Tysm for providing comparisons with the Andromeda S. I’ve been searching high and low for comparisons with it against ANY of the 2020 lineup.
I just bought some astell kern billie jeans and it is the best earphones i ever owned listening to miles davis, Led Zeppelin, muddy waters. It blows my mind but then i see reviews on se846 and campfire and your guys say its the best of the best and it just makes me wonder if this iem i have only cost 400$ how much am i missing listening on $1000 iems

@minisic Hi Lachlan, not sure if there's a chance you'll reply, but if you do, may I ask how is the mojo 2 paring with the Ara? I'm planning on upgrading my portable dongle to Mojo 2, but I'm afraid Ara will not be the right IEMs.
Ara will sound a bit warmer on Chord Mojo, so the balance will be nice, but it will also noticeably pick the noise floor from Mojo. For Ara, I would probably recommend a dongle like the iBasso DC04 Pro. This will give you a similarly smooth tone but with a much lower noise floor (and price).
I still can't believe this guy abandoned his awesome channel.
I think Lachlan never really left, as long as they are happy that's what matters most. I won't lie I really miss Lachlan's channel format but life goes on.

What about pairing the Ara with SP1000M using the balanced output?

Does it still have a rise around 11k-12k like the andros?
Just wondering pairing with either Sony's ZX300 & NW-WM1A. What do you think? Right now I wouldn't be able to travel to Sydney to try it out. Currently using andromeda 2019. Cheers
The ZX300 will give the Andromeda a brighter sound and is quite a nice pairing with low noise floor. The WM1A will have a more noticeable noise floor with the Andro. With the Ara, the ZX300 will be quite a bit brighter - too bright for me.
@@MinidiscAu Just the answer I am looking for. Thank you. One more question for the Ara, have you guys tried the balance cable on the sony? The Andromeda using the 4.4mm went a bit darker - which is just right for me. So I was wondering will the Ara have similar effect.
Does it have the same soundstage as the original Andromeda classic?
It has been a long time since I have heard the original Andromeda, but I would say the soundstage is on a similar footing with current generation Andromedas and my own Andro SS.
@@MinidiscAu Ive heard the original andromeda had the largest out of head soundstage but the later generations got smaller after they changed the nozzle design
