Leon showed more bashfulness in this episode than I believed he was capable of lol.
He is like Charlie Chaplin, walking on the tightrope, sometimes flailing dangerously, but never falls down as people might expect.
Because he offends everyone equally, so he’ll always have allies who’ll back him up regardless of who he happens to trigger at the time. Dave Chappell is another great example of that style.

This episode was so funny lol. The whole watermelon bits were genius. One of the only few shows out there that gets better each season. The ending was brilliant 😂 😂

When larry makes a promise he keeps it
Larry and his stories and situations.....awesome always look forward to them and the many laughs.
Larry has a way of bringing out the honesty in people.’if a guy says it’s not my business and I went to stay out if it Larry does not except that and pushes the guy because deep down he knows the guy wants to say I love watermelon and I don’t care who knows. Larry makes it so you can say what you want and not be blamed because Larry will take the heat.
As the critics say, an instant classic. Best Curb since Jon Hamm showed up and had his name fused together.
Humanizing a Klansman is something that only Larry could get away with. Anyone else would be chastised and possibly cancelled, ironic intent or otherwise.
Plus, Woody, Kaley and the recurring Vince Vaughn, who actually looks and sounds like Funkhouser intermittently.

My daddy's family were sharecroppers in Mississippi in the 1930s and 1940s . 10 mouths to feed .
The watermelons from the garden were the only sweet food the family had until Christmas , after the cotton crop was sold.

12/2023......some Klansmen rented the apartment across from my house in 2015, (in a mixed race, urban neighborhood). I saw them heading off to a rally, dressed in their robes. I was blown away by their audacity. They had their hoods off. I could see how well the robes looked, very professional & well sewn, out of a sturdy fabric. They used to be a secretive group. Now, they are "out-of-the closet". It's not against the law in the USA, to wear clothing associated with violence, sick hatred.
I love how the shoppers look like they can give a crap who eats what lmao.

This & Seinfeld are like case studies on inauthentic people, the characters remind me of those high school friends I couldn't count on for anything & stop talking to because they're so self absorbed
I guess the comedic mind observes these unfortunate circumstances and sees material. It would definitely soften the blow of bad experiences to see the comedic side.
