    Gran/Djeeta got a HUGE buff now that you're able to refresh the timer on the arts gauge when you use a finisher after using a skill, that and now your skill cooldown gets reduced by 2% for EVERY finisher regardless of arts level (If you're using Fearless Drive). We Captain mains 100% won this patch frfr.

      Yep. We used to have to save our skill CD for Arts 4 then just spam them all together regardless of situational timing-. We don't have to do that anymore.

      Lancelots cheesey playstyle isn't anything like an animation cancel, though.
      It's the "Fight or Flight" sigil that counts his Y or Triangle button as a dodge, making it cheesey.
      They might patch the sigil to not count his dodges as the ones you need for the sigil though.

    It kinda makes sense for some characters (Looking at percy, specifically which i main lol): It FELT like a bug more than a tech, the damage you gained by doing it was absolutely disgusting. Like it fundamentally alter a high commitment high burst character to "just cancel and vomit millions of damage lmao".) For others like Katalina... probably there was a more elegant way of doing it lol

    I wish they added small buffs to the characters that lost really good tech with these bug fixes to compensate. The dodge cancels on Id were great for quickly filling up his Versalis gauge while also saving your skills for Godmight. Since he has a signature sigil that helps him fill his gauge I feel like they should reset his cooldowns on Godmight like he does with dragon form, cuz he was already struggling to keep up and this set him back even further.

      The dodge cancels were part of the reason I was playing Id, so I'm also pretty disappointed in the change. I thought that since it only worked on two of his abilities it was intentional. Especially the one that he has to sit there and pray that the boss doesn't move while he charges for a decade. I don't really care about optimal dps or anything like that but this makes playing him feel a lot worse imo.

      Id needs so much help like he feels awful to play and does no damage and offers nothing useful for the team and I say this as an id main/lover. Recently I’ve been just picking my second and third favs vane/kat for the new boss :/

      Lucilius can be hard if you hadn't done any grinding before on Proto Bahamut. But if you've done some optimizing on Proto Bahamut, then Lucilius isn't that much different outside of being able to attack during DPS windows. Max Terminus weapons, Lucilius is easy. My mate and I, while we did die a lot on our first run, we still completed it plus the Twelve Labors. In saying that, we have played MMOs before so the mechanics weren't unfamiliar to us. But on the other hand, Lucilius could be very hard if you don't have max Terminus (plus complimentary sigils) or if you are unfamiliar with raid-type mechanics.
      Outside of the Twelve Labors, the other thing that could probably screw people up is the break check. But due to farming Proto Bahamut, we were already built to always have SBA up at just about any point in the fight. Running Uplift and Nimble Onslaught, I could use my SBA once, then once again on the break check (with assistance).

    It feels like most of the top dps characters were there because of bugs/jank in the kit. So if removing that levels the playing field, I don't see any harm in it personally.

    Personally I think the removal of the skill cancel tech is overall a good thing. Sure some characters suffered a bit from it. But at the end of the day, removing a 'clearly unintended' bug, rather than nerfing and entire characters kit just to compensate for a tech is a better decision overall. Hopefully with the bug fixes they can focus on overall character balance. Poor Ghondagoza is still at the bottom of the barrel in terms of character viability ffs lmao

    The skill cancel tech removal doesn't hit Vaseraga hard at all luckily. A no skill or 1(the undying one since it allows him to fill his SBA very fast by standing in AOEs) build was already viable since 100% of his damage is charge attacks. He is also one of the rare uses for the Less is More sigil.

    Currently I main zeta and ferry didn’t use those techs, because it was obviously going to get patched but I do overall feel like I’m doing less damage. I heard that Tyranny got a stealth patch and does not work like it did before (my dmg dropped with no other changes except the bug fixes so might be true) as for the patch overall now that in theory they have true numbers then maybe the update in April will have some character changes that will make them more viable.

    They shouldve kept the two loop thing with Zeta's buff. It didnt massively increase her DPS, and added some extra depth to her.
    Thanks to this nerf, my Crimson Flight Sigil that I spent many hours rerolling for is essentially useless. Thanks Cygames, very cool! 👍

    I do hope they do something about Katalina's Ares uptime, in any fight other than Lucilius she's fine. However in his fight it is so unfun to play Ares maintenance almost the whole time. I've pretty much just played Cag for his fight now.

    as a Rackam main the Aerial Barrage fix and Slag Shot nerf are 100% fine. he's still very viable. I'm still able to perform perfectly fine.
    best part is now his other sigil is viable.
    I'm enjoying it a lot. He's not perfect but he's in a better spot i'd say.

    Will also miss the techs, but they were definitely overcentralizing for certain characters. I wish they kept the techs in but just nerfed them, like on Percival if you used a skill cancel you'd only get a low speed quick charge, rather than the max speed quick charge

    In all honesty I don’t mind this change because the fact that players were skill canceling like this was a huge “F U” to the devs who put all that work into skills. Roll cancelling animations that are too long still works.
    If you really think animation cancelling and not using a skill is as the game intended you are smoking something
    What you COULD be talking about is making it so Ghandagoza is viable. Put meter build on all his skills and reduce how long overall it takes for him to do his charge attack.
    That’s something more should talk about.

    Im a Ferry main and the sba change is horrible but now it feel like they nerf launch atk & aerial barrage range and hits count as well without telling us, the range feel much shorter now especially aerial barrage and it didn't hits as much anymore. the skill cancel is still there but not really a big part of dps output

    i am happy that Charlotta is untouched by i hope they would just buff zeta's timing because the first 3 loops have different timings which can even fuck your rhythm if the boss turns around. idm the nerf, but i just wish she was rebalanced as well because i actually wanted to main her but sucks if i just end up on the ground 50% of the time. also, Ferry needs a buff on onslaught. rackam might need a bit of love too since they are just gonna nerf his "melee" kit anyway AKA slugshot and arial barrage. i knew the barrage was a bug but i am sad that they nerfed slugshot. atm, his offensive skills is just underwhelming. i would love if they give some love to his coffinmaker or the huge aoe that self damage him if you dont dodge back.

    The nerfs body Vas, his attacks are so slow that it takes years to get his bar full not to mention most boss's move so much that he is basically useless end game which sucks since he is my favorite. Id also falls to this because canceling made transforming faster. I just lost the main 2 characters I like :( .

      It doesn't nerf Vas at all. I'm a Vas main and he's one of the best endgame (although I haven't tried Luci yet). His best combo is Combo B (LLHH) and you can still dodge cancel the light attacks to get the heavy attacks faster.
      For mobile fights - one of the only times Grynoth canceling was actually useful - it's much better to do start with the first 2 hits of Combo A (dodge canceling the light attack) and then, rather than doing the combo finisher for Combo A, do a light attack instead to flow into combo B. The actual sequence is LHLHH where you can dodge cancel both L attacks, and you can choose whether or not to charge the first heavy attack (the first dash of Combo A which is used as a gap closer) - you can release it when the enemy is in a good position. You can also dodge reposition anywhere in between swings as long as you have more dodges left.

    Skill cancel removal for Id isn’t that huge. Personally I only did it once, maybe twice, in a two dragon form rotation just because his normal combo is so slow. Just a slap on the wrist, really

      I disagree. As the fastest way to get into dragon form was to skill cancel into finisher, then skill into finisher. That left you with two skills to decide what to do with in Godmight. Whether you use another skill cancel into Godmight finisher and keep that skill to get into dragon form post Godmight finisher quicker or use the higher damage and cap of Godmight to get extra damage was a choice. Now that cancels are gone, so are those decisions. The feel of playing Id is definitely much slower imo

      probably. I'm hoping they do something about how Ares works for Katalina. It just feels too clunky and if you dont invest in a guide for her, your performance hurts.
