There’s gotta be a way to make this style of gameplay popular again with today’s gaming zeitgeist. The gritty 80s atmosphere and the intuitive gameplay that forces you to think before you act trumps most COD games released in the past decade. Some aspects of both Green Beret and MIA still hold up.
"think before you act"? It's a pretty easily understandable side-scrolling action game, not Rainbow Six, technically several popular games like Fortnite are mechanically far more advanced than arcade games like this and require far more planning, strategic thought (though I personally dislike Fortnite and games in that genre), and actually, modern Call of Duty games require strategic planning, knowledge of a given map, knowledge of your loadout etc. vs. games like this that are relatively simple memorization of enemy patterns and timing on a 2D plane. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with enjoying arcade games, I do too, but modern games are far more advanced with more complexity than these relatively simple quarter munchers.
The enemy made a fatal mistake buying those large vehicles but arming the troops with only knives. If they’d invested in some guns and ammo for the men instead, our hero would have easily been stopped!
Haha, his legs look like a separate person running from his torso, and the enemies running look like they're holding back a deuce. Did no one bring this up in production?
You can actually let only one or two of the POWs die. It's only if they're all dead will you get a game over. (Though why would you? You'd miss out on 800,000 pts per POW :p)
I don't know why, but the original Green Beret just feels much more attractive to me to play. This thing here is using background music and parallax, it is just too much already... but the gameplay itself is a bit slow, jerky and definitely behind the original.
Are we sure this came out after Rush n' Attack/Green Beret? It seems like they took a step back in a number of ways, such as the music. All we need a drum solo and the same one over and over. I will agree that the number of weapons and that they can stack is better but I really don't see improvements here. Also this is a case where the NES version of game did it better than then arcade, it had music.
Офигеть графика! Никогда такого не Бачиу: герой лезет по лестнице и автомат держит в руке 😱 супер. Игра конечно однообразная могли бы и лучше геймплей сделать. Но реализация на высоте. Конами умели игры делать.
The Ministry of Silly Walks.
That knife cutting sound effect is super satisfying
Damn the Soundtrack is a bomb...

M.I.A.: Missing in Action = green beret/rush 'n attack 2.
Indeed..should have called it Green Beret 2 for marketing reasons
pjomayo In Japan is called Green Beret 2.
The enemy made a fatal mistake buying those large vehicles but arming the troops with only knives. If they’d invested in some guns and ammo for the men instead, our hero would have easily been stopped!
that sarge forgot the legs day lol
Interesting, I didn't know Green Beret/Rush 'n Attack had a spritual successor.
Back when Konami made video games and not Pachinko machines.
moviemetalhead He is Green Beret 2 in Japan.
Wow this game's soundtrack was too hype for its time. All arcades machines muted when this shit was going off.
То как движутся заключённые..это отдельный шедевр!
back in the golden konami days
I miss AI like this. Over confidence was your worse enemy.
kanami is best arcade platform in my childhood and still now.
Are the knife sounds the Old Roblox Jumping Sounds?
Sonichackedyou that's one of the most generic sound effects you can hear anywhere.
@@phj9894 Yep. Was also used as the sword attack sfx in Castlevania arcade/Haunted Castle
your longplays are the best 👏👏👏👏👏
SCHLAUCHI is a beast
6:14 Am I supposed to believe those doors go anywhere? With that many people in?
Then it all just randomly explodes.
For some reason that country's military only issues field knives to most of their troops. No wonder one dude is taking them all on. 🤣
So the boss fights are just enemies that you go against? No big soldiers as bosses
12:00 I thought you were about to fight Robotnik, judging from the music.
That knife put in alot of kills !
Missing in Action is the sequel to Green Beret
Yes, and the original Green Beret is better.
Haha, his legs look like a separate person running from his torso, and the enemies running look like they're holding back a deuce. Did no one bring this up in production?
They didn't want to offend the motion capture actors.
such like avenged music title
Green Beret
omg, that walk animation. would totally support on kicstarter for remake...
/jk
lol i love the souljah strut
So.... wats up with the bazoooka?
Looks like fun game, but what really bothers me is the beret guy's static waist.
Really look out in the final stage. If you, or any of the POWs die, it's an automatic Game Over. Not unlike "1943", "Shinobi", and "E-S.W.A.T."
And if you run out of lives, the game will end and you will not be able to continue. Hence the reason i classify this as MIA's ''point of no return''
figment1988 that’s exactly what he meant, dumbbell!

When a 90's game is still better than the new COD
Actually late 80s not 90s
He runs like a Welshman.
i know im a bit late but is there a way to install this on pc
This is Green Beret.

Is this Rush N Attack?
SuperSubmachinegun Yes, the continuation.

Rush 'n Attack?
yep. a follow-up with a Vietnam themed motif taken from the Rambo and aptly enough, the Missing in Action films
Anne Hathaway: Am I literally a joke?
How to play this game in psp?
Help me please😢
better than Rush´n Attack arcade
These mooks are terrible at their jobs.
The escort mission is the most annoying. If all prisoners are killed, your day is done for!

gUUD xD
Dude, this is a Green Beret knock - off
It's a spiritual successor, albeit with the setting being Vietnam-esque instead of Soviet territory
