I love this Sue. Painting it now. It's amazing how much it looks like a beautiful brooch my Grandmother always wore on her winter coat. I have it now and wear it. Thank you so much for all of your videos. I hadn't painted in all of last year after my mother passed. Your tutorials brought back the need to paint again. I appreciate all the work you put into your art.
Awww thanks so much Lori your so sweet! I do love painting and enjoy so much sharing my artwork with others. This hobby can be very therapeutic. I lost my Dad about a year and half ago. My sympathy on the passing of your Mother I know that has to be so rough. I find that dot painting relaxes me and allows me to calm my mind when stressed or upset. I hope you can find that while your painting as well. Take care of yourself, and thanks so much for sharing, Sue.
@@SueSloan Doing ok, I'm have surgery Tuesday for two my fingers. I have trigger finger for awhile now . And it to the point if effecting everyday life. 🥴
@@tammyslatten aww hope it goes well for ya. I had carpal tunnel in both hands operated on then developed trigger thumbs both hands got those done too. Now my hands work! Hopefully you have a good outcome too 🥰
Thank you for another incredible design, Sue!! I love your tutorials--I think you are a genius of design! The black and white is very effective and wonderful!
I haven’t tried a black and white, but seeing this and watching you create it sure makes me want to try it. I’m also trying to envision doing this with two colors like what about a color shift base with a shade of that color for the dots? There’s just never enough time to paint everything I want to try, but I’m gonna keep trying. Lol. Thank you for another awesome video!!
Love your videos! I got a set of the tools you use (LOVE THEM) but they were a bit uncomfortable with my arthritis after a long painting session, so I got some pencil holder cushions and put them on and they are great now! :)
That’s great so happy you like them! I love mine too. I still have issues seeing the numbers with my old eyes lol. But I put tape on some and wrote them larger. Glad you figured out a solution too. 🥰
@@wizhat1 yes I have a set of those as well but there’s nothing wrong with the set I’ve been using for years now. So I have those saved in a drawer and only use them for pictures I want to look pretty lol. I’ll switch over one day but I kinda want to know how indestructible they are. I’m on like 2 1/2 years with this set.
It needs to be like a yogurt consistency. When you stick you tool (or brush) in the paint and pull it out you want the paint to peak just a bit but then fall quickly into a soft bump on your pallet or whatever your paint is in/on. If it’s to thick you will get points on your dots, if to runny it will flatten right away or even worse run or spread. Hope this helps you. 😀
I just got it from Walmart it’s just a cheap plastic one. If you want the same though go to my tools page I have it linked there. lovetocolor.com/pages/tools
I do not mix anything in the paint I used in this video its fine right out of the bottle. If your using a thicker paint you might need to add some pouring medium or liquid gloss or matte medium to thin it out some.
I painted this one on a record. So fun!
Always loved black and white, it’s so classic
Me too and I hardly ever do it, makes you think out of the box on design though because you do not have the color to add to it.
Loverly. I must stop staring at your beautiful work, it's moving. Lol.
TFS, & take care too everybody. ❤🙂🐶

This is really beautiful! What tools are you using for each step? And what are you using for medium and at what consistency?
I use DIY Mandala stones dotting tools they are on Etsy. And DecoArt Americana paint straight out of the bottle.
Ohhhhhhhhhh
In your opinion, what is the ideal paint consistency? I never know how runny the paint should be.
