *cough* Alatreon Elem. Dps check *cough* ...i also love taking most monsters home alive and naming them Gorge🤪
@@LordViettner I love screwing with the AI …if my friends are over we’ll switch off in the middle of a fight just to see the game have a fit…because we all fight differently…too much fun to be had… 8000hrs in world/iceborne and counting…can’t get enough…
For the gunlance section you only discussed raw for each shelling type so, is it even worth making a gunlance for each element and if so, I assume safi jiva is superior due to augmentation or is one better off with kjarr
nah elemental GL is basically useless, UNLESS you're going for slap GL, in which case usually raw (fatalis) is better anyway. however i think, aside from fire and dragon, the kjarr GLs would probably be best for pure element
perfect timing I really want to use other weapons but I'm scared I will waste some resources, this help me a lot is there a list for early master rank weapons ?
Commented on a couple of your videos for returning to World/Iceborne and am enjoying the series. For me, I mainly use the Switch Axe and here is my go to armor set for my endgame: Fatalis Helm B Fatalis Chest A Alatreon Arms A Fatalis Waist A Fatalis Legs B Without decorations and charms I get Stun Res 3, Evade Window 3, Crit Eye 3, Attack Up 3, Power Prolonger 3, and Weakness Exploit 2. Leaves plenty of room to slot in what you want for skills.
I normally don’t recommend people to go the whole fatalis set. Normally what you wanna go for the best damage possible is Velkhana head Y, Fatalis chest B, Alatreon arms A, Fatalis waist A and Kulve taroth B. Challenger charm 5.
I’m so glad they added fatalis stuff, totally wanted to never think about my build and just farm jewels for ages. How awesome it is for a game built on completionism, variety and build diversity to have a single gear set that is perfect for all occasions! It’s great having new people just go straight for cheesing or being carried for the hardest fight in the game, just to cart 2-3 times on rajang. I hope they never do this again, it actively makes me tired of the community
To be fair, you’re not doing much building post-Fatalis anyway since there’s nothing else to kill that’s even nearly as strong as Fatalis. Though it would be nicer to have multiple OP endgame sets as opposed to the one, like the AT set group from base World. They could have made master rank AT sets the viable contenders with the Fatty armor post-Fatalis.
How are people cheesing or getting carried for Fatalis though? He has very, very few cheese options, if you could even call them that. And the game requires you to play the first phase solo anyway so as to weed out anyone too weak (like those who just beat Shara). Besides, carrying is a “problem” that spans across all the games anyway.
Isn't kulve α legs better than kulve β legs? Also a very needed and much appreciated vid would be what the best endgame (post-Fatalis) sets for all weapons for fighting Alatreon, mostly just so we could help out better in SoS hunts.
not always, the beta has better slots (2 level 2 slots compared to 1 level 2 and 2 level 1 slots). just depends on what you need for slots and skills. that was just an example, it's not always the go to option
I wish you went into some more weapons other than fatalis gear. It’s obvious that fatalis gear would be the best. If you went into the other weapons you could use to get to fatalis that would have been helpful
making a video on that right now, literally recording for it as I respond to this comment lol. Again, this is not a progressional video, this is purely the best ENDGAME only weapons. This is WHAT to get, not HOW to get it. HOW to and progressional video coming up soon!

@@LordViettner I was about to say i know about the rotations, couldnt find groups two weeks ago. working on kuve rn, maybe I will have mor luck in the future. I also joined a mhw discord server
Yup, another point for when Wilds comes out is how to keep the power scale without killing the game with some catch up mechanic. Don't get me wrong, the siege quests were fun and all, but leaving all the other monsters irrelevant is not good and makes the game monotonous.
could you do the best upgraded weapons, yes we all know stand alone weapons and siege weapons are very powerful, but what if I wanna use a iron or bone weapon to the very end, whats the best forms for each type
Isn't it kinda sad that a good game's end game gears are too few for theorycrafting. I mean it would be great if they add a second layer of mechanics e.g. increase crit dmg on paralyzed monsters or poisoned monsters will receive more elemental damage because their immune system is down. I mean, they do have the wake-up-damage-boost mechanic, surely, they can have more of these conditions for players in a team or a group of friends to think about.
Shara weapons tend to be good for raw melee at that stage in the game. if you've unlocked them, raging brachy or gold rathian weapons are top tier for that point in the game. 3 pieces of teo armor for master's touch then just hit 100% crit and stack attack if you can. Well, this guide came way to late for me, kulve event ended a week ago, and I crafted the fatalis dual skies, which sucks because i dont have good ‘mighty decos, and only crit when agitator is active. Well atleast i made vor buster.
Great video, some additions: CB: Savage axe elemental does around 5% more dmg then raw savage axe. Those phials are so much higher on big monster parts like Deviljhos chest. Gunner: for raw (pierce, spread, sticky) BiS armor is 4 fatalis + AT Velk legs (no shield mods that is) Also Safi HBG is better for spread with a shield. Fatalis looses too much dmg with 3 shield mods which is the recommended amount if you want a useful shield.
now when using bow safi weapons. so the thunder and water. would you still rock safi armor. wouldnt it be better to run velkhana on the weapon with 1 gear piece and the rest fatalis armor?
@@LordViettner fair enough. It does get pretty dull when the meta is dominated by such a limited amount of weapons. Master Rank tends to have a lot of power creep but it got to utterly ridiculous levels from Raging Brachy onwards
It really sucks that most of the meta builds are just fatalis or kjarr. I really wish they would update the game to add more variety to each weapon type. Maybe for the anniversary 👀
Well there’s variety in the non-meta options, but you have to realize that the current “meta” is really not super relevant because it’s after you’ve beat the hardest thing in the game. At that point nothing else can stop you anyway, so variety isn’t necessary. Before Fatalis and Kulve there’s a bit more variety in the elemental sets. Raw is typically just lightbreak and Safi though.
depends on the weapons, typically they are roughly the same. but kjarr crit element on most melee is very very good, since 100% crit is what you go for on 99% of sets

facts, fatalis is always a safe bet! dreamsplitter is sleep and shatter is blast. so if you want sleep during the hunt for a wakeup hit(for example: ua-cam.com/video/x9fx2icSPdY/v-deo.html) then dreamsplitter is insane

have years into gunlance, I would also argue white night being the best for normal shelling though...no gem slots and it has level 7 but so does gold rathian queens panolpy with gem slots and passive poison damage, 10% affinity and very decent white sharpness that can be boosted to purple with handicraft. Gotta say frostfang is good and has high ice damage but its raw damage is lower and the only thing its got going is high ice for very specific monsters like alatreon.
Did you forget dual blades?
Little note on the kinsects: it's true that speed is very important, but in Iceborne they added the vertical dive move which is followed by the kinsect which pierces everything in its path. For that reason, it can be very useful and satisfying to use a very slow kinsect with very high damage, cause the slower it is, the more tics of damage it does, and if you're good you can make up for the lack of speed
Additionnal note: the Kinsect Drill has some kind of damage boost for the kinsect while performing it.
The kinsect also deals more element than raw damage, let's use the Vezirstag III Forz for exemple: for an element stat at lvl20 the kinsect have a base element of 350 and 2 buffs can be applied to boost it's element, the glaive's kinsect boost "element boost" (×1,4) and the kinsect charge "strength" (×3,5) which gives 350×1,4×3,5=1715 element... and for a raw stat at lvl19 the kinsect have a base raw of 155 and 2 buffs can be applied to boost it's raw, the glaive's kinsect boost "sever boost" (×1,3) and the kinsect charge "strength" (×1,5) which gives 155×1,3×1,5=302,25 raw...
some damage exemples I can give are 190 damage on Kulve's Horn in 4th area with the Vezirstag III Forz (Ice) or 136 on Kulve's Gold Mantle (when heated) in 2nd area (Thunder) or 114 on Savage Jho's back/belly (dragon) etc.... with an average of ~100+ damage per tick on the Kinsect Drill
(So YES element IS mandatory on kinsects and YES you'll need to craft 5 of each kinsects to be able to switch between elements)
Same here. I don’t need a fast kinsect. The highest speed is not that important if you know what you are doing.
yeah kinsect drill is just too strong and its so satisfying when you drill a kulve from head to tail ^^
Yeah honestly the moment I saw he was citing kinsects that were only meta in base World, he immediately started to lose credibility IMO.

@@LordViettner You're welcome, just thanks to keep in mind that I'm not an expert in every weapon and that some of them might be wrong :3
@@romainlagreze9624where did you see Taroth are better than Kjarr in DPS have you made some calculations ?
Where ya facts at?
An important note for bow that was missed. The Alatreon bow is actually the most powerful dragon bow. And is quite possibly the most powerful dragon element weapon in the game. If you use kjarr bow decay the damage is comparable, but Alatreon does more dps. If you are using coalescence then the Alatreon bow blasts the kjarr out of the water. That and you dont use Safis armor either. Better to use 2 piece velkhana gamma(head and feet), and 3 piece fatalis armor(chest, arms, waist). This is actually the optimal dps setup for dragon.
why only 3, you miss out the true spare shot skill with that. what's the trick here?
You get critical element iirc, also you have 70 shots of power coatings and infinity amount of Close Range coatings so its not that big of a problem not having spare shot.
@@ValkynShade you don't need spare shot. It's nice to have yes. But if you are trying to get max DPS output this build will be optimal.
Ala is just the best dragon ele for every weapon
I’d love to see a Rathian or something deleted by that build 😅
This is why Sunbreak engame > Iceborne endgame. Everytime I play Rise every players wearing different sets and gear
100% agree, if MH Wilds is world gameplay with Sunbreak endgame style, it'll be the best game ever
Hello. What do you mean by inheritance increasing raw damage?
as a switch axe player: there is almost 0 examples of anything beating raw when using fatalis (apart from playing into the alatreon mechanic and some hyper specific speedrun tech) and even if some element would beat out lightbreak/shatteraxe the difference is not worth the farm.
Thanks for making this guide. Certainly give a good pointer of what to look out for when grinding Safi and Kulve.
iirc for DBs you want 3 piece safi and 2 piece fatty for armor (unless your playing thunder then its 5 piece safi)
just a tip for my DB brothers! also getting fatty DBs with 3 piece safi 2 piece fatty and augmenting some element on it is surprisingly great on raw match ups, you get around 480 elem which is insane for the amount of raw you have!
Very few people know but the sleep pipe from Kulve is stupid broken for getting sleeps doing crazy good raw and chaining wall bangs with sleep.
This video came out right in time for me to revise all my build choices after almost 3 years of hiatus, thanks for the pokke village music as well.
Love the video keep it up it’s so hard to find a video that’s not 4 years old lol
Me still stuck with the bone HBG: "Your weapon is made of what?!?"
Me a saint? Nah, I'm just vibing to the Pokke theme in the background
The Velkhana beta armor is quite bad so you want to beat AT Velkhana asap
Frostcraft is busted with Sword and Shield so id recommend using AT Velkhana armor for SnS as well
Make and use the spare shot/razor sharp charm or go for 3 piece narga for spread/pierce or 3 piece Zorah for sticky.
hope that helps! if you have any other questions just let me know :D
thanks for the guide! i cant do fatalis sadly because he is a big roadblock for me rn. good video
Nope, not buying it. Cry in the Night is the Best Support HH. It's 7 different Melodies are objectively extremely useful to have on any hunt and that's not including the personal Melody or the ScoutFly Melody that also comes with it.
taroth sleep HH my guy
Doesnt just boost with songs but sents monsters to sleep a lot and sleep lets you wallbang enraged monsters again

I have a favorite set that I use and can highlight a jewel to put in:
Kulve Taroth Axe Sleep (Free Element)
Fatalis Helm B
Fatalis Chest A (Free Element)
Fatalis Arms B
Fatalis Waist A (Free Element & Earplugs)
Kulve Taroth Legs A
With this set, and empty slots than the mentioned jewels get me the following skills: Stun Res 3, Evade Window 3, Weakness Exploit 3, Crit Eye 3, Free Element 3, Crit Boost 2, Peak Performance 1, Earplugs 1. This unlocks the sleep, and can get you Earplugs 5 when doing the ZSD. Again, you have freedom to decorate in whatever you want.
Note: Forgot to add that you get a free Guts skill for combining two Kulve Taroth equipment (weapon & legs)
come for the DBs, stay for safi, kjar, fata
anyway thanks for making such a wonderful guide, good to see player back to World
9:38 the actual best kinsect is far and away the Vezirstag III Forz, as it has the slowest speed and the highest power.
You're simply not going to get anywhere near those numbers with any of the 3 kinsects listed in this video.
that's true, i didn't learn about that until after. it's great for that move specifically!
I remember his greatsword was slightly meta until everyone got to gold rathian.
just dropped a video covering that today! said the same things :D thanks for the comment
TLDR Raw fatty bow is better in a lot of cases or slightly worse but easier to run then elemental
if youre going to play shield HBG, Safi's Pierce and Spread (Snipe cannon and Burst cannon, i think) would be better than fatalis. Zinogre and Tobi's would be the best for Spread 3 and Pierce 3 before getting Safi
Yup fatalis is meant to be played without shield
Fatalis doesn't want his gun to be dirtied by the hands of degenerate shield users /s
Also before Zinogre because that’s a ways off use Great Jagras! Yes it beats HR kulve glutton in damage! The name of the gun is Gluttonous Direcannon and the spread 2s out damage it. You just need 1 shield and attack in every else.
@@GoToBedSheevayeah, cant get maximum knockback reduction with Fatalis HBG without dropping dps significantly
Safi on the other hand can afford max knockback reduction while still dealing pretty good damage
I loved the Fatalis Ls. Surprised I know. But I love messing with a lot of different weapons that aren’t meta and early game I usually wear the skills I rock with over meta.
Also for dual blades, taroth + true crit element (silver rathalos) it's quite powerful. But you loose à lot of valuable deco slot
After 1k+ hours, the only weapon I’ve never used is s&s. Am I the only one that gets thrown off by having the sword on the left hand???
I haven't tried elemental HBG's yet so thank you for mentioning it.
Sadly kjarr flame dual blades have blue sharpness even when its max upgraded still isn't worth it
When it comes to spread 3 HBG, the loyal thunder is my favorite.
Great video! Got a new sub from me man I love the updated 2024 MHW guides. I don’t remember how to do any of this shit lol
thanks! appreciate it :D
This did not need a video. Let me save yourself some time. Either use:
Fatalis Weapon, Safi Weapon or Kjarr elemental.
Thank for easy and clear guide, it's always hard to choose what reward to choose after Safi or Kjar
so tl:dr in regards to meele is fatalis and/or raging brach for raw, kjarr for elements
yeah basically, it's not nearly as diverse as Sunbreak's endgame...

@@RPGeenius is there any source on this, or its something the series in general has?
they're not that great. typically going for a single element for what the monster you're hunting is weak to will net you more damage. for example on Rathalos, he's very weak to dragon, so going for dragon element dual blades will deal more damage than any other element/status. for diablos he's very weak to ice, so just ice dual blades will deal more damage than your blast/ice dual blades
Actually I’ve found that the safi
Dark Shield is a incredible weapon as a alternate to safi shatter shield
For switchaxe basically only the fatty axe is worth it.
Using element is not worth it or in niche cases only barely better if hitting perfectly
The taroth sleep switchaxe is extremely good due to several reasons
Hol up Lord V...Kjarr Fire Dual Blades is a no-no....Taroth or Safi are your best options with the latter being more flexible.
Rapid Fire Normal 3 from the Taroth Blitz "Support" or Raging Brachy LBG is decent and fun against Seething Bagelcheese and the metal Raths (given you can land shots on the head, wings and tail consistantly)
Lemme guess before watching, Fatalis and Safi Blast/Poison weapons, Kjarr for elemental weapons.
correct 😂
at this point you shouldve just said "fatalis and safi weapons for basically all of them... lets cover the other weapons right underneath" so theres actually a variety instead of 15 minutes of just fatalis and safi
new video just released like 20 minutes ago with that info
Hello really nice video i wanted to ask would you recomend for chargeblade and switchaxe element or raw thanks for answer

Gunlance: Normal obviously Fatalis
For long either safi or hazak...hazak has the advantage of being able to fit more health auguments
For the gunlance section you only discussed raw for each shelling type so, is it even worth making a gunlance for each element and if so, I assume safi jiva is superior due to augmentation or is one better off with kjarr

Fatalis Helm B
Fatalis Chest A
Alatreon Arms A
Fatalis Waist A
Fatalis Legs B
Without decorations and charms I get Stun Res 3, Evade Window 3, Crit Eye 3, Attack Up 3, Power Prolonger 3, and Weakness Exploit 2. Leaves plenty of room to slot in what you want for skills.
Thats a pretty good set, i would go for chest B
@@ivancouto1028 I went with Alpha for the added Evade Window. Can still leave a level 3 slot to add whatever decoration I want.

Normally what you wanna go for the best damage possible is Velkhana head Y, Fatalis chest B, Alatreon arms A, Fatalis waist A and Kulve taroth B.
Challenger charm 5.
Frostcraft SNS actually has higher efr than fatalis on both raw and elemental
"..lord knows how many times.." Well, you're LordViettner after all, you can say it how many times you want. lol :D

correct, welcome to iceborne endgame xD
I’m so glad they added fatalis stuff, totally wanted to never think about my build and just farm jewels for ages. How awesome it is for a game built on completionism, variety and build diversity to have a single gear set that is perfect for all occasions! It’s great having new people just go straight for cheesing or being carried for the hardest fight in the game, just to cart 2-3 times on rajang. I hope they never do this again, it actively makes me tired of the community
yeah i much prefer the MH Rise and Sunbreak system where there's a ton of endgame build variety
In theory you can get all the Fatalis items with the Plunderblade Palico gadget@@mrsanguini5819
If you went into the other weapons you could use to get to fatalis that would have been helpful

hope that helps! if you have any other questions just let me know :D
Fire dual blades go with safi fire daggers because kjarr fire daggers only give you blue sharpness
Why didn't you mention the Fatalis gunlance for normal shelling instead of the White knight?
got tired of saying fatalis weapons were the best xD
@@LordViettner 😂😂😂
Well, this guide came way to late for me, kulve event ended a week ago, and I crafted the fatalis dual skies, which sucks because i dont have good ‘mighty decos, and only crit when agitator is active. Well atleast i made vor buster.
kulve will be back, it rotates with Safi every 2 weeks
Great video, some additions:
CB: Savage axe elemental does around 5% more dmg then raw savage axe. Those phials are so much higher on big monster parts like Deviljhos chest.
Gunner: for raw (pierce, spread, sticky) BiS armor is 4 fatalis + AT Velk legs (no shield mods that is)
Also Safi HBG is better for spread with a shield.
Just use Fatalis bow with his set
His bow is soo overtuned it’s ridiculous and ends up being better then elemental sets most of the time
Great "How to assert Dominance in game" Masterclass! Thanks for sharing your knowledge 🦊
thank you Nyx❤❤❤ new speedrun when?
Next week hopefully lololol @@LordViettner
Wasnt beotodus weapons outclassing kjarr, specificly i member cb
no Kjarr is significantly better than Beo CB
The *BEST ENDGAME WEAPONS* for EACH Weapon Type Is the title.
"insert all fatali weapon" here was the fucking logic.
Except it is not the best for element. Congrats!
Wait, why the frostfang barioth gunlance over the fatalis gunlance?
fatalis is great too, frostfang was to switch it up tbh, got tired of saying fatalis and frostfang is basically just as good
@@LordViettner fair enough. It does get pretty dull when the meta is dominated by such a limited amount of weapons. Master Rank tends to have a lot of power creep but it got to utterly ridiculous levels from Raging Brachy onwards
Seeing safi gs for frostcraft instead of fatty gs hurts
It really sucks that most of the meta builds are just fatalis or kjarr. I really wish they would update the game to add more variety to each weapon type. Maybe for the anniversary 👀
Well there’s variety in the non-meta options, but you have to realize that the current “meta” is really not super relevant because it’s after you’ve beat the hardest thing in the game. At that point nothing else can stop you anyway, so variety isn’t necessary.
Before Fatalis and Kulve there’s a bit more variety in the elemental sets. Raw is typically just lightbreak and Safi though.
highly unlikely, that would be nice tho. wish the endgame meta had more variety META sets like Sunbreak did
Ive found for Kjar ice CB a mix safi and Alatreaon provides better element
Wait question
isn't alatreon weapons better than dragon kjarr simply for the HUGE amount of element they have?
depends on the weapons, typically they are roughly the same. but kjarr crit element on most melee is very very good, since 100% crit is what you go for on 99% of sets
you didnt mention the Slice ammo bowgun
yeah that really hasn't been good since it got nerfed massively in base world
@@LordViettner but i saw that fatalis lbg has quickshot slice, i havent gotten to building that light bowgun so i dont know If its any good or just for silly fun
So how good is the lightbreak hunting horn?
solid, all lightbreak weapons are good
Okay thank you
Is there a raw difference between Safi's Dreamsplitter and Safi's Shattersplitter?
Also TL;DR: when in doubt, go fatalis lmao
facts, fatalis is always a safe bet! dreamsplitter is sleep and shatter is blast. so if you want sleep during the hunt for a wakeup hit(for example: ua-cam.com/video/x9fx2icSPdY/v-deo.html) then dreamsplitter is insane
@@LordViettner I know that, I was asking if the damage values for sleep and blast safi GS differs
@@andrejhofer2007blast is generally very good tho, consistent 300 dmg and faster procs, you/teamates don't accidentally wake up too
@@BadEnd98 I'm aware. Currently using Safi's Shattersplitter with a Frostcraft build in both solo and multiplayer hunts.
I just want to know if the Dreamsplitter has the same raw damage without factoring in blast procs
Can someone please explain the situation with the drops having an icon floating above them and how I can get it? Is it an option feature I need to turn on, or is it something I need to unlock to get?
it’s a mod on PC, visual only
this video should be titled BEST ENDGAME WEAPONS! (and why its all Fatalis)
valid xD
