What's really sad is at 2:20ish he shouts out various sets he was cool with. Amongst them : 800 YM, which ended up becoming opps with 051YM. Same with Jaro, STL, TW. And 800 Boss smooth directly disses him on the track "61 dead opps" amongst other tracks. It's really tragic to know that former friends diss him, and that people he once was in the trenches with switched up on him. Jaro literally being responsible for 051 Melly's death. The streets changed so much in just under 10 years for 051, despite that, they still hold it down. Though I wish they'd all just stop killing and focus on music, but that's just wishful thinking. Some wars actually go as far back as the 60s in chicago. Literally decades of blood shed by the same groups. And it was only made worse once the older people, the leaders of the gangs were taken off the street and the various gangs forced to move all over the city. Like when they shut down the BD stronghold and rounded up the leaders, that forced the BDs to move all over the place, and also left the young kids with no one to calm them or be remotely decent role models. Which lead to the current situation. Ironically going after the leaders made gang issues worse in chicago, which is the opposite of what you'd think. But that's life for you, it always has a way to creep up on you and bite your ass when your back is turned in new and "exciting" ways.
Despite the flaws, and the crimes, I do love drill rap. Its one of the most raw, real genres of rap. And I'd argue my love for rap is basically carried by drill. Being a metal head, I never thought I'd find a genre of rap I love. And once I did, I kinda started to get more into other rap. So, I dunno man. I don't really have a point here. Just rambling so I'll cut it off.
