Just a heads up..this a pig wrapped up In pretty packing...
I like buying the less expensive RC vehicles because I like doing my own upgrades and wrenching on them myself. My first RC purchase was the Hosim Q903, after contemplating the Traxxas E-Revo XL 1/16 scale. I dropped in a 2845 3970kv motor, 60a ESC, and Radiolink R7FG receiver (this came with the Radiolink RC6GS v2 radio I bought), and it was still under the price of the MERV, even with the purchase of the much better radio. You really can't go wrong with the less expensive vehicles, as long as you do some research first. The Q903 ran great out of the box without the upgrades. The parts are much less expensive and available on Amazon, some even have 2 day Prime shipping options. I've only been in the R/C vehicle hobby for a couple of months, but my take on Traxxas is this; they are basically the Macbook of the RC world. The prices are higher for the vehicles and parts, and many of the parts are proprietary. You won't say it, but the XLF X03 looks a lot like a Rustler 4x4 VXL to me. Only it's less than half the price and probably more durable.
I saw all of the positive review videos and the great rating on Banggood. My XLF 03 didn't even last 5 minutes before it stripped and became front wheel drive only. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS! Light your $100 on fire instead. It's easier. The worst part is the AWFUL service from Banggood. If you order one, SAVE everything. Even the shipping bag that comes wrapped around the box. They want pictures of the bag, the label, the box, the car, and videos of what is wrong. After providing them with all of the info, their first question back to me was "Can you fix it?". Are you kidding???? Crap customer service for a crap product. I tried to leave a negative product review on Banggood, but they moderate all negative ones and do not post them.
I got an itch one day, went on Amazon and found a 1/16 4x4 by Hosim that is a mirror image of this about a month ago and have had way too much fun beating the living daylights outta it! Battery and motor arrangement different but the body style, wing, suspension etc... looks the exact same. Bummer to hear about after market parts though as i have bent a, is it a “dog bone”? Axle to the rear wheel from differential.....? Spent $160 for car and an extra battery. My opinion for beginner like me not wanting to get into deep money wise this was worth every penny. My grandson is 3 now, can’t wait for him to be old enough to enjoy driving this thing. And yeah it’s flipping fast!! If anyone has info on after market parts please post. Great video👍🏼
Its still available! This company probably makes Traxxas. They can do this and sell it for less just like car parts (BMW and MB are more expensive because of a brand stamp). My neighbor started with this. And now just spent $800 on a Traxxas and it grinds and whines like no other. But it is a beast. Put some teflon grease on the gears. You'll be good.
Hello, a question pls, what is your opinion about the Traxxas rc buggies? I just see some at Conrad stores here in Austria 🇦🇹, but i have no idea how is the quality. I want to get a New without Problems, i had/have a reely Bulldog and had alot of Problems with the contruction, especially the sensitive parts are made of plastic and broke many Times, now i have enough and give up this Bulldog, even the engine is super. Thankyou in advance. Best regards from Austria 🇦🇹 Michael
Hey guys. I recently bought a Wltoys 144001 and after previewing several "warning" videos I opened the front & rear differentials & found them dry. Packed them both with Moly grease. I did do a short run before and after. BIG difference in reducing the "tinny gear sounds" coming from the car. Metal gear wear should be minimized, too. From this point on, I will never run a new RC vehicle without at least checking for lube in the differentials first. There may be a chance that oil based lubricants have to be left out for international shipping (?) Did you check for differential lube on this car before testing? Is that where the noise mentioned was coming from?
Just tried mine on a 3s battery today. This truck can handle 3s if you just punch to full throttle occasionally. Full throttle burst on 3s are no problem it seems so far. It actually runs better on 3s in my opinion. I would assume if you held full throttle for an extended period. The ESC motor could over heat.
Hey there mate, so i just wanna ask you a question, hows your rc doing now with your 3s lipo battery? And you didn't mention how much C your lipo 3s battery has. I appreciate your reply thanks.
@@elliothuh669 thanks a lot, and so far no problem with my diffs thank God for that.. Anyway thanks a lot, ill just install a heatsink for my motor and a fan for my esc.

When it comes to rc buy the best thing you can afford that you like. Going cheap can come back to bite you. You usually can’t go wrong choosing brands that have been around for a while. Good review
If you spend $80 more you get a bigger and a faster car with part availability (traxxas 2wd) and I am guess one of the reasons they push these products is because they get commission and that is COMPLETELY fine.
The vehicle that one is trying to copy ( 2wd Traxxas rustler vxl) is $279, so 179$ more not $300 more. Maybe a mini e- Revo VXL also ($249) Looks like a decent budget vehicle though. However you don't get the same part support or any type of warranty. While the initial cost of an RC may be important I think continued parts support and warranty are just as important. Great video keep up the good work.
@@arnaudgirard1894erevo has totally different shock setup much larger, 4wd and is 6s capable. So not a very close or fair comparison. @@rattlehead7281 I understand the differences I'm not confused at all, there are two erevos a mini, and a regular. For the person that sees someone running a high dollar rc and would like to get into the hobby this is a perfect starter rc. Thank you for reviewing a knockoff. I owned an old Traxxis nitro truck a few years back. It was great but pretty expensive. I've since started looking at electric rc trucks. This one looks good.
Absolutely Jack! Traxxas is known to make some decent vehicles, but they are pretty expensive compared to most of the market. They also have extremely bad business strategies that we do not agree with morally. For this reason, we rarely buy their products, and when we do, it is mainly for educational purposes for our channel. Happy RCing 👍😎⚓
Hi guys, hope your good.. Haha yeah I have the revo and I can tell you this is not even in the same league as the erevo, and about the only thing that’s similar is the look of the body shell.. This is a reasonable little model for the money though. 👍 happy rcing guys

Love this rc truggy???🤔 Anyway for me these are affordable and can easily be upgraded if you want to as well. I added some oil to the shocks and it is noticeably easier to control and predict it's movements. My friend just got a kraton 8s and broke a part that due to it being new and a big brand is setting him back quite a bit of money with far less abuse.
Unrelated to this video; I've seen you guys do a boat week, plane week, etc...Have you done a military rc week? There's a 1/6 jeep that I bought recently, won't get it till September but there are other military vehicles I'm considering. You guys do a nice job. Thanks
This looks to've taken a lot of design elements from the hosim/kbtoys/xinlehong cars, as well as flat out using the same wheels, shocks, etc, but do their own thing between the wheels. Pretty much everyone who's had these early ones has had them break just by driving on grass, and I wouldn't be surprised if much of that has to do with early production runs, bad tolerances, and lack of any lubrication. If people are finding the shocks empty, why would the gearboxes, axles, etc be any diff"erent?
I'm thinking it's more of a 1/16th ERevo than 1/10th scale? Have to check the specs closer than I'm up to at the moment. Still pretty cool for the price. I just can't bring myself to recommend non hobby grade stuff to anybody I like even a little bit for the reason you mentioned. Parts! If stock parts aren't available to fix it, your better off investing in toilet paper. I do appreciate the review, and it looks like fun, but nope.
Absolutely. That's all that can be said about these cars. They are fun as long as they run. And when they break, and they certainly will, they just sit there broken without a chance to be repaired. If you are into the hobby for a long time and have loads of any spare parts you can probably repair them. But ppl just beginning with the hobby don't have loads of spare parts.
Is it interchangable with traxxas parts ? , also I like the D7 can u use traxas parts in both of them ? where I live i mostly just have access to traxxas parts
I'm thinking about getting this to put a camera on and use it to inspect the crawlspace under the house. It's 4x4 so it should work for that purpose as long as I can drive it slowly. Is there something better for my purpose in about the same price range? All of my RC stuff are mini quads. I don't have an RC car yet.
Get an axial wraith w/ a sensored brushless motor or a regular brushed motor. Non sensored brushless motors can be sporadic at partial throttle, more-so within the 0-25% throttle input range ("brushless motor cogging)". Its very similar to how a manual 5 speed behaves with poor gas-to-clutch timing input, the power delivery is not consistent and everything's jerky/unpredictable.
Haha, kids watch our videos too 😉 Proud to say weve never let anything slip on our channel in over 7 years so the whole family can watch together without worry 👍😎⚓
Don't know all of them, but looks the Bison, that ? Fiyue the orange one y'all had on the channel years ago. A nice looking vehicle. Might have to check this one out for sure.
It looks like an HBX in many areas and acts like one with the dogbone popping. It probly didn't pop out because the dogbone is attached to the gears and not just sitting in a cup. It especially sounds like one too though 'GGGRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRGGGGRRRRGGGG' grinding gears. If the gearbox lasts longer than a month I am impressed. I'd subscribe twice just to see what the stairs become. Maybe they got awesome and are putting in an R/C track because of you guys!
I’ve got the xlf-01 body style of this waiting for me for months to go open, it looks pretty decent with that stock lipo which I’m assuming is a bit anemic.
The tyre compound sounds way to hard and looks it as no deflection when hit hard objects. Looks like the reason you got the steps they looked used so maybe from some where else just a thought.
Bro ai bought a WL toys 14401 most fun ive ever had with an rc i was used to the cheap 30$ slow rc cars you usually see at places like walmart or ross lol so the speed difference was insane to me and I’mhappy with my purchase this truck is next on my list! And I want a drift rc too

@@Anonymous-wt4lx Yeah I feel you on that. Wish I could afford to add the new super baja rey to the fleet but I just can't afford it right now.
I am suprised the rear diff held up that long!!! Mine lasted about 3 minutes
Thanks for the video. Would you recommend this or the Feiyue FH03H/Eachine EAT04 for a beginner just getting into this hobby?
It looks good for a spin off
Yes if I wasn't already subscribed I'd definitely subscribe just to see what they do with those rusty ole stairs lol
God bless
Question about the Traxxas knock off is the motor upgradable
Poo on you! Poo on you!! Poo on you!!! Poo on you!!!! Poo in you!! Cool little truck. Thanks for the content.
God bless
Lol 🤣😃👍😎⚓
We hit 116° on Sunday the 12 it's so hot!😂
Not 1/10 Scale, it is 1/12 Scale. Manufacture trying to make it sound bigger than what it is.
We agree that it's more of a 1/12 scale 👍😎⚓
I thought after talking to a lawyer you could say TRAXXAS EREVO you mentioned the battery latch by them
Is it me or do the tires sound plastic
"Poo on you"? What as potty mouth! Lol.
Haha, kids watch our videos too 😉 Proud to say weve never let anything slip on our channel in over 7 years so the whole family can watch together without worry 👍😎⚓
@@TheRcSaylors if you ever did, you should have a really loud, long beep then have you sitting behind a desk giving a very "sincere" apology. 🤣
can you get parts for it anywhere?
On road Rc drift cars plz
This comes with oil filled shocks as well right?
And apparently you can get some adjustable shocks for it as well!
I love this one.. This is my kind of RC :D
That car runs like my historm spirit r/c truck! About the same price too. This $100 bashers are SO MUCH FUN!!! Thanks for sharing
XLF X03 or Xinlehong 9125. Which is better?
Traxxas if you have a problem with this video, I will eat your cheeseburger and there's nothing you can do about it.
I’ve got the xlf-01 body style of this waiting for me for months to go open, it looks pretty decent with that stock lipo which I’m assuming is a bit anemic.
Dy the traxxas stampede vxl 2wd is EPIC
Seems like a real good rc for the price. I might order one. Any downsides to this rc?
I got my car and am really pleased ...i will be changing the shocks though but other than that its a awsome car and pretty durable
This looks like a lot of fun! I like that it doesn't seem too top heavy so you can do donuts without flipping. Does it have proportional steering?
Fully proportional yes 😃👍😎⚓
The tyre compound sounds way to hard and looks it as no deflection when hit hard objects.
Looks like the reason you got the steps they looked used so maybe from some where else just a thought.
Really nice for the price
Can it run 3s lipo? And if it does, do you still need to convert the esc for the low battery cutt off?
I just ordered one for me and my daughter. Hopefully works out
That's awesome Crider! It's definitely a fun little RC :-) We are keeping ours!
She Really like your alls channel. Notice you all are kinda close by, a lot of your videos looked like some familiar places.
Standard ESC support for 3S lipo cell?
Well that settles it... I finally found the basher to get my 6 year old for Christmas
Bro ai bought a WL toys 14401 most fun ive ever had with an rc i was used to the cheap 30$ slow rc cars you usually see at places like walmart or ross lol so the speed difference was insane to me and I’mhappy with my purchase this truck is next on my list! And I want a drift rc too
This thing sounds mean. It's the 9125 tires!!!!
BIG FAN HERE, it’s been a while but I always come back 💙
That's right TEAM ASSOCIATED AND ARRMA and traxxas is kool
Please make a video of all of your bashers at an off road track like the JLB cheetah, slash, etc.
Keep us updated on stair progress lol plz
It even says VXL on the side lol 😂
Wow that’s why I love the Rc saylors that vid is old and they hart it in 21 minutes wow 🙃
Its a look knockoff but not the suspension it doesn't have the horizontal springs
I’d buy this if it had a parts options
Would it fit a regular 5000 hard case lipo battery in it ?
Make it fit
