Super Mario RPG was the first RPG I ever played, and it was what got me into RPGs. Once I dipped my toe in this, I plunged full force into Final Fantasy 7. Been a huge fan of the genre ever since. Glad to see you finally starting this. I purposely skipped out on watching anyone else do this so I could see your walkthrough. So far, this is a solid remake. I hope all the music remakes are solid as well. Looking forward to hearing how they remade "Fight against an Armed Boss", my favorite track from the classic game.
I played and beat the original, albeit while missing a lot of stuff... It'll be nice to see one of my favorite youtubers play the remake! Hope you have fun with it, Hawlo! Edit: One of the easiest RPGs on the market? Guess either it was easier than I remember or they made the remake easier.
Extremely amazingly well done with this part, and already going on strong, rescuing the Princess though not all goes as plan, and now having to make it to mushroom kingdom, and no telling what new things will happen. Keep doing amazing.
Remember playing the original on an emulator a long time ago, pretty much before I was 10. If this game (the original) was easy, then it goes to show that back then I wasn't as good as I am on playing videogames (especially RPG's) since I only got far on when you get Mallow. Yeah, very young me wasn't a mostly decent player, but could you blame me? It's a bit difficult being that good at that age. Nevertheless, I'll see the playthrough to see how it fares. Even not getting that far in the game and I can already see how different it looks from the original. It'll be fun.
You could still theoretically play the original on an (SNES) emulator, which shouldn't be too hard to download. Granted, if you *have* something like a computer (recommended to be of your own) to download the emulator along with the ROM for Super Mario RPG.
I only played this game once. Always meant to replay it. But never got around to it. But no matter. Seeing this game get a remaster made me happy. 8:50 Not my turn of the century chandelier! 9:14 Huh, this room is a lot taller than it was a few minutes ago... 10:21 That sword, was aimed at someone... 11:50 Can't she just Super Princess Peach her way out of this this time?
this was Mario's first step into the RPG gig with it's successors being Paper and Mario and Mario and Luigi. well now only Paper Mario since Alphadream went bust.
Finding out this remake came out AND one of my preferred Let's Player's is covering it was like having Christmas come early! Can't wait to watch you play more!
Ahhhh!!! I'm so glad they remade this, I always wanted a chance to play this for myself, and now I can! First thing's first, I love how it looks. The characters all look so...adorable! Mario and Peach in particular. It's nice that they give you an option to switch between the new and og soundtrack, but it's okay, because these remixes do not miss! Fantastically done by Yoko Shimomura. 4:40 One of the funniest yet embarrassing ways Peach has gotten kidnapped with NSMB also being a contender. He really let her get taken outside of his house... 11:00 There's no way he didn't see Mario literally getting launched into his own house, but he still felt the need to be a smartass. You're a funny one.
I’ve never played the original game, so I’ll be using these first few videos as a chance to get myself interested in it. So far it looks fun, but a tad too easy for my tastes. If Bowser’s gameplay is fun I might get over the seemingly easier gameplay and pick the game up because I LOVE when he’s playable - Bowser’s Inside Story is a banger game that deserves all the love in the world. Can’t wait for the next one!
Heyo, I played the original and beat it. Don't worry, it does eventually get harder and you will wanna at least prep. I know from experience. Also, the secret boss is NOT to be taken lightly.. if you can find it. Edit: Now that I've seen the intro, maybe it was easier than I remember. Or the OG is harder than the remake.

This actually got me off guard because there was no trailer about what date was about to release

Waiting for my rental, but I’m liking what I’m seeing so far.

Mario's house is basically a free HP & FP recover.🙂
People are mostly going to buy the game for mallow and Geno since they haven’t appeared in literally anything else

Excellent! I was hoping you’d play this game! 😁
I never got a chance to play the original, which I still regret deeply. 😭

A good RPG 4 beginners.
U just gained a new friend/subscriber.😊

"You can also here for free whenever you want"
Yeah, it would probably be a felony to disallow that if you're paying rent on time.
Sir Don't get distracted. Focus On thd Mission
11:33 I was suspecting the L is Real 2401 message.😅🤣😂
The original title was called Legend of the 7 Stars.

Oh boy its that time of the year
Huh, neat so far.
There's mah boi Geno
Now we just need him and Waluigi in the next Smash
Nice to play this game again.
Loved the video! Looking forward to the rest of the walkthrough
@Hawlo Do you think the timing in this game feels "stricter" than the original?
I do. Feels like a "blink and you'll miss it" whereas in the original they were pretty easy to pull off consistently.
