I'm Argentinian and we drink it all the time, we put a straw in a cup and fill the cup with yerba and then we pour hot water from a thermos constantly until we finish. The thermos is usually one litre. There are different types of yerba mate check the brand 'adelgamate' it has a mix of herbs that help with weight loss. I usually just drink the regular one, the brand is Cruz Malta :)

The first time I tried Yerba Mate my father gave me a Mate gourd and told how it was traditionally drank. I filled the gourd and drank it down a few times. It gave me hot flashes and cold sweat. My father came home and I was sitting on the floor in only my underwear😂
