Don’t feel bad, Ben - a lot of these traits of flexibility (even the tongue touching the nose and the super stretchy skin) are actually symptoms of something called Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (there are 13 different types, but the Hypermobile one is the most common - and the only one that can’t be diagnosed with a genetic test). It results in cool party tricks like this and what seems like a blessing of looking waaaay younger than you actually are - since basically your connective tissue is stretchier and doesn’t hold your joints in place as tightly, which also means your skin collagen is affected - but leads to A LOT of issues when you get older (if these idols aren’t already dealing with chronic joint pain, they will - but it can also cause chronic joint dislocations, bleeding issues, difficulty healing from injuries (broken bones don’t always heal! And scars and bruises take longer too), pregnancy complications, and even internal organ problems that can be hard to catch if you’re undiagnosed with EDS, since there aren’t a lot of specialists). I know all this because I’m lucky enough to currently be in the process of being assessed - at the age of 44.
I don't know if I have this, but I'm very flexible and have issues like the ones you discribed. I've been in and out of the doctors for over a year now.
@@loony7534oof - I’m sorry! It can be REALLY hard to get diagnosed; in Toronto, where I live, there is only ONE clinic that specializes in EDS, and it’s very hard to get a referral there (you can’t just go in on your own) - plus the wait time from referral to assessment is 18 months. I was about to be “diagnosed” with fibromyalgia by my rheumatologist (more like she didn’t know what was wrong so was going to call it that), when I also happened to learn I likely have something else called Barrett’s Esophagus, which is caused by chronic acid reflux - and I’d had ZERO symptoms aside from a slight cough since 2021 and more burping than usual (normally it’s white men in their 60s who smoke, are alcoholics, and/or are quite obese that get Barrett’s). So because I didn’t have any of the lifestyle factors and am so young to have it, that points to silent reflux since childhood - which can be a thing with EDS because the connective tissue disorder can affect the stomach sphincter and keep it from closing properly. And so I went to my GP to ask her about that, SHE wrote a note to the rheumatologist about it, and THEN the rheumatologist referred me to the clinic (even though rheumatologists are the ones to deal with autoimmune issues, she told me she specializes in joint disorders, so she couldn’t confidently assess for EDS). So… yeah… and ALLL of this is after originally asking my doctor whether I might have EDS when I first learned about it maybe 5 or 6 years ago (and being shutdown because IF I have it, it’s not as severe as the version most people think of involving constantly dislocating joints - just… joint instability that causes chronic pain). So yeah - it’s really hard to find a doctor who will listen to you and can actually assess you, but if you have those symptoms it’s definitely worth looking into! Plus - here’s a tip for you - I’ve been working with a team of people for my chronic pain (chiropractor, physiotherapist, osteopath, podiatrist, etc), and that all helps - but it’s REALLY important to 1) do all the stretches and exercises they give you to strengthen the muscles around your joints and give them more stability, but also 2) DO NOT OVERSTRETCH (and for me, that meant realizing what I thought was simply stretching is actually OVERstretching and causing injury I can’t necessarily feel to the soft tissue surrounding those joints). Oh! And 3) ALIGNMENT is key! (Check out Jeannie Di Bon’s videos here on UA-cam to learn more, but once I learned how to properly stand, walk, sit, etc - which isn’t necessarily what feels natural when you’re hypermobile - my pain got SO much better!).
Ben you should watch Gose Archive's Svt debate night 3😂 They are hilarious 😂 Svt is like part time idol group and full time comedians😂 I'm literally visiting your channel everyday for svt contents😅 But I really like your other kpop contents too👍

This just reminds me that Taeyong would be as well very flexible but very overworked he has back problems and it is chronic and he is still having such dance moves...example being Cherry Bomb and much more. It is not just back pain that made his legs paralyzed but as well he has neck problems from time to time..ugh that is what injuries do. He got it as a trainee. The only reason I am happy for that he is going to military and won't be overworked.
You saying that you could do the things the idols could do, but failing at them got me dying 😭👌✨
