Customize Change Request Type in Servicenow | Change Request Type | Servicenow Admin

You can add a new change type to your change process. There are several processes involved with adding a change type. These processes include managing script includes and workflows.
In addition to the three types of change available by default, you can add new change types based on your organization requirements. For example, you can create a change type Expedited for changes that you require to be processed immediately.

I really wish you had completed this activity and further more completed it with the new Change models widget menu and updating flows. This is missing in all documentation and would really benefit the developer community. It sure would set your channel apart from the others which do not touch this. Interestingly, Docs do not show creating approval policies and updating the risk assessment to include this type either.

Even if you perform the above steps, still new change would not work. The approval workflow will not trigger.
